Pathetic performance yet again against lower league opposition. Yes, the back four is generally strong but at a cost of millions of pounds the rest are turning up for the so called big games but don't show the same passion and commitment against (on paper) weaker teams! Also, why start Lamps? Great player in his Day but not any more and Torres? Ba? Jose didn't like Mata but he gave everything in every game and would/could make the difference in games like Palace, Villa, West Brom, West Ham etc. Also, why was more effort not made to make Lukaku feel more welcome/loved? Sometimes players need an arm around them/ nurtured! Sturridge was the same and look at him now with a manager who seems to understand man management.
More questions than answers at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - Lukaku's position is entirely of his own making.}

Seems to be a reoccurring theme that we really struggle against teams that sit back, Jose's counter attacking strategy is great against good or confident teams who come at us. Even when we've beaten those lesser teams we usually have to somehow get a nan early score to loosen them up or they score first and we get desperate and send numbers frwd and that's the strategy we need to employ against lesser teams. City, pool, gunners all have excellent records against lower table teams because they not only send numbers in attack knowing they will sit back but they also put out a possession holding lineup. Yesterday we left our only true #10 Oscar, on the bench to start the match and our final third passing was awful. We need a backup strategy for teams that sit back.

Lukaku was given a decision by the manager to fight for his place or to go out on loan.Seeing its a world cup year he decided for a loan and cfc wouldn't take a world cup dream away from a youngster.
