Why would Martinez agree a new contract with a higher release clause if he knows Chelsea will only buy him if it remains as it is? Why would he essentially stop himself from joining a top club? Doesn't make any sense to me. Can you explain Eds? Thanks

Cause he thinks people will still be interested in him and with a clause of 50 mill he thinks that puts him in the world class striker class when he isn't. can't see any other reason to his logic!

It's probably the club and agent who want to increase his clause, not the player himself.

A Higher release clause generally goes with a chunky pay rise and improved contract bonuses, so why wouldn't he?

God Created United:

Ill tell you why he wouldn't.

He'd get a chunky pay rise and improved contract bonuses if he were to join us! That's why!

We do our business a bit different to utd, hence why we've signed a few players while you lot are begging you club to spend! So back you go to the Utd page and have a little moan about why your club haven't signed anyone yet :)
