This managerial situation has dragged on for too long now (start with the obvious) . We really aren't that far from pre-season for non world cup players and, right now, I can't see anything other than Conte taking that first training session.

There is very, very little coming from the club, from a non commercial point of view, and to be honest, I just want them to acknowledge some sign of clear direction now. Conte staying, Sarri coming in or even going with Blanc - anything! I thought no news was good news, but this silence isn't golden!

Ed001, I'd love to know your opinion on who, as things stand right now, you think we should go for with regards to our manager; or if you think we should stick with Conte.

{Ed001's Note - I think you should go for Jardim. He is happy to be a head coach, which is important. He plays excellent football and he has shown he is capable of beating the odds to win the league, which you need right now, as Man City are stronger.}

Cheers Ed, I like Jardim and would rather him to a lot of the other names we've been linked with. I worry that Liverpool are looking much stronger now too.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure we are but City are still likely to be team to beat.}

But surely by now ed our managerial situation must be close to being resolved. fixtures out World Cup starting, this is pretty bad to let it be up in the air still with names being mentioned,

{Ed001's Note - not sure it really makes much difference to Chelsea as it is a head coach rather than a manager. Signings and sales can go ahead as normal and there is no training to take at the moment.}

Exactly ED01, the voice of reason. It makes very little difference until pre-season training commences. Also, with Roman having these UK Visa issues he might just stick with Conte and save himself a cool 9 million while he finds a buyer for the club. Hope not but it could be a valid reason why no new manager and more importantly Conte still at the helm!

Just a question, Ed001, as I don't know this at all of course. But isn't it possible that targets of the club would be hesitant to sign for Chelsea when they don't know who the coach will be?

{Ed001's Note - possibly yes.}

I think you'll run City very close this year - has all the makings of a classic fight for the title.

Great point re. the appointment being head coach rather than 'manager' and signings / targets not really being affected.

Is there any news on the potential Director of Football position - or whatever we're going to call Emenalo's replacement?

{Ed001's Note - not that I know of. Everything seems to have been thrown up in the air by Roman's visa problem.}
