I know youve already answered questions about ceser azpilicueta but what r the chances of us signing him and and wuld the move be in jan? Also wuld he be a regular ed?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I am not going to get dragged in to what are the chances and would he be a regular. I get them wrong and I get trashed by the vegetables.}

I think there's a fair chance that if we were to sign a decent right-back, they'd be pushing for a regular starting spot....when I look at the alternatives, I can't reach any other conclusion! {Ed002's Note - Keep in mind that clubs buy for a squad.}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED - of course, I understand the requirement and also to have strength in depth. Personally I feel that a 'natural' right-back is a position we haven't been the most competitive in. :-)

Ed, is there any interest in Toni Kroos? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed002: here on the main page it is suggested that Chelsea is to bid for Necastle's Cabaye. And that was before the game. I was actually impressed with his performance. Have you heard of any interest? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Eds: will we finally let Obi and his best mate Kalou go? {Ed002's Note - I cannot answer compound questions sensibly - it is a complete waste of my time. Sorry.}

Ed002. Please tell me that those random rumours that I have no idea where comes from about Chelsea being interested in Frimpong are absolute rubbish. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any interest from Chelsea in Frimpong.}

Thank you!

ed can you inform us with anything that might have popped up recently that might have an impact on any players coming in or going out? i have read about eduardo vargas, what sort of player is he were does he play and is it likely he'll join. I've also seen that kalou has been linked with marseille, is this likely? I also know that AVB wants a massive aquad overhaul. will big players like lampard terry and drogba leave in january or the summer and if terry and lampard were to leave do you think they would go to another club or just retire? Because ive read that lampard may be used in a deal for modric but i cant see it happening

thanks
webbo {Ed002's Note - I though I had dealt with most of this already, but here goes again. Eduardo Vargas has to be a possibility but with interest from Italy and serious interest from Inter I suspect England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia. Certainly there has been interest from Italian and English clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Palermo and probably others) but there are concerns from the English clubs as to whether or not he will be able to obtain international clearance immediately. If he were to move and go on loan, then the club is taking a risk that he continues to play competitive internationals for his country. Kalou to Marseille was something else I thought I had dealt with, but again: Olympiakos approached Chelsea in early November with an offer to take Kalou in January but the player has no interest in a move to Greece. Previously there had been interest from Turkey but that has seemingly waned. Marseille have made an enquiry but the poroblem may well be wages. If that can be resolved it could provide a solution that suits everyone. Additionally, Chelsea are interested in a Marseille player (as I have previously explained) and it may be possible something could be done that would see the club help facilitate a move for Kalou. I have no idea about Lampard being used in any deal for Modric and no idea what is happening with him at all - as I explained yesterday. He is fit, scoring goals and not complaining to the press about having to adapt to not being first choice all the time - the ideal player to have really. As for overhauling the squad, this is not an idea or desire of AVBs, it is simply a result of players being stable at the club for many years resulting in them getting older togeather. The last two summers have seen several more mature players leave and that process will continue. But it is an issue the club would have had to dealt with regardless of who the manager is.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Why oh why would spurs be interested in Lampard in a deal for Modders ?? Come on get serious , we turned down more than what the entire chelski O A Ps are worth together already !

Ed002: Well we knew that for a while now, but it came official of Alex and Anelka leaving. It is obvious we need a replacement for Alex at least, even if we are lucky with the injury list this term. Hopefully we sign Cahill, whom i really rate highly.

Kalou hasn't signed, Drogba is about to leave either in Jan or come summer, we surely need players to carry this team not in 3 years time, but today. Do you expect forward players arriving in January? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate when players will arrive. Chelsea have well understood interest in certain forward players as we have discussed and they are not going to buy just for the sake of it if players they want are not available.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ED002: this is afair and valid point. Now i do not believe we will get Higuain for a lot of reasons, while he is the mosttalket target. There issome Hulk and Pato talk, do you think there is a genuine interest in either one of them? {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to discussing random names particularly when they have been discussed at length. Cheslea have players they are interested in and to start suggesting genuine interest or not in others is pointless.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED002: then how would you expect to ask you this question? I do not know what forwards is CFC interested in, other than Higuain. There was an interest in Pato before, he looks like might be available, and that is why i'm asking you this question. You surely do know more tahn you say, that is you right, but you share some more light? Who are those we are intersted in?

Also i have just read AVB's interview. Among other things he discusses the way he sees his number six, or DM, if you will. Not only he requires him to defend or take out opposition's number ten, but also he requires him to pass well and join the attack. There are very few of this kind - Alonso, deRossi and M'Villa. Can't seem to be able to land the first two, but are we interested in Yann M'Villa? {Ed002's Note - I explained the interest in Higuain and immediately you dismissed it and for some reason bring up Pato again. I have explained Chelsea have also made an enquiry for Cavani but it would be most difficult for Napoli to seel at this time and the player has a desire to play in Spain. I don't know what interview you are referring to or what he said so I can't help you there. Romeu was bought in the summer. Perhaps he is referring to Fernando. Inter, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchestewr City, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea showed an interest or enquired about M'Vila this past summer. M'Vila will almost certainly not move until the summer. A very significant bid from Manchester City has already been turned down. With that offer that was made for M'Vila in the summer Rennes have upped their valuation of the player to an extent where Creachcadec has said no Italian team can aford M'Vila. I would expect that there may be interest in him from PSG and possibly Real Madrid by the time he comes up for sale in the summer. Regardless of any slight interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, I would be astonished if M'Vila moved in January. Depending what happens with managers and coaches and finances in the summer, if pushed I suspect a move to Real Madrid may be the best option for him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED002: Thank you for your prompt and ectensive response. I do not dismiss an interest in Higuain, but frankly we are talking aboit a star forward regulary playing under Mourinho at Bernabeu and unless RM have other plans for forward line, how is he leaving in the middle of the season. He can't be registered for later CL stages next year, which msy not be thus much of an obstacle if we crash out next week to Valencia. I don't doubt we would pay the mentioned price and obviously at his age and scoring performances, he surely is a worthwile investment, but it is just so many obstacles i see in aquiring him. Same aplies to Cavani, as you have thoroughly have explained. Therefor if these two can't or won't happen over January, with Anelka leaving the club and Kalou and Drogba leaving for ACN at least, our numbers in forward line are slim. To me it suggest we will have to add IN January. Don't you think?

ed what are the plans for mceachran in january as its stupid having him and not ever playing him {Ed002's Note - I think there is a good chance of a loan but nothing is decided. It is nothing "stupid" - he is a kid and not raedy for teh EPL week in week out.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

But he never even comes on as a substitute {Ed001's Note - because he is still young.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but cesc and Jack Wilshere were playing atb his age and messi and rooney and ronaldo he must not be on there level then we should say we are chelsea if your not that good leave or were never hit our goals just cos he is english if he was any other he would cost about 3 million and thats a fact !!! boooom

Agree0 Disagree0

You cannot compare him to Messi, Rooney, Ronaldo and players like that! They were all exceptional players for there age. How many players do you see breaking through into the top clubs at the age of 18?! Not many! Give the boy time, he is going to be a big player for this club. {Ed001's Note - I completely agree, it is a stupid suggestion to get rid of a player simply for not being ready at 18!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilshere couldn't get into the Arsenal team so ent on loan to Bolton. Ramsey's injury opened the door for him to get a run in the team....that could be at his detriment as he has now had a couple of long-term injuries.

ed r chelsea willing to sell lampard next year as he is declining fast and does not suit avb style oof play at all todays match he was constantly coming towaards defenders to get the ball and keeping it for about 20 seconds when clearly avb wants fast quick movement of the ball and players moving which mceachran does perfectly and much better than lamps a legend but cant adapt to new chelsea {Ed002's Note - I don't know that there is any particular view on the subject. And nothing would happen without discussions with teh player. Should the player decide to move on that is a different matter but it is unfair to say that he does not suit any particular style of play, and he is in really good shape.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I think that a lot of people that use this site are unfair to him and I think it is disgusting when I see him named among the players at the club people think should be moved on (although whoever post this had the courtesy not to name him amongst the likes of Kalou and Malouda, unlike some others). It is ridiculous to claim he is past it and the lack of respect shown by some Chelsea fans is astonishing. To use the word 'deadwood' (again this poster hasn't) in reference to a player that has given so much to the Chelsea over the last decade is so grossly disrespectful it leads me to wonder how long some of the people here have supported the club. I understand he is no spring chicken, but he has hit good form at points this season (second top goalscorer anyone?) and his response to criticism in the media and being left out of the team says everything about the man and shows a strength in character which the kids would be wise to try and learn from. I am by no means saying he should be playing week in week out, and that is something he will have to come to terms with himself, but I will be genuinely gutted when he leaves the club. He is probably the greatest player to have pulled on the shirt and say that with the utmost respect to players such as Zola, Ossie, JT, Charlie Cooke, Jimmy Greaves and all the other greats that have passed through the club over the years. I just hope some of the opinions expressed on here are from the minority because I for one hope Frank is knocking around proving people wrong for a little while longer.

Ed im glad your not the manager he was good once but now hes to slow and dull {Ed002's Note - You should get yourself a Lampard out flag and start some sort of Facebook campaign going to force him out of the club. Twitter is a good way to get such movements going as well.}
