1) Is Pato a serious target for Chelsea Football club? Or is it just the media making it up? How much would he cost?

2) Are we any closer in striking a deal for modric?

Thanks greatly appreciated. {Ed018's Note i'll be interested in seeing were the Pato link goes. I think there will be another bid for Modric coming soon}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

God i hope the pato thing is not true....he is not that good

Agree0 Disagree0

Pato's not gonna wanna come to the PL he's to pussy for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know how anyone could not want pato, i'd get rid of ramires just so he could have his #7 shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Pato is not priority for CFC. How many time a we going to say that our weakness is creativity in the middle and wings in which positions Pato does not play. Besides the guy is VERY injury prone and not automatic starter for Milan... then why do we think he will be too Gud for us..... the fee mentioned is very ridiculous.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Reasons for Chelsea wanting Pato: He is 21, 22 in September, so still very young. He has a lot of Champs league experience, plus experience playing for Brazil where he leads the line. He can also play wider and cut in, his speed and technical skil on the ball mean he is a threat running at players. He knows where the goal is having so far scored 50 goals in 102 games for Milan, a very solid record for a younger player. Most people expect AVB to play with three up front which either means two attacking wingers, or two wide strikers (or a mix), Pato could be a very good option for a wider striker role, flanking Torres or Drogba. I have no idea weather we are making moves to bring him to the club, but there is a reason the media have linked us to him, he is the sort of player i think AVB will be looking at, and could be a hit in the prem, he isnt as weak as some think, he has bulked up a bit over the years, and has the skill and ability to make things happen, and of course can score as well. I personally would be excited to have him at Chelsea, but at the same time wont loose sleep if the rumours turn out to be nothing but media gossip.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see pato come to chelsea he's a great lad

let's look at it this way guys, in most cases whatever/whoever we sell if that makes sense we must replace in some way. With Kalou, Anelka, and Malouda possibly leaving, the positions left empty have got to be filled, so replacements are very likely to come

brian

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Who are the replacements who would be an improvement for a reasonable fee?
We dont have an unlimited budget like Citeh and we do have to consider the forthcoming 'fair play' regulations.
So far we have only signed kids that no one else of note wanted.
Modric remains the most likely, but he isnt a replacement for any of the players you mention.

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as avb hears that a first team (week in week out player) will be moving clubs, changes will be made at the club as it will be imperative that they are made. I dont know who they'll be it depends on what players move and who Chelsea want really, AVB isnt one to buy any old player.

Ed, will Anelka, Malouda and Kalou be shipped out this window as they offer us no width or quality what so ever? {Ed002's Note - Probably, maybe, possibly.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Kalou had his best goalscoring season with 13 goals despite mostly being in the bench.
Anelka offers cover for Drogs who is off to the ACN.
Malouda makes more goals than anyone else in the current squad despite a poorish last season.
Sounds like a great plan..NOT..UNLESS we can find better players at a reasonable price which seems unlikely currently.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like two of them to leave but I would like kalou to stay because he is a beast

Agree0 Disagree0

Malouda was'nt able to see the pass he accidently made through to Torres against Villa intentionally, That for me shown he is not as effective at creating or seeing the passes when they are there to be made. Kalou will be ok as a squad player no more And Anelka is good enough to stay but with him being 33 and his contract ending next year do you think Chelsea will want to let him run it down by staying and go on a free, or get what they can for him now?

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably, maybe, possibly... ED you are a plonker

Agree0 Disagree0

No smart-ass you are the plonker, that question has been asked and answered about 100 times already over the past 2 months, your as thick as pig sh1t

Can one of the eds please tell me what happened with Alex's proposed move away earlier in the summer? Was it supposed to be to Bayern, I can't remember now? And if so, did it collapse because of their increased interest in City's Boateng, who they eventually got? Thanks a lot in advance. {Ed002's Note - Alex was an alternative to Boateng at Bayern.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

It's strange how we value current players at Chelsea, when people list there players OUT they value them cheaply which shows no one thinks we have truly world class players barring Torres and Terry. And I would agree when u can list 4 or 5 of our first 11 and they are valued less than 15 Million that tells you something

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Ofcourse we have quality, RAMIRES, LUIZ, Torres, Mceachran, A. COLE, Drogba, TERRY, IVANOVIC, ALEX, CHECH, Benayoun, Sturridge. Notice how theres not a lot of attacking options there though, no width or decent wingers. Malouda and Kalou especially offer chelsea nothing going forward and cannot run at players and take them on as well as say a Silva would or a Nani would. This is Chelsea's problem, no width and not much creativity in the centre of the midfield all the other areas for me are covered, if we get some players in the right players I dont think many teams will stop us, not even Barca because as i have said we have one of the best goalkeepers in the world one of the best defences and 2 of the best strikers in the world already we just need some world class suppliers and we will be rockin

Agree0 Disagree0

Because the majority of them are 30+ or useless in the case of kalou

Agree0 Disagree0

John Terry concerns me slightly at CB. He has obvious leadership skills and HAS been a world-class defender. I think this may be a season which sees the start of his decline. Possibly a controversial statement, but we'll see what happens.

I don't know why but i am feeling a lot more confident regarding our transfer activity than i was last week. I honestly feel that AVB and Roman have got plans and have executed them exactly how they wanted to regardless of the murmurings from fans and pundits. I feel something interesting will happen before the window closes, whether it be signing Modric plus 1/2 others or scrapping the Modric transfer and going after someone else. By the time the MU game comes around in September i reckon we will have won all of our games and the new players will be fully settled in. AVB is a very tactile and clever man, he will have plans, ALOT of them, Roman is a clever and ambitious man, he will do everything to get us at the top, why would he settle for second best?? I feel whilst people have been getting restless looking at the signings and activities of other clubs, AVB and Roman have been silently planning and preparing for the coming season, i can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most excited and confident i have been about Chels starting a season than i have since Mourinho first arrived.

In AVB and Roman we trust. Come on the Blues

looks like were back in for pato, what d'you think of this ed? the price is set to be 20million and anelka or kalou i think pato would be a great signing.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

ED02 do you know in the past any player's that chelsea wanted but us the fans may not be aware of any suprising names? {Ed002's Note - I am not sure I understand the question.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He means have there been any players we were in for but the public didn't know about? {Ed002's Note - OK, right. Obviously yo will not be surprised to hear that I don't know what the public know and what they don't know - so I cannot answer the question.}

Chelsea will offer Milan £30 million + anelka or Kalou for Alexandra Pato.

Good move Chelsea he is quality. Neymar, Kaka and Modric to follow.

Ins.
Paizon = 10 Million
Courtois = 7 Million
Romeu = 5 Million
Pato = 30 Million
Neymar = 42 Million
Kaka = 28 Million
Modric = 32 Million

Total = 154 Million

Outs.
Zhirkov = 14 Million
Alex = 12 Million
Kalou = Pato Deal
Malouda = 15 Million
Mikel = 15 Million
Anelka = 8 Million

Total = 64 Million
Which means we spend £90 Million this summer

Believable3 Unbelievable10

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are living in a fantasy world my friend...

Agree0 Disagree0

You will be seriously disappointed if you think that is what will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neymar not coming
Kaka is rubbish
Modric not allowed to come

Mikel won't be allowed to go
Anelka will rather stay

Agree0 Disagree0

No Chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Malouda will not leave.
he is allowed to but he doesnt want to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt even Man City would buy Pato, Neymar, Kaka AND Modric haha. Ridiculus.

15m for Malouda, £10m much more realistic. 15m for Mikel? More chance seeing a rocking horse s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dreeeeeeeeeeam, dream dream dream...

Pato - AC Milan's love child - 1% chance.

Neymar - Real Madrid if anywhere - 0.1% chance

Lukaku - Likely.

Kaka - Will not be playing in the PL - 0.5% chance.

Modric - Possible - If you cought up the money and Redknapp finds a replacement - 20% chance.

Paizon - possibly...if your lot even want him.

Courtois - No idea.

You won't get anywhere near the money you have suggested for your outs and Anelka won't be going anywhere IMO.

Your figures are way out and Ins and also way out.

Sorry to burst your bubble...

RobbehLFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dnt want kaka or modric. i wud of rather had pjanic and hamsik, we need left and right wingers, a and a right bk

Sorry to burst your bubble be we've signed piazon and courteous so STFU

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do liverpool fans always try to put downers on us id worry more about your own team than ours another year of no europe and yet another finnish out the top four on the cards

chelsea till i die

Agree0 Disagree0

It is possible that we may finish out of the top four again I agree. But then again, it's possible we will finish above you - wait until the players put their shirts on their backs.

I wasn't putting any fans 'down'. I simply pointed out you wouldn't be signing that selection of players and the lad who posted it was dreaming (do you disagree?)

And secondly to the lad who told me to stfu....you have signed two players I have never heard of (congratulations)...Further more I don't see anything in the media about those players signing for Chelsea (but you know more about your club that I do)....But the headlines speak for themselves...They must be AWESOME

RobbehLFC {Ed002's Note - I think folks were simply pointing out your lack of knowledge when two of the players have already signed, and there are offers on the table for a couple of others.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I appreciate I don't know as much about Chelsea as you and the fans Ed002 (As I said in my previous post)...

However I would struggle to believe there are offers on the table for Neymar, Pato, Kaka and Modric?? (Modric, possibly)

RobbehLFC {Ed002's Note - Nobody suggested that there was. There are offers for certainly Neymar and Modric (although I know nothing of this). There may be something in respect of Pato being considered.}

Best of luck for the new season...(your best signing yet = AVB)

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea would be better if they had the even better wonderkid pato

Agree0 Disagree0

To RobbehLFC, now then boy there's no need to be jealous, whether we sign any of these players or not we will still finish above The pool Why is it so hard to believe, Neymar bid on the table, Modric bid on table and possibly being increased, Pato bid being considered, kaka if available for 25 million then why the he'll not. Good to leaky Liverpool for the coming season good in attack however can't see them keeping a clean sheet with the old liverpudlion

Agree0 Disagree0

... The clueless bald headed guy and that Greek fellow at the back. If you havn't seen lucus paizon the YouTube him because he is awesome and is the future of Brazilian attacking midfielders.

Oh and thanks for the support and backup ed truly u are a legend.

hello ed , i am a Glasgow rangers fan and I considder Chelsea my second team and am buzzing for the friendly , just want to know if you know if any you're fringe players could be sent out on loan to us ? also best of luck in the forthcoming season {Ed018's Note - its possible some of the kids could be sent out on loan, i haven't heard of any talk of who yet. but to rangers, i doubt it}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

They won't loan out any because they want them to get Premier League experience NOT Scottish/Irish league experience which is much much slower and less competitive.
