ED002 the Sunday Telegraph say that we are also again interested in Higuan is this correct? {Ed002's Note - I am surprised if the Sunday Telegraph is saying that Chelsea are "interested in" in Gonzalo Higuain, rather than perhaps speculating about interest.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

''Chelsea has stepped up efforts over acquiring either Falcao or Higuaín this January, as representatives fly out to Madrid'' That is the actual quotes ED002 is it true that we are looking at Higuan? {Ed002's Note - Sounds like poor editing. I am aware of one person going to Madrid earlier this week - so sounds like shoddy copy editing to me.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Has the person flew out for transfer business ED? {Ed002's Note - Broadly speaking, yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Care to share what Player/Players ED? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new to report or say. People travel to different cities all of the time in relation to transfers, loans etc..}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ED btw you sounded suprised in the initial post about what the Sunday Telegraph said in the article are they normally a reliable news outlet? {Ed002's Note - I would not try to read anything in to what I wrote that was not actually there. That is how rumours start.}

Ed 002 Do you think Torres improved form will make the signing of an expensive striker, Falcao for example, less likely ?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are actively looking for strikers. That is not going to change.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Yes I do understand that Ed 002 and I have followed your comments closely but I wondered if the sights might be lowered if FT continues to improve?
I cant imagine RA spending say £40m on Falcao if Torres form continues to improve can you?
Many thanks. {Ed002's Note - Whatever you want. I assume that you think if he has a bad game next time out the plans will change again?}

Agree0 Disagree0

No I qualified my statement by saying if he continues to improve.
And I was asking for your opinion as to whether the club might go for a cheaper option.
You normally say the club are considering a series of options hence my question.
If nothing is agreed or signed with anyone currently surely Torres form over the next month would influence the level of spending? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to keep giving the same answer - believe whatever you want.}

Agree0 Disagree0

OK.. if you are saying Torres performance levels in the next month will have no bearing on who we sign then I disagree.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because ed002 hasn't given u the answer that u want why are u having a go at him/her.

Ur question has been answered so why ask it in a different way and then start to get all childish with ed. U n0b.

We have a 40m budget and if he doesn't score we have 45 and when he scores couple goals it goes down to 30m and after 12hrs without a goal it goes up to 70 million lol ha

Agree0 Disagree0

So do you think if Torres goes on a run of scoring in the next 7 games the club will still push the boat out and sign Falcao at £40m?
Its possible Benitez has found the answer to Torres.
We all now the club are looking at several strikers from Bony at around £10/15 to Falcao at £40m. {Ed002's Note - Just let it drop please. It is just nonsense.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That response was not directed to you Ed 002 but to Ads.

Is it not permitted to respond to other posters? {Ed002's Note - Of course it is, but perhaps we would better understand that if you addressed it to Ads and signed your posts.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Scoring in two games does in no way cancel out the 2 years of poor performances we have had to endure. We need an alternative/replacement striker but i don't think it will be falcao.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think the fact that Torres has scored 4 goals in his last two games and if he goes on to keep scoring will change the clubs striking targets. If we're to challenge for the league and cups in the future we need top class strikers.

I'm still hoping Torres comes gd and the last two games have looked gd but only the next few months will tell. But I'd also love falcao or cavani.

My point was clearly put, IF Torres continued scoring for say the next 4/6 weeks, would the club consider looking at cheaper options?
Assuming no one has been signed currently we will have 2/3 options if not more that have been scouted and contact made with agents.
Those options will likely range from established world stars to promising younger players.
I am clear we will sign at least one striker its just the level I am questioning.
I am asking/suggesting that the club might put off a major (£40/50m) signing until the summer IF Torres continues to improve.
I also wonder what effect Benitez might have on the situation.

Hey Ed, any truth in we are interested in Robert Soldado ? {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool did show some interest in Soldado as did Napoli, Milan and PSG. However, Valencia wanted him to stay and he signed a new deal in the summer.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

So Ed is that a yes or a no? {Ed002's Note - I don't know why I bother. Perhaps we should have a yes/no page for the halfwits.}
