What about this for a proposition; offer £22.5-27.5 mil plus Meireles  for Cavani: Napoli accept the offer, however as part of the deal Cavani is to be loaned back to Napoli for the season with the option of Chelsea recalling him. That way Cavani can develop even further as a player as he is spending one more season with a guaranteed first team spot in Italy. If Torres ain't banging in the goals by January then we can recall Cavani to provide another option up front. All parties would be happy with this deal as Cavani himself would have got his wish of leaving Napoli  in a dignified way towards the Napoli fans which he respects so much. Napoli's president would have also got his wish of keeping Cavani for another season plus around £25 mil in his pocket. Even if Torres has a wonderful season and we don't need to recall Cavani, when Cavani joins up next summer Torres would know he's the main man at the club and that Cavani will be the one needing to earn his place, not the other way round. Thought guys? MB

Are you being serious or is this a wind up, get a grip of yourself. CFCBLUEBOY.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

A good idea but personally i hope another striker is not brought in. we have lukaku torrs sturridge and possibly the signing of hulk, thats 4 players that can play as a striker and generally chelsea play a 4-3-3 formation meaning we only use 1 stiker on the pitch. give lukaku a chance next season from the bench, you dont pay the amount we did for a player and not give him a chance to prove himself, hes young, hungry for game time and very raw and unpredictable which at times is a advantage against defenders.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two words: GET REAL!

It doesn't work like that in real football world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats too much for a player to loan back and he dont need to further develop seen as he is 25, another 2-3 years and he will be at his peak. Chelsea need a striker like him now. He made so many goals for Napoli by pulling defenses apart. Having him and Torres up front working the spaces and playing off the shoulder of the last defenders will open up space for wingers and Hazard to attack. Cavani broke our offside trap countless times, he was frightening against us. He is deffo worth the money but Chelsea need to act now or other clubs will pounce on him, Real and Man City are also interested but they have too many big names for him to break into the 1st eleven, he would go straight into ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

No wat

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be ideal mate but id give it a 4/10 in realistic-ness

Jm10

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be a bad deal for chelsea, would rather have miereles for the season!

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a fantastic idea mate although I think that it is highly unlikely to occur. For the person who said that this ain't how football works or something like that that's ridiculous cause this is exactly how football works; COMPLICATED DEALS!!

Agree0 Disagree0

How old are you .. ?
Now behave

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say that's a bit harsh Blueboy considering the lad has just come up with an idea different to anyone else's.  At least explain why you have such a strong option against it.  Stubbs

Agree0 Disagree0

You either have Cavani or Torres. Not both. And paying that kind of money on a player you won't have immediate control of is not smart.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats with this you either have Torres or Cavani, you cant have both rubbish. Its not like Drogba and Torres, Cavani is a very different player to both Torres and Drogba, you either havent seen him play or you dont have a clue what your talking about. Chelsea would be mad to miss out on him, Cavani could walk into any top European team. Hulk has a bad attitude, very average player who has a good looking record because he played in the J League, I dont remember once seeing him playing well for Porto against big teams, Cavani is a proven quality player and has no strings attached.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we pay £27m + meireles, loan him back for the season. What if he breaks his leg in November?

Kenny

Agree0 Disagree0

So we pay £27m + Meireles, loan him back for next season. What if he breaks his leg in November?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani very rarely gets injured. Plus he would be able to recover in time for next summer. Considering his worth and his ability I think this sounds like a very good deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to the last point, it doesn't matter how injury prone a player is, Kenny has a point, if he breaks his leg, he breaks his leg. I don't regularly snap my limbs but if I get hit by a car......

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love Cavani and Torres playing together and I think i may work .. I honestly dont fancy Hulk . but buying a 25 y.o established forward and loaning him back is a bit daft ..
Honestly i cant see Cavani happening , and it would be a major shock if plays for us

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF - what happens if we sign him outright and he breaks a leg. What happens if we dont and Torers breaks a leg in Nov. What if we get Hulk and he breaks a leg.

Fin stupid argument against the proposal.

Personally, I dont like it - but only becaus at 25 hes not going to get much better - so paying that kind of money and not having his services for a year is alittle daft - but still.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani loaned back? are you mad? cavani is class NOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Breaking a leg could happen at any time mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah, cos after no one breaking their lag at chelsea for years, our 3 most expensive players i all gonna suddenly break their legs! Get Real!

P.s. Original poster this is a decent idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so. with the first 2 not kaka though surely BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course, of course, and I'm Santa Clause. Would appreciate if you kept quiet about it. Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

You 100% sure hulk is signing tomorrow?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want Kaka, thats a big no-no.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not me. Go away

Jm10

Agree0 Disagree0

Hasnt Debuchy chosen Arsenal? and noway Kaka is comming. Hulk? but not by 6th.

Just thought i would mention that Hazard's training kit was no.17, De Bruyne's was 14, and Marin's was 21.Im not saying this will be their numbers, but seeing as Ed 002 mentioned earlier that a couple of players had done photo shoots it is a possibility that these will be their numbers.

Guys,

Who is impersonating me?! Reveal yourselves!!

But seriously, stop discrediting my brilliant name. Sign using your own names.

Samir

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Cant believe that you are trying to blemish my name even further OP, shame on you

Samir

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not just change the name you sign with. I doubt anyone will take any posts signed as Samir seriously anymore. While you are at it, maybe think about what you are writing and where you are getting the information before posting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, was wondering what your and other peoples thoughts on Maicon?

If he was to join? (not saying it will)

Gabz1

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Well we would get a good year out of him be good cover for a second year and he could help devolop a younger RB and for 6 mil its not a huge sum in football terms thesedays, even if this deal goes through i still think we will sign a young rightback hopefully Ceaser.

BlueBen

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2012 13:26:48
Don't need him! Not the player he used to be two years ago. Defensively very poor; just look what Gareth Bale did to him. Hes not even in the brazil squad any more. Not someone who would strike me as happy sitting on the bench as Ivanovic is much better at RB. Piszczek or azpilicueta much better options! MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Think elements of what you are both saying is right. Hes not what he used to be...but hes experienced and only 6 mill. good short term to help develop a youngster (maybe hutchinson? todd kane? or one bought this summer)

Gabz1

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure about Maicon, rate him better than Boswinga for pace, people slate him for his age but dont forget our star player who won us the Champions League was 34. Different club and a different league, id prefer Richards to be honest but you never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a decent piece of buisness. 6m for 2 years ofa pretty darn good right back is fair play. That being said I can't imagine vdw or azpilicueta being ready just yet. Also it depends on ivanovic.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

The people saying he is a good right back have obviously not watched him play for two years. MB

Ed, when you say its complicated with Ganso, is it due to players rights being owned by 3rd party's? {Ed002's Note - There is a whole host of complicated issues including sponsorship and other other stuff regarding timing of a transfer, valuation, difficult agents. I don't really want to open this up again - no doubt the search function will help.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Bloody brazilians hey? always having a fuss

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2012 23:24:48
ed, what is the situation with lucas Moura at the moment? {Ed002's Note - There is no chnage really - if he becomes available there will be interest from several clubs but for now he is not available. Chelsea have had a couple of bids rejected; Real Madrid offered a part exchange deal that was rejected; his agent still wants him to go to Inter in a complex part ownership deal; Manchester United could show an interest. If anything happens it will be dragged out for a while yet.}

Santos are 'listening for offers' for Ganso. Ed any chance on Ganso being a Chelsea player next season.

cfcbrisvegas {Ed002's Note - A bunch of issues remain with Ganso, not least his fitness after a series of injuries. At the right price Chelsea would be interested as there would be from Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Spurs, Manchester City and Manchester United. Ganso's preference is for AC Milan, or Barcelona if Milan cannot facilitate a move - perhaps including a player in exchange. All will have concerns about injuries of course. }
