After looking in to this, it seems that the Santos web site and Portugese press release say euro 50M and the English and Italian press releases say $50M. To complicate it further, Tino Durante, his agent, quoted $55M in the press conference given at the time.

Sharkey.

Its likely Tino Durante has mistakenly said $50-55m as they are used to dealing in Dollars. Like i said yesterday i did a report on Ganso and he does have a 50m euro release clause in his contract, however sources close to the club say he and his colleague (Neymar) could be bought for no less than £30m each.

In my opinion Chelsea cannot and will not match that amount. People have also said on this site that Chelsea made two bids for Neymar, i can confirm this is actually false, a £16.6m bit was made (20m euros), Roman has only sanctioned a 16.6m deal for the striker, he will not go any higher than that. So chances of Chelsea getting Neymar or Ganso are very slim.

Lukaku or Andy Carrol are more likely targets at around 20m euros. Personally i believe Chelsea will try and tie down Kakuka & Borini and then use them, i cannot see Chelsea signing anyone over 20m euros again, that seems to be Romans new policy, Ramires cost exactly 20m euros after some very tough negotiations & he would not sanction more than that to bring Neymar to the club.

1905-CFC {ed's note - I believe Sharkey is correct mate, it is dollars as that is the accepted currency used in the Americas, they don't state things in Euros, you have to convert it. The only place I have seen it stated as Euros was goal.com and they are completely unreliable.}

I read it off of the Santos website when they gave Neymar his new contract, they used both sterling and euros but not US Dollars, i will see if i can find it for you but his clause is 1000% 50m euros.

1905-CFC {ed's note - considering all the Americas uses dollars, I find that very difficult to believe mate, you will need to show me a link.}

GANSO HAS A 50M EURO BUY-OUT CLAUSE EDITOR, 50M EUROS IS £43M.

Ganso's buy out clause if $50M which equates to £31M plus change.

Sharkey.

Thanx for that Sharkz although it is 50m euros, not US Dollars. His buyout clause is $70m.
