Is Marcos Alonso the new Gareth Bale? Should he be switched to an winger and relieved of his defensive duties?

Good point, but I don't think it would work. He hasn't got the burst of speed to be a winger, and which of our current wingers would he be considered an improvement upon?

Pedro? Willian? Play Alonso on the right to cut in on his left. Ps Mahrez isn't that quick either.

Whichever way you look at it Alonso is not a left back BUT how could you leave him out on his performances so far? Pedro is solid 45 minute player and his willingness to shoot from range is a big bonus against packed defences.

Very good player (M. Alonso) his eye for goal is amazing. I see him as one of the top three left backs in the world. Though he needs to improve in certain areas of his game like other left backs around.
