Ed 001 where about do you rate hazard with the best in the league? Is he world class? I keep reading he's irreplaceable but I genuinely I'm not seeing anything with him that stands out from the rest.

{Ed001's Note - when he is at his best, he is arguably the best player in the league. Difficult argument as different positions etc make it difficult to pick one player as the absolute best imo. World class is very subjective, but I don't see him as world class because he simply does not perform often enough. This is the problem, he may be outstanding at his best, but how often is he at his best? He seems to pick and choose when he bothers to turn up and there are many games when he offers nothing to the team. The one irreplaceable player in this Chelsea team is, for me, Kante, with Azpilicueta as second most important. Hazard is simply not performing at a high enough level often enough. There are some games when he is a hindrance to have on the pitch as the other players seem to think they have to give him the ball at every possible opportunity.}

Could say the same about Ronaldinho then, ed1. Hazard is the lost talented player, bar Lionel Messi, in world football.

And, 100% world class.

{Ed001's Note - what the hell has Ronaldinho got to do with anything? What a pointless comment. You are clearly biased to idiocy if you think Hazard has even close to the talent of the utterly hateful Neymar. Or Cristiano Ronaldo. This is the problem with biased fans, they ruin any conversation with their blinkered views as they can't see reality, just some fantasy world where their own team's players are on a pedestal they do not deserve.}

Well said Ed.

3.) 13 Feb 2018

I think hazard has the potential to be world class or is very close if he isn't there alreay.

I hate to say this but I think under the management of an attacking manager like Pep he would be absolutely world class and will score so many more goals than he is now. let's just hope that never happens. It would be a sad day.

{Ed001's Note - I am assuming you mean unless Pep takes over at Chelsea....}

4.) 13 Feb 2018

I agree on the Azpilicueta comments. So calm and composed, easily the best 1-1 defender in the league.

Baffles me how pep has worked wonders with a few players. If he can get sterling to raise his game then imagine what he would do to Hazard. But that won't happen unless pep comes chelsea which virtually zero lol.

6.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 08:47:28
I think hazard is a good attacking forward as I said before he doesn't score enough for me world class I don't think so
Look at how much Salah has scored more or less from same position on pitch albeit opposite side
Hazard is that kid you see that's really good in your son's side that no-one really likes except his own parents but he always gets his own way lol there in every team.

So because I have a different view, I'm 'biased to idiocy'? relax man

Ronaldinho like hazard, didn't always apply himself and more enjoyed the game rather than trying to score and assist the most goals. He played the game 'the right way', as some might say. That's where the comparison came from.

Furthermore, you're seriously underating hazard if you don't think he's close to the ability of Ronaldo or Neymar. he's probably the third best dribbler in the world behind Neymar and Messi but his ability to accelerate over a short distance is unmatched.

Watch the game against atletico Madrid earlier this year mate, simply unstoppable and while I agree he isn't performing consistently enough to be rated as high as messi and Ronaldo in that bracket, doesn't mean he isn't just as talented.

Remember I stated he was just as talented, not that I thought he was as good and I think the best players in the world are at a consistently good level, like Messi and Ronaldo.

Standard.

{Ed001's Note - you are just digging a deeper hole. 3rd best dribbler in the world? Come on you can't be serious. His ability to accelerate over a short distance is unmatched? I can name 3 players in the Prem off the top of my head that can match that in Sterling, Salah and Mane. Sane maybe as well, though I have not watched enough of him to see. I am sure I could find others if I bothered to look, especially in other leagues. You clearly need to watch some football outside of Chelsea and get a clue.

And it is not for having a different opinion, it is for having a ludicrously biased one.}

That's the problem with football today though cfc shak. People only view players as world class if they score a lot. Hazard is not a player who scores a lot, either was Ronaldinho, either was Paul scholes. No one can doubt that them two players aforementioned were top class.

9.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 09:19:50
I clearly meant with the ball at his feet.

No point having a debate with a brick wall so we'll move on.

{Ed001's Note - funny I was thinking the same thing, you are clearly just so ridiculously biased and clueless about other players. Much as I hate the little rat, Raheem Sterling's acceleration, with or without the ball at his feet, is incredible. It is his key asset. You stick to not having a clue and being ignorant about the world as I am sure if you bothered to look you would find lots out there who can match that one facet of Hazard's game. It is the overall game that he has that betters most. However you live in a little blue bubble so you will never see reality and I am done trying to educate you. You just carry on making up 'facts' to support your biased view of the world.}

Standard de gea is world class sadly not on score sheet this season
I agree with ed on this one
Hazard is a fine player probably our best attacking player but as ed has stated there is same quality out there
Hazard seems to me that he thinks he is Chelsea like Messi like ronaldo think the team revolves around them
Giving the impression he is a team player but infact is only out for himself Messi isn't like that he is a team player imo
I'd rather have players like drogba would die for the team no matter what team first me second
Plus I don't think hazard is a big game player does he make a difference in the big games like drogba or Frank did no
Hazard is a very good player world class imo no, yes real want him I don't think he will go because of the petulance he can weald and get away with at Chelsea.

11.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 12:32:23
For me Hazard has to do more in his position. He plays in a similiar position to Salah, Sterling, Sane, Mane, Sanchez etc and in my opinion he should be blowing these guys out of the water. If we are to compare him to the greats then domestically he needs to be the king and unfortunately despite how good he is when wants to be he doesn't do it enough in the league and that's why some others have better stats. We can't also compare him to players who play in different positions who score less like Scholes. For me hazard needs to score more because it is clear he has the ability. Maybe under an attacking manager he will reach the top, not under Zidane either.

13 Feb 2018 12:32:03
Hi Ed, just a quick question who you rate more Salah or Hazard?

{Ed001's Note - that depends on what you mean by rate. Hazard has had a far better career so far than Salah and so overall he would have to, even with red tinted specs on, be the choice as better player. However, if I was picking just one of them for my team right now in a must win game, I would choose Salah. The last couple of seasons he has been catching Hazard's level, he needs a couple more to overtake him. At least.}

13.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 12:47:59
When talking about world class you are talking about the complete player something Ronaldo and Messi and many others are but Hazard is not and whether he can get there I doubt. He is an exceptional player but goes missing too often and for his possession he needs more goals. A decent comparison would be a choice between a prime Manchester United, George Best or Eden Hazard in your team and I would take Best every day of the week. Marginally taller but turned up every game, could score, dribble, cross and head the ball, in his prime almost the perfect player. Sometimes, because he is so important to our team he gets elevated higher than he should.

Henry summed it up, he needs to score more goals. Its simple. But I think we are seeing an improvement.

So far this season he has 11 and is our top scorer which is good given theat he was injured at the start of the season and missed a lot games and started 4 off the bench. Its further more impressive if you consider that he has come back from a broken ankle.

I think this year we will see him break his previous and last years record of 16. That is a sign of a player that is improving. Hopefully he gets close to the 20 goal mark this season. The risk with that is that Madrid come knocking. But as i said previously, someone of Hazards quality should fetch 200 mil in the summer. Decision time for Madrid do they go all out for him or get alternatives who may br better value for money. Either way he goes or signs a new contract. I don't expect a Sanchez situation.

Unlike Hazard, Ronaldinho did it on the world stage for his country an the won Champions League with Barcelona. i don't think i've ever seen Hazard play well in a World Cup or the Euros for Belgium in big games. And he's never stood out in the knockout stages of the Champions League for Chelsea either against big teams.

so to say he's like Ronaldinho is incorrect in my opinion. i believe Ed will agree. Ronaldinho peaked, won everything and then faded. Where as ed mentioned Hazard is great one week and terrible the following week. So yes, he has the talent to get to Neymar's level if he really wanted to, but does he have the consistency? Not for me.

Let's see what Hazard does in the next three games after the FA Cup Friday. We've Barcelona, Man City, Man United. let's see if he turns up for those games. my guess and i'm a Chelsea fan and i love Hazard, but my guess is he'll be marked out of the game an he'll have no affect. nobody is on Ronaldo's an Messi's level and never will be.

16.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 13:34:13
thanks for your answer ed, I still think that hazard is better our round player. For me Salah is one way too dimemsional, for him evrrything is about the pace. Whete hazard has other attributes, but anyway each to their own. I think Hazard is still best player in the league alongside Silva and De Bruyne.

Also you can't really compare Sterling or Sane to Hazard.

{Ed001's Note - Salah is not all about pace mate, you haven't been watching him this season. He has developed strength and trickery. He has held the ball up like a target man at times. You only have to see the second against Arsenal to see trickery.}

17.) 13 Feb 2018
13 Feb 2018 17:30:14
Ed01 is definitely wearing his red tinted glasses. Yes Salah is great with trickery and pace but u can't compare a one season wonder with Hazard. This guy is performing year on year barring 2015 16. Better all-round player than Salah. Also, Salah benefits from the geigenpress attacking system Liverpool employs. Compare that to our more pragmatic 😂 system, I think Hazard has done wonders. Yes he is not world class yet but definitely has more technical attributes than Salah. in an attacking system hazard will definitely score more goals but I like Chelsea system more. Atleast we are not having a nightmare at the back barring last few games.
Ps: I am not wearing blue tinted glasses.

{Ed001's Note - didn't I say exactly that? That Salah has to perform for at least a couple more seasons to stand comparison? Seems you need to check your glasses mate! My point was that just at this moment I would choose Salah purely on form, not that he is better, yet. If he maintains his form then he will stand comparison, at the very least. The worry for me is whether Liverpool get to hang on to him long enough to see that.}

18.) 14 Feb 2018
14 Feb 2018 02:03:21
Yes I agree on your views Ed 01. Salah needs to perform at that level for few years to be considered as near world class. Klopp and his tactics is tailor made for him. Liverpool can build a team around him provided they can hang on to him. Same as hazard and Chelsea. A fan can only hope.

I have 6/ 6 vision ed.

{Ed001's Note - 6/6? Not heard that before had to look it up to see if that was good or bad! We use 20/20. I am half blind without my glasses these days.}

14 Feb 2018 04:24:48
It is perfect vision ed! All old men have half blind vision 😂. Alas!

"Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" you don't need glasses for that.

I am at my job today and still wondering how come spurs came up from that two goal deficit. Would have loved them to spursed it again. Stange game is this, football!

{Ed001's Note - I have been half blind since a kid, oddly it has not changed in about 20 years despite spending most of my time now sat on a comp staring at a screen. They say that makes your sight worse so maybe it would have been perfect by now without doing these sites!

Luckily I will always be young and beautiful.

To be honest I missed it, early V-day so I could get peace for tonight's important game.}
