Ivanovic - my understanding is that a one year extension that was in his contract has been invoked with the agreement of the club and the player. The reason that there has been a delay in agreeing a new contract is that Ivanovic wants to play centre back and not right back. He is happy to cover at right back but fears he is gradually being seen as a first choice right back. Van Der Weil remains the long term target as right back but it depends on contract talks with Bosingwa, what happens to Dani Alves at Barcelona - as they will move for Van der Weil if Alves moves to Manchester City or elsewhere.

Hey Ed, super agent and great friend of Real Madrid president, Ernesto Bronzetti has come out and said that Chelsea has a 90% chance of landing Kaka in the summer? Any truth to this and do you think there is any chance of Chelsea getting him on loan in January? {ed's note - it all comes down to money, if the funds will be freed then you are in pole position.}
