ED002 reports are saying that a fee has been agreed for Sanchez from Barca any truth? {Ed002's Note - I don't know. I am not really expecting Sanchez to end up at Chelsea and Pozzo could still drag it out.}

Is anything happeneing about Van Der Wiel because he would be a great signing? {Ed002's Note - Nothing new right now.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 23:29:54
Has anything happened about Sanchez because apparently Man C and Barca have both pulled out? {Ed002's Note - It'll drag on a while regardless of whether Barcelona have pulled out or not. Manchester City is not really part of the equation.}

ED what is the latest on Lukaku because i havent heard anything about him recently? {Ed002's Note - If you look down to mid afternoon there is some discussion.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 22:22:49
ED002 you must really rate Subotic as a player as whenever a poster has asked who you would like to join you have always said Subotic along with others is he seen as Terry's long term replacement in the next couple of years? {Ed002's Note - It means I am consistent. Subotic is seen as the replacement for John Terry in the long-term.}

29 Jun 2011 22:24:34
Hey Ed Do u think that there is any chance that Zola will be brought in to the coaching staff along with Di Matteo? {Ed018's Note - i dont know about that now. i thought maybe he could have been brought in as the number 2}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 22:19:43
Looking as though Pastore will be moving a 10% chance of staying lets hope he is playing for us next year

Believable4 Unbelievable2

29 Jun 2011 22:11:39
Ed: Is anything coming out of Chelse's academy this year? It is all gone quite and all the attention is on buying. As the matter of fact I couldn't name a single young Chelsea player apart from the ones that have already been tried. {Ed002's Note - I am afraid I am not up to speed with the kids either.}

What formation do you thing it would give Chelsea the flare we all crave for?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

29 Jun 2011 21:55:04
hello ed's:D

do we have a bid for Coentrao? or will we? heard that he is VB top target.

and is it correct that Real Madrid is the only club who is willing to meet Santos' asking price for Neymar?

thanks:) {Ed002's Note - I don't think anything will happen with Coentrao unless Ashley Cole moves to Real Madrid. In which case is seems very likely that a move will be made. My understanding is that neither Chelsea nor Real Madrid offered the full amount for Neymar.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 21:48:02
Ed, with regards to Barcelona's interest in Pastore do they see him as an alternative to Fabregas or is their interest equal in both?

I would post this on the Barca site but I trust your views and info more than the other Ed's and I am asking to try and clarify how strong our chances of signing him are :) {Ed002's Note - I suspest they would not be interested in both players actually signing.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 21:46:53
Ed: Do you know anything about Ferreira if he is going to stay or leave? He has been loyal all this time. The right back position is one of our weakest points because Bosingwa is not up to the job and Ivanovitch is good but he is crossing not the best. Any input on this would be appreciated. {Ed002's Note - It may depend on who is coming in. At the moment he is taking up one of the non home grown places.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

The right back position is one of our weakest points because Bosingwa is not up to the job and Ivanovitch is good but he is crossing not the best. Any input on this would be appreciated. {Ed018's Note - i think Ferreira should be sold. i think its time to improve that position. I'd like to see VDW come in and Ivanovic provide cover if needed.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 21:31:48
Ed: Realistically, how long can Lambard and Drogba keep playing for? Even with no injuries does the body just slow down? Do you think they expect to be first choices next year? Because if they don't then they will stay and play as and when the team needs them and everyone is happy. {Ed002's Note - I would not be surprised to see Drogba leave. Lampard, I don't know.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 21:22:02
Ed: Were you surprised to see RDM as number 2? What can he bring to Stamford Bridge? {Ed018's Note - I wasnt to suprised. i think its a good choice and Villas-Boas must believe he will bring alot to that position. I like the fact that he is a former Chelsea player because im sure the club means alot to him and i expect him to do well}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 21:11:23
Ed: Forgive my ignorance on club transfer strategy, but how does it work? If a club, say, needs a midfielder does it launch as many bids as it can and hopes to get one of them? That's what it looks like Chelsea are doing? {Ed018's Note - to keep it simple for now, if chelsea make a bid that a club feels is to low, you obviously have to make a new bid with a better offer.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 20:49:07
Ed: How do you see AVB's input in Chelsea's transfer strategy? Do you know who was driving the bids before he arrived? {Ed002's Note - He will certainly be much more part of the process than Carlo A was.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 20:47:11
ED002 say Neymar chooses to join Chelsea but wanted to stay at Santos til Jan to play in the world club championships and a pre contract was agreed would Chelsea be willing to let him? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps. This issue has been raised before as I have explained.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2011 19:21:02
Do you really think santon would actually move to chelsea? Are rumours already floating around for next year? {Ed002's Note - I knew I should never have answered the question "who would you like ...".}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 19:20:17
My opinion is that the team needs a striker similar to Tevez that can break compact defenses, a midfielder and a right back

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 18:41:51
Ed: Can I ask which players you would like to see coming in? {Ed002's Note - Neymar, pehaps Ganso, Subotic next year, Santon.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

29 Jun 2011 18:40:07
Ed , I'm a bit concerned with all those big name foreign players linked and no English players with regards to the Uefa rulings due to kick in. Surely those in command have a way around this ? {Ed002's Note - Any changes to the rulings are some way off. Remember that if, say, Neymar and Lukaku arrived, they would be considered home grown once they become 21. As will Lucas who is joining in January and Wallace when he arrives. Potentially a complete home grown all Brazilian side eventually (only kidding).}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 18:38:12
I find Ed002's replies reasonable and more importantly responsible. I wouldn't want to be given rumours which have absolutely nothing to do with reality

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 18:31:51
Its been told that a club has met the 45 million asking fee for pastore is it chelsea or a different club? {Ed002's Note - As mentioned several times, the cash bid being mentioned is from Chelsea but the player has a number of other options to consider. If a decent offer is available from Barcelona, then I think he could perhaps look to there.}

It seems the sentiment of my post has been misinterpreted. My question was a genuine request to have this site explained to me. Ed002's response that by asking question means 'I'm on my own' raised my eyebrows to say the least

I also seem to have been put in the category of people who dish out abuse to the Eds. That also surprised me. If I am expected to read, believe and not question anything that it typed within brackets, then perhaps this site is not for me. If on the other hand, it's a site that deals in rumours that can in some part be substantiated by some form of insider, then I remain keen to visit.

As a fairly new visitor to this page, I was simply trying to understand some of the attitudes and intentions of some contributors. My bad, it seems.
-------------------------------------
Ed002. I can't get my head round the MO for this page. You moderate and oversee a website called Chelsea RUMOURS and yet you appear to treat any request for information with sheer contempt.

You say 'Don't believe the media' without seemingly realising that this site sits within the media category. You appear not to want to answer many of the questions that are asked and on a couple of occasions, you elude to gossip and then say 'we're not going there'.

You seem to not enjoy this site, so why stay involved in it?

If I've got all this wrong, I'm happy to be corrected.

Martin {Ed002's Note - Fine, you are on your own then.}

---------------------------------
Martin, as a regular reader of this site and an avid Chelsea fan your assesment of ED002's contribution is completely jouvenile. My guess, and correct me if i am wrong Ed002, is that he cannot confirm rumours nor tell us for certain that something is happening as it would jeapordise his sources. We, as chelsea fans, get more than most clubs fans would get thanks to Ed002 so my advice, as i have said before, is dont bite the hand that feeds you.

As for the "media". because it says something on SSN or BBC or in the gutter press doesnt make it true. Journo's will say anything to sell a paper remember. This falls outside that domain as it is not run and moderated by journo's looking for site hits.

So finally Martin, you, along with several others, are responsible for the short and blunt responses from what was previously, as far as i can remember, a pretty easy going and willing source in Ed002. I for one am surprise he hasnt snapped by now and would suggest either shutting up or going else where
------------------------------

{Ed002's Note - I found your post to de directly abusive toward me. You accuse me of treating "any request for information with sheer contempt"; you seek to lecture me about the media; you suggest that I "appear not to want to answer many of the questions that are asked" without noticing how much information I do provide in answer to questions; you correctly note however that I will not allow "gossip" and that is true of all of the web sites. If it is gossip you yearn for then I suggest you try the National Enquirer or elsewhere and your assertion is correct that this site is not for you.}
-----------------------------------------------
Wow If you felt abused, I apologise. That was not my intention.

I still find myself no nearer understanding this site, but I won't attempt to continue to explain what it is I don't get, as I don't really enjoy being accused of abuse, lecturing an Ed or seeking tittle tattle.

National Enquirer it is then

{Ed002's Note - Have fun there.}

Ed002, please can you tell me what chelsea is doing with this issue of signing players very late and become hot captions in every transfer window that turn to distract the players brought in like what happen to fernando torrers. {Ed002's Note - The International transfer window has not actually opened yet, so perhaps Chelsea are not quite so late in their dealings. Some transfers, such as whatever eventually happens with Alexis Sanchez are by the very nature of the parties involved complex and can drag out.}

Hi Ed, I just wanted to ask a question regarding transfers, why do the club seem to be not keen at all in the slightest way possible on bringing Wesley Sneijder to Chelsea?I just wanted your opinion on this subject Ed.thanks. {Ed002's Note - A general enquiry was made but that is it as far as I know. I suspect Chelsea would have been put off by his transfer fee and his wage demands which would have made him the highest earner at the club. With a new manager arriving he will already have ideas about what he wants to do and there are bids on the table or to be made for a number of players (Neymar, Pastore and Sanchez). Much will also depend on who is to leave and that will be something that becomes clearer over the next few weeks. So there is no surprise about Sneijder.}

Ed..Is there any news on whether a DOF will be appointed and if so who?
I have read rumours about Franco who would be great and Emenalo who would be a disasterous appointment.
Thankyou. {Ed002's Note - There is no news.}

Is there any truth about Coentra and Cole to Spain rumours, Ed? {Ed002's Note - Any interest in Coentrao will only come about if Cole moves to Real Madrid. At present, it looks like Coentrao will be going to Madrid.}

ED002 i don't know if you saw ABV's interview today on regards to transfer he said nothing will happen until the 6th but as you've said a bid for Sanchez has been made and also for Neymar? {Ed002's Note - There are bids out on a number of players - I cannot justify anything he has said.}

Hey Ed, this new bid of 50m euros that the Palermo president was talking about, was it from Chelsea? {Ed002's Note - I refer you to earlier answers.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 16:07:29
Palermo are apparently reporting a 50 million euro bid for Pastore- the one player that we really need as the long term replacement for Frank. Hope it's the Roman chequebook in action
Cheers
J {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have made a bid.}

Ed, What is Andrea Villas Boas talking about, when he says he's guna wait and see the squad before he decides on who he wants to stay and who he wants to bring in? I think it's very clear what needs to be done at chelsea, we have too many O, A, P's We need young frsh attacking talent why cant he already see this, or is he just playing mind games?? {Ed002's Note - I cannot explain the reasons for anything he says I am afraid.}

Apparently arsenal are putting in a bid for lukaku? Is there any truth in it and if so do you think lukaku would consider? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal are reportedly interested in teh player but Anderlecht are looking for a very high figure for the player. I doubt Arsenal will want to bid that high.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 15:49:00
edd whats the lates with lukaku things seem to have hit a standstill. {Ed002's Note - Nothing at all has changed. His agent continues to hawk the player around club to club. Chelsea will not pay the price Anderlecht have set, and I very much doubt anyone else will. Arsenal and Spurs continue to show an interest as well.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2011 15:28:01

One less team to compete with when will a decison be made on the bid ed?

{Ed002's Note - No, he was never going to move to Manchester City.}

Is that because he did not want to move would he be interested moving to chelsea?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City were never going to attract him. I suspect he will end up at Barcelona in the end, but Chelsea have, as you know, made a bid.}

Hi there Ed. I saw on spanish tv's that Chelsea has got a personal arrangement with Lukaku. Is that true?
BTW, why are we not trying hard to get Ag ero? He is the man for our squad. Perfect conditions and abilities for Premier League, and he is a super class {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what has been on Spanish TV and as I say there is a watching brief over Aguero.}

Ed, I know that u havent got any idea of what has been on Spanish TV's, as you dont watch them. What I am asking if is true that Chelsea has got an arrangement with Lukaku.

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know what you mean. Lukaku is just a kid and Chelsea would not be in a position to strike any sort of "arrangement" (whatever that may be) with the player. The situation with Lukaku remains unchanged - his agent is trying to get a deal by approaching English clubs - perhaps Arsenal or Spurs have an "arrangement" with the player.}

are we interested in Aguero again/still?

are we interested in Mata still?

do we actually have a bid for Neymar?

last thing: city have officially dropped their interest in Sanchez, so are we then only competing with Barca or are we favourites because of the money?

thanks:) {Ed002's Note - There is a watching brief over Aguero and Mata - no more than that. There is a bid for Neymar, yes. As for Sanchez, the story will likely run for some time yet.}

Ed002 - Got a question for you regarding Lukaku, in order for Chelsea to get him before he would no longer qualify as homegrown, when would they need to sign him by? Would it be by the end of this transfer window or the end of January's transfer window? Or could he still be bought next summer and quality as homegrown in three years time?

Obviously this will have some bearing on when he will be signed?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Footballers are like racehorses, there birthdays are all on January 1 for the purposes of such calculations. He would need to complete three full seasons by the time of the end of the season which begins in the year of his 21st Birthday. So if he was born in 1993 he remains counting as 21 until the summer of 2015. This means that he would have to join by next summer and spend three seasons under the English and Welsh FA - so no loans to the Continent. If he were to join this year, he could be loaned to a club outside of teh remit of The FA of England and Wales for a season.}
