Is it just me or do you guys agree that after how exciting this window seemed to be going a few weeks ago, we seem to have reeled in quite a bit and slowed down?

Is this an indication that perhaps the transfer ban may not come into effect until after the summer now? I would think if we were facing a ban, a striker younger and/or more in shape than current higuain would be being talked about, unless the club is placing a lot of faith in someone like Tammy Abraham for next season, with Morata seemingly on the way out, that would leave us with two ageing strikers, which I’m not sure would be such a good thing when you also consider the age of our current starting wide players.

Can’t see anything happening re ban for a while yet. Ed002 I know you said Chelsea haven’t yet been charged, but do you think they will be?

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

Rowe, it always surprises me that supporters of football clubs expect and desire signings should be done on the first few days of any window.

We certainly got out of the blocks quickly this window with the signi of Pusilic.

Unfortunately we can’t just expect to buy a player from a club without that club having first secured a replacement. Generally our club would behave in a similar way.

I do think that’s we should be selling some of our loan army and also squad players who are not getting games.
These players require no need for us to sign cover. Although, we may, as in the past, regret some of those sales.

Can someone fill me in? Ed? What are we being banned for? Illegal approaches to younger players and payments to families?

{Ed002's Note - The issue was that Chelsea took a player and used him without registering him.}

Yeah, that is sort of what I was thinking Tom, a few people like Moses and Cahill I thought would be out now (though I know they are cover and homegrown so not taking up spots), I’m just thinking that if the ban does come down in the summer (not sure how likely Ed thinks this is? ) that this window is our last chance to sign players for an entire season and and we have loaned a 31 year old out of shape Higuain (and admittedly a young, potential star in Pulisic, who excites me! ) .
We lack goals and have an ageing forward line (especially as Morata seems to be onnthe way out, and I would be worried if we didn’t not address this.

Roweycfc: I agree with your worry about Higuain and because he is not as fit as he could be we certainly need to hang onto Giroud as there is a chance he will only last half a match; we also need to get the crosses in with both players. I have seen Pulisic three times this season and if he's picked next week against Hannover 06 I will see him again. He is only potential, nowhere near the finished article and I prefer him down the middle because he is quick and has a nice touch; less effective on the wing. 'If' we keep hold of Hudson-Odoi and with Pulisic we add so much pace, something we have been lacking recently BUT Bayern friends are adamant they will sign him!

Ed 002
Do you think the ban will start before the next transfer window?
Or would the club be more likely to appeal to give them the chance to sign and sell a few players?
Many thanks.
T.

{Ed002's Note - What ban?}

Sorry I thought you meant the club would receive a transfer ban for the incident you mentioned.

{Ed002's Note - No, there have to be charges and replies to those charges, etc., etc.}

Even if the club were to receive a ban I can only imagine that they would then appeal, as with other cases like Barcelona etc. Therefore the ban would come into place in the window after.
