Transfer update. ( on reported targets ) from other sources
Begovic 50/50
Green as a back up if Begovic fails
Varanne no chance
Stones unlikely
Rahmann 50/50 if Luis goes
Pogba might happen but will involve Oscar and a lot of money
Griezmann wanted and could still happen
Isco not likely
Lacazette won't happen
Sterling of interest but likely to go to City
Douglas Costa gone to Bayern
Hope this is of interest until ed02 comes back. Anyway, keeps the site ticking over.

Some might say Isco is more likely than Griezmann at the moment.

On another note, I wouldn't go anywhere near Sterling the way that boy is acting. anyone would think he was one of the best players in the world! The boy has done nothing to warrant his attitude!!

It's definitely of interest, Jkb, but I hope it's not true. Don't take it the wrong way though :-)
I really want Varane, he should be the number 1 priority this summer IMO. We would finally have a worthy successor for Terry. Rahman coming in for Luis would be great. He's young, he's already good so that would be a shrewd move. Pogba would be fantastic but I wouldn't give up Oscar for him. Oscar is too important and I'll be devastated if he ends up being sold. The rest doesn't look very likely as you posted.
So it doesn't look too good yet IMO. Still plenty of time to change though :-)

Pogba is the only person I would be willing to give up Oscar in order to bring him in. The way I look at it is the way Jose plays is with two more defensive guys and Jose clearly prefers fabregas to Oscar so this would better suit him. The thing that sells me is right now I can't make an argument that we have the best midfield in the world. Swap Oscar and pogba (and the vast amounts of cash) and I could make a very good argument that we have the best midfield in the world.

Isco is a lovely player, but doesn't feel a very Mourinho player. Oscar inconsistent though so could be very good business.

Pogba would be one of the few players who'd walk into the team.

I'll stand by my current stance, Oscar is practically irreplaceable. Our play is so so much more fluent with him on the pitch. Pogba wouldn't be able to replicate what Oscar brings to the team IMO. I'd still like to see Pogba though, and he could provide competition for Fabregas and perhaps even for Willian with Oscar then moving to the right in such instances.
And Nathswindon, I'd say the opposite. Isco feels very much like a Mourinho player. He's creative, has lovely footwork, fantastic technique, but he also performs his defensive duties very well. I'd love him here, but I struggle to see where he'd fit with Oscar already here.

If Isco were available, for me he'd replace Oscar. I'm with you Jackson, he has a great workrate and is very forward thinking in possession.

Isco would be the only player that could perhaps perform the same role as Oscar for us. I truly struggle to think of other players who could do it. I really like Isco and enjoy watching him play, but I love Oscar. And I want Oscar to stay with us till he retires haha :)

If we could get top dollar for oscar now and replace him with isco I would take that, as if oscar had another bad season as the last 2 for us his price would definitely drop

ED018 - with both Barca and Man City, seemingly, pulling out of the running for Pogba do you see Chelsea pushing for a deal?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - they had a bid rejected recently so that indicates to me they still are very interested. We'll have to wait and see though}

Ed018 - any chance you can give us updates on what's happening behind the scenes on the CFC front at the moment?

{Ed018's Note - I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes at Chelsea}
