Sorry, not CFC related, but could someone please explain the basics of when a player retreats from an offside position, when does he then become onside? I'm thining about Ronaldo's 2nd goal when he was half a mile offside but came back 'on' to continue the move and score.

Once back in an onside position you can become legally active for another phase of play, such as another pass or cross. I think that's basically it.

I think once in an onside position (from an offside position), u have to stay some seconds again before you can become legal again to get the ball. I am not sure but I think its between 3-5 seconds.
