Big big thanks to all the eds who provided us with info over the window, fantastic as usual even though they do not have to give us anything! Much appreciated

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea was one of three clubs that I know of making extension applications with the FA - nothing will happen. Costa was agreed earlier today but there were additional costs that Chelsea were not interested in. There was nearly a deal for Varane but it seems that the Chelsea representative left early evening astonished by the demands RM were making - Chelsea to match a release clause and pay the tax due and other costs for Laporte - in Spain that is through the roof money. Certainly Varane will be chased in the summer.}

Can I ask about the costs for Laporte? What are those costs and why RM demand Chelsea to pay those costs for them?

Two things. First off, thanks Ed for the information. Even without a question you give us this insightful intel, you legend! :)
Secondly, stupid stupid Madrid! Why won't they just let us have Varane. I'm sure we'd pay a reasonable amount. Let the boy reunite with Mourinho, will you!

Just wondering, Thorgan Hazard wouldn't be one of those loan players that the club had agreed to sell right? Really don't want the club to lose him.

{Ed002's Note - No. Bertrand and Romeu. There was an offer for Hazard and one for Davila which the club were not interested in. A number of other loaned players will also move on in the summer.}

SuperCesc, I'd fully support it if that was the club's decision. Either one of those two can play a role next season IMO. I feel there's no need to go out and buy a player like Costa. Just got to survive this season with 4 attacking midfielders then.

Hi Ed, was just reading the transfer deadline gossips and read about Chelsea trying to seal a summer deal for an under 20 Corinthians CF named Malcolm. Any truth?

{Ed002's Note - Yes - we have dealt with this on a number of occasions. Malcom is of interest to Barcelona, Chelsea and Juventus, but a move to England is out of the question for now but Chelsea will still look to agree a deal and leave him in Brazil until at least the summer.}

Unfortunately, I have been thinking the same thing - the only reason for chasing Douglas Costa is that Hazard is leaving (on the upside I'm sure Varane would be part of the negotiations).

Why not Bale instead.of Varane?

Even if this was true and he wanted out I would still think he would sign a new deal Chelsea have never to my knowledge been a club to hold onto a player against there will I think its more likely he will sign were this not to happen though I am sure the club will look at the options out there Messi, Pogba, Bale

Well pinky, I choose not to believe you because I don't want to believe you. I'd be fine with some signings today, but Hazard should sign an extension. He's in the most competitive league in the world and he's one of the stars of the team. He can't ask for much more.

You are entitled to your opinion on anything, just as anyone is but here is my opinion but

all you do by coming off with bold statements like this is you get people into a frenzy for no reason. Hazard is a central part to a very good team, one that is getting better. He will sign a new contract when it suits him and the team. People speculating is just pretty pointless because we don't know the ins and outs of everything. If you also read the little information on the issue, he was so close to signing and now if you listen to the tabloids he is moving on somewhere at the next opportunity. That just doesn't happen, the contract wouldn't have got as close as it did and Mourinho wouldn't have talked about it if it wasnt going to be sign it. Speculation on tactics and results great. But have a bit of tact when speculating about transfers. You just seem to turn up on transfer deadline day just to piss people off and scare up a bit of action lol, that what I have seen over the last few years, just my opinion.

It's just a negative thing to say! The only way he would go to Madrid was if he was all about money which he isn't! He's in the best league in the world, playing for the best team in the league & I'm sure Chelsea will be where he stays for a long long time! Especially while we have the best manager in the world
