TomB; I don’t think we have agreed terms, however hopefully we will. I have wanted Chelsea to sign Ugarte from the first time I saw him play (bombarding Ed002 with questions about him - hoping that Chelsea signs him), I will be gassed if we eventually sign him- he’s just a perfect fit.

{Ed002's Note - Manuel Ugarte (DM) Interest of Leeds went when Sporting refused to negotiate a reduction in his buy out clause and now want to give him a new contract and increase it to ward off interest. Aston Villa offer an unlikely option as they look to adding a high profile player in the summer. Wolves are still keen with Spurs and PSG also having shown an interest but none will meet his €60M buy out clause and whilst Spurs may have moved on to other targets, they could yet make a take it or leave it offer. Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and Newcastle offer further wildcard options and are keen. Liverpool have not approached Sporting who no longer wish to do business with the club after accusations of tapping up, but have spoken with Mendes, who is pushing a move to Spurs or Chelsea (as an option to Manu Kone). Representative Jorge Chijane has been told to have no further contact with Liverpool whilst Jorge Mendes looks to facilitates a sale and is now focussing on Chelsea and PSG.

Wow, thank you so much for the detaioed info, so it could happen then, I would rather Caicedo and hope we may still go for him even if we get Ugarte. But my guess is we would get Lavia with him.

I feel buying two DMs (Lavia and Ugarte) isn’t the best decision - I would rather we bought a DM and a CM/ DM like Ugarte [DM] and Caicedo [CM/ DM] or Ugarte [DM] and Manu Kone [CM/ DM] is better.
