Ed001, with the departures of Cesc and Morata, the links to Barella, Higuain and Wilson are starting to make sense.

Also, I initially assumed that Denis Suarez (who will now likely head to Arsenal) and Hirving Lozano (who will likely not move in January) were pursued in order to replace CHO.

Are there any other LW targets we are pursuing since the above two are unlikely to come in January?

{Ed001's Note - isn't Denis Suarez a central midfielder? I know he plays various positions for Barca when they are short, but I am pretty sure he is a central mid.

I would suggest Asensio in exchange for Hazard is a possibility, at least according to the Spanish. I am not sure if Chelsea are open to it but it is something Madrid would be keen on.}

I thought we were looking at Denis as a winger since the position he covers in midfield is already covered at Chelsea.

Hazard and Asensio swap makes sense, but I was looking for a lower profile LW who can replace Hudson Odoi if he moves to Germany.

Otherwise, we will be left with 3 wingers for 2 positions, not to mention Willian and Pedro still are nursing injuries.

{Ed001's Note - I would expect the loan army would provide any replacement for CHO mate.}

Hi Ed, are we even certain that Madrid actually want Hazard? Because if so, I expect him to be gone in the summer. But I've always gotten the feeling they don't really want him.

Has their stance changed? I'm a big fan of Asensio. Could be special. But I'd want some money on top of him if they get Hazard.

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly not their first choice but they might end up with him as the option.}

Just for a second imagine being at a level where you look at Eden Hazard and go, “oh, well he would be OK I guess. ” Who is the first choice then Ed? Neymar or something?
