Barkley situation strange. Fee agreed, personal terms agreed, having medical, changes his mind. Wants to wait till January to evaluate his decisions then. So in other words someone rang his agent saying don't sign we will buy you in January. Shame.

No. The player is clearly crocked on a serious level. The Everton owners are also baffled. They don't want him and were happy to sell him to Chelsea for 35m. He failed the medical and the rest is his agent spin in an attempt to preserve his value in January. Ed's am I wrong? A player doesn't agree personal terms, travel across the country, strap on some running shorts and THEN do a u-turn once they get upon a treadmill.

J's point in the above post makes a lot of sense too. A lower fee likely will equal a bigger signing on bonus and if he waits the whole year, im sure it'll be almost double.
