ED002 is it true we asked malaga about the availibility of Cazorla before we signed oscar? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Kojo Terry {Ed002's Note - No insects at all.}

Would love to see Hamsik at Chelsea.
So energetic!

Alri ed jus wondering how often does the chelsea players get drug tested i was watching a program a while ago and there was a former chelsea player saying some players dont get tested in there whole career if should there not be more regular tests done tnx {Ed002's Note - Most clubs, including Celsea, run annual tests at least. They can also be tested as part of competition on an ad hoc basis.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

An excellent question. I work on the railways and get drug tested. Surely footballers (who are role models for many kids) should have random drug tests. {Ed002's Note - Fortunately I work in an industry where we don't get tested. My performance rarely improves.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Suppose it depends if you got adrian mutu at your club you need regular drug tests if thats the case ;)

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you ed i personally think they should be tested after every game and the ref could give them to an fa offical thank you for anserin i no it wasnt a transfer question on a transfer page ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Post-Adrian Mutu I would hope the club is a little more thorough. I'm sure that was a lesson learnt. It's a shame the footballing lifestyle is so conducive to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

On that program it said clubs run tests on players and wen there found positive some clubs say the player has a long term injury i hoghly doubt this is true because the football clubs wouldn be that stupid to risk possible expelsion from leagues if they were caught doing this id say

Agree0 Disagree0

I can fully believe that some club would do that, or even turn a blind eye. Not all, but some.

ED002 has de bruyne agreed to go to werder bremen on loan?

Also reports in spain suggest we have askeed about Cazorla's availability is this true? {Ed018's Note - It seems that De Bruyne is headed to Werder. I believe they enquired about Carzola's avalibility before the whole Oscar deal had been agreed}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Do you expect Cazorla to move to Arsenal Ed? I think they could have a very strong attack next year if they do sign him.

Cheers {Ed018's Note - it's very possible. It may depend on Malaga being sold or not}

Hello Ed is chelsea interested in a Defensive midfielder if so who would it be? {Ed002's Note - No.}

I think Chelsea need a striker who isn't egotistical an who is willing to come off the bench 30games a season and start only 10 or 15 an who can produce more goals than Kalou did. any suggestions of who could fill this role?

my first thought would be Hunterlaar but maybe he wouldnt want to be a starter.

One Bomb Tom

Believable2 Unbelievable5

What about defoe? Just as a stop gap.

Luke

Agree1 Disagree1

Berbatov

Agree0 Disagree1

Defoe is a gd shout luke. Hes always got the potential to get a few goals.

Ads

Agree0 Disagree1

Panic stations or what.."

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather defoe than huntelaar

plus defoe for reasons unbeknown to anyone he knows whats its like to be on the bench at tottenham

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Huntelaar was only behind RvP, Messi, Ronaldo and Gomez for goals last year. I don't see him as a stop gap for anyone. I also don't think Defoe is the solution. Playing our system I personally think we need a striker with a presence and some physicality.

LJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Soldado?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im guesing Defoe would cost what, 5,6,7 mil? Huntalaar 15-25. As a back up I think its good buisness. Quick feet, pace and can make a goal out of nothing. More than that he is used to be a sub/ squad player. I have always rated him and I know Jose did.
Luke

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see a Gudjohnson type player in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go for carroll or bellamy . bellamy is doin well for team gb carroll is getting better and did well at euro 2012

We want a striker bellamy is a winger these days plus hes like 32

Well just a thought.....we are looking for another or may be a back up striker for Torres. All big name strikers are linked

Falcao: A very good striker but he is not interested in leaving Atletico Madrid nor club wants to sell their top player.

Cavani: Again a very good proven player but will be very expensive as Napoli wont let him go for less than 40M GBP.

Hulk: Again he is good but i do not think 40m price tag is worth for him.

Schurle: Our 19m bid was rejected for him, as Byren Leverkusen not intrested in sellin their start player, We can get him only if we will put some crazy money for youngster of more than 25m and i do not think it will happen.

Lewandowski: Again Dortmund are reluctant to let go their striker cheaply so will ask for 30m and i do not think we will bid so much for him.

Jovetic: Young Fiorentina man is good back up to Torres but the 30m price tag is too much for us to bid for.

Victor Moses: We are close to sign him but i can not see him as a back up striker, he is more likely as winger.

We all know F. Torres will lead our attack in next season. But what will happen if he gets injured, which means we will have just Daniel Sturridge as Lukaku seems to out on loan.

Chelsea are looking for some cheap options for striker role. May be they have some one in their mind apart from all above mentioned.

Here is my thought for back up option-

Berbatov: Well he is 30 yrs old rite now but at 4m price tag he is still good enough, he can surely give us at least 2 seasons before Lukaku or any other young striker from academy gets ready.

Strikers from manchester city such as Eden Zeko will be available if RVP joins manchester city. We can get him in 15m, would be great addition to our squad.He is 26 yrs old and can surely give next 4-5 years to us.

Sam

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Berba will be frustrating at times but his scoring record speaks for its self. I say look at defoe and berba :)

Agree0 Disagree0

So we let Kalou go only to then panic buy

Come on.........

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly panic buying they are both great strikers

Agree0 Disagree0

FFS both City and United will never sell to us, why can't you understand that in your fantasy world.

Ooouh they've paid like 30 million for Dzeko and they're going to sell him for 15 to...CHELSEA? Get real

Agree1 Disagree0

I think they should take a look at yakubu,his goals to game ratio in premier league is really good!

In my opinion, I think Markovic will join us in a couple of years after Torres goes, maybe in 2014/2015 when he has grown a bit, terrific young striker and his pace rivals that of Agbonlahor and Bent so he could be a great foil off Lukaku's strength and aerial dominance. Plus, he has made it clear his priority is Chelsea and his favourite player in history was Gianfranco Zola. On another more immediate note, if Whelan reckons Moses is worth 10 million, laugh in his face. Offer £5 million as the final offer and if Moses really wants to take a step up, he will hand in a transfer request like FT9 and Raul M had to because they genuinely wanted to join our club, not just get a better payroll. Markovic clearly wants to join us, not about Money, about playing for one of the clubs he loves. Moses isn't world-class, a squad player/sub at best and to be honest, I'd rather of seen a bid for Hoilett or Christian Tello who are both better players. Plus, we wouldn't have to pay a lot for either of those (but Hoilett will be available again after this season after QPR are relegated like they should have been). Also Eds, is it true that Piazon is wanted on loan by Southampton after KDB looks like going to Werder Bremen? Heard it on the grapevine, can't see it happening but would be a good idea in my opinion, also any truth to Marseille looking to loan in Kakuta?
Cheers for the hard work Eds,
CFCFOREVER!

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I seem to remember Eds saying Kakuta will be kept or sold, no loan deal. He's 22 now I believe and in my opinion needs to step up to the plate, alot given what I've seen of him, or be moved on swiftly. Bit of a let-down given all the hype when we first signed him.

Napoli and Cavani are covering their backs to make sure both parties and the fans are happy. If Cavani says he wants a move and no longer wants to play at Napoli then his price tag is thrown into question, just the same as Napoli saying they are willing to sell him. They will sell him to Chelsea but its a matter of the club putting the bid in. I dont care at the moment who we get as long as we get a proven goal scorer that can do the business for us, Moses does not fit the bill for me, only had a good 2nd half of last season, he inst proven over so many seasons. At this rate we might end up getting RVP lol

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Cos rvp had 1 good season so hes proven!

just wondering....... can Neymar play as an out and out striker because the whole Cavani saga is just getting ridiculous and watching Neymar at the olympics makes me wonder why Chelsea don't put down another bid for him. With Ganso maybe leaving Santos and Malouda perhaps joining them it gives Chelsea a link with Santos and therefore Neymar. He is a very talented young star and I think if Torres doesn't perform by January put a bid in for him. Maybe for Falcao as well if he is performing in Europe. Anyone agree?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

You think naymar wouldnt produce a saga ??

but in answer to your question i think neymar can play anywhere attacking

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a massive saga the last time we tried to sign him!

Agree0 Disagree0

True..... I didn't really think of that but he would be a fantastic talent though wouldn't he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Neymar will go to barca after the olympics in 2014 and barca also paid a down payment of 10m to santos {Ed018's Note - I assume you mean the World Cup}

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2012 15:19:51
Ed, rumours of Neymar possibly moving to Barcelona as early as this August, after the Olympics. If it looks like something is happening and the player has changed his mind about staying in Brazil, will we be in for him again? {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to open up the Neymar thing again.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Which translates to you not knowing?

Agree1 Disagree0

No it translates to he/she doesnt want to open up the neymar thing again considering they spent months on end explaining the neymar situation

curt

Agree1 Disagree0

Neymar has signed a pre contract with barcelona, he WILL be going there eventually {Ed002's Note - There is no "pre-contract" with Barcelona.

De Bruyne has been loaned out to Werder Bremen, expect confirmation shortly

Believable7 Unbelievable2

He should be loaned to a English club

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he should be loaned to an english club. an attacking english side where he would get minutes on the pitch, i.e. southampton would be perfect. he would be able to familiarise himself with the english league and the physical demands whilst showcasing his talents too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably have a loan with bremen then a loan next year with an english club then in the 3rd year join the chelsea 1st team

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree
Why do we loan players abroad when they need p/l experience

Agree1 Disagree0

It's good to have positive relationships with clubs like Bremen because they always have good young players coming through and they are a good side. Marin came from Bremen and he looks amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

The German league is at least more similar to the EPL than most other european leagues, and the standard of football is very good.

Chelsea won't be signing another striker before the season starts. They may want one but they won't get one. Cavani is overpriced by Napoli, he doesn't want to leave and his agent is just negotiating a better deal. Hulk is happy at Porto and they have priced him out of our reach anyway and won't budge on that. Jovetic prefers a move to Juventus and Wigan won't move on the Moses price as they will still get compensation for him if he leaves next season. Taking all that into account unless Chelsea have some alternative striker targets unknown to us, it ain't gonna happen. Especially as they won't just sign a striker for the sake of it and aside from those mentioned there isn't much quality about (RVP excepted and there's no way he's coming). So get used to just the 3 strikers next season Sturridge Torres and Lukaku with, hopefully, an increased goal threat from our attacking midfielders. Gourlay's talk of more signings is for the fans' benefit...keep them buying tickets etc.

BlueBruv

Believable5 Unbelievable13

What rubbish, of course we will, how will we manage with just Torres and lukaku if one injured ect...

Waste of time posting that crap

Agree1 Disagree0

You seem very sure of yourself considering there are quite a few weeks left of this window.
Any deal for the players you mention is bound to be last minute with the exception possibly of Moses.
I cant see us going into the new season without a decent back up for Torres which neither Sturridge or Lakaku provide.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, how stupid will you look when we buy a striker haha. If I were you, I would NEVER come out of the closet again :))

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you, apart from i believe we will get another striker, we will be playing almost 80 games this season and just due to the fact or sheer volume will will require another striker, i personally would like a quiet non ego type player that can come off the bench for 30 games and start 10, an still play with a smile and be happy. but i dont think they make players like that any more.
One Bomb Tom

Agree0 Disagree0

So you dont think RA will do another Torres and pay big money at the end of the window?

Sev

Agree0 Disagree0

Schurrle,lewandoski,falcao,cavani,jovetic,hulk,lorrente,doumbia,higuian plus a load more there is absolutly no way we wont sign a striker with lukaku going out on loan and the possibility of somthing like 80+ games this season there is no way chelsea will just use torres 1. he may not hit form again and 2. no one can play 80 games without burning themselves out the ST positon is one that chelsea will pay over the odds if they have to it is seriosuly important that the void is filled.

BlueBen

Agree0 Disagree0

Awfully stupid comment you have here . You will be sick when we do by a striker ,, seriously what made you write this dribble ? We have the super cup , premiere league , champions league , fa cup , carling cup , world club championship .. Its unthinkable that we dont get another striker .

Agree0 Disagree0

80 games?! haha now tthat is BS lol. We will play 68 IF we win every single game this year :L so prob closer to 5 or 60 :L 80 my as*

Agree0 Disagree0

Also lukaku on the verge of a loan move, meaning Chelsea must be confident of a striker arriving?

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect another striker to arrive plus a R/B
Also expect the Moses deal to go through
Drebs

Agree1 Disagree0

If im not mistaken 73 games could be the maximum (not including friendlies) and that is progressing as far as possible in all competitions but drawing all matches which could result in a replay. Please correct me if ive calculated wrong.

Sev

Agree0 Disagree0

Just did a quick calculation myself and I counted 71... I could be wrong though.. 38 for the Prem. 13 for the champions League (If we get to the final) 6 for the Carling cup (Again getting to the final) 1 for the super cup, 1 for the charity shield, 2 for the Club world cup (There is only one leg in the semi final, right?) and ten for the FA Cup (If we had all our matches go to replays and get to the final) Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... I'm currently extremely tired so have probably over/under calculated or even missed something..!

Ed I think we all know that Azpilicueta is our choice for right back and that you mention that his only concern in joining the Blues is will it damage his international chances Have CFC put a time limit as to when he will decide as I dont know if the transfer has reached the final negotiation stage
I presume RDM would like him bedded in before the 18th August and we dont want to lose sight of alternative targets if he decides to stay put {Ed002's Note - There is no time limit - it is in hand.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why the 18th of august?

I am hoping that we are going to give Torres at least until January to prove he is Drogba's replacement. Then if he isn't, I hope that we do a Player + cash swap for Falcao if he is doing as well as he has done so far.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Yeah,if he doesn't improve by January then I don't think he will ever get his form back.

Ed, any concerns with Azpilicueta's injury/medical history? He ruptured his cruciates a while back. {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Just cause he gets 1 injury in doesn't make him injury prone

Agree0 Disagree0

Cruciates isn't just any old injury though. At his age, though, it shouldn't be a concern.

Agree0 Disagree0

I did the same injury last year when I was 15 and according to the consultant doing it anytime in youR teens to early 20s can mean a high chance of a repeat injury. I'd imagine there shouldn't be too much concern because it's most worrying if you're still growing.

AK

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha first poster has been playing too much FM ... but fair play, good policy to check their medical history!

Hi Ed. Read all the posts re Cavani and appreciate we are very interested. He's told the Italian press (can't believe everything they say!) that he remains loyal to Napoli. Do you think he's actually interested in talking to Chelsea? With Jovetic looking like he's Juve-bound, Doumbia massively over priced, the Hulk saga becoming beyond ridiculous and Higuain content in Madrid...then we need to focus solely on Cavani. Could you see him wanting to leave Napoli yet? {Ed002's Note - I have o way to know what he himself thinks.}
