I hope this happens,it makes a lot of sense to send our young players out on loan in the same league as ourselves. Plus we get to watch them week in,week out. I would like the same to happen with lukaku.

Did Chelsea take their place? No! I prefer it that we qualified as WINNERS who always go straight to the group stages and therefore only three other English teams could qualify.
Quite simply Spurs didnt meet the standards to qualify!

I don't understand why we are buying a replacement or ivanovic. He is immense although people say he can't attack when he scored 5 goals this season and he has also proven to be a good all round right back by getting in the premier league team of the year as right back in 2010.

He stated he doesnt want to play RB - he wants to play CB. Hes happy to COVER at RB but not be the default player for that position. If its clear he IS that player he may leave even though he doesnt want to.
We need a 1st Choice RB, with Ivan as cover for RB and an option at CB.

Does anyone think David Luiz would be a good right back? I just dont see the point in buying VDW since we have ivanovic and i think Luiz could do a job there.

He played at LB a bit while at Benfica, from what i have read it was not a success, with particular trouble coming at the hands of Hulk i believe. Luiz IMO has the potential to be one of the best CBs in world football, both defensively and going forward, he should not be shipped out to other positions.
Ask yourself is it his best position and is he the best guy to play RB for the team?And also he wasn't purchased for that
His best position is CB, he was bought to play CB and he's at most comfortable at CB, what's the point of playing at RB?
Think luiz is better suited to R.B position.He has flare and good abiltiy to run and progress with the ball.It would appear that he is more natural and instinctive if u like to want to go forward which could make him a bit unreliable playing as a CB because he often gets caught out of position being to far up the field.
Whilst it might have been true he made some positional misjudgements early on, his late season form was world class imo- Centre Back no question
He will be one of the best CB in the world in the next 2-3 years. The only position i want to see him played, if he is going to act as cover would be holding mid. Would love to see it for warm up friendlies.

I am not convinced that Bilboa will want to sell the player any time soon, and if they do they will want 40M euro with Barcelona and Real Madrid being possible destinations. Garcia has signed a new deal at Benfica so I imagine Martinez will become a serious target for Manchester City who may also face interest from Manchester United.}
