Will Chelsea be looking to renew their interest in Brazilian born Spanish Starlet Rodrigo? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are one of the clubs with a watching brief over Brazilian born Spanish Starlet Rodrigo whilst both Juventus and Atletico Madrid have both made approaches to Benfica for Brazilian born Spanish Starlet Rodrigo.}

Ed you are too funny

Is he the same player as the Portugal-based, Brazilian born, Spanish starlet or have I got it wrong?! ;)

Steve

Wrong man we want Spanish born Brazilian starlet Dorigo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony dorigo?

Blue John

Agree0 Disagree0

No, you are thinking of the Australian born English defender, based on an American sports network commentating on Spanish wonderkids

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to confirm... was Rodrigo born in Brazil, now playing for Spain, for whom he is regarded as a starlet? {Ed002's Note - That would be Bolton.}

Hello all.

Again just to help out and to save the same questions being asked over and over.

Chelsea are looking to bring in two forwards. the following list are players chelsea have shown varying degree's of intrest in: Bony,Schurrle,Rodrigo,Taison,Falcao,Remy.

Falcao is the main target and Schurrle is the other player wanted buy chelsea. Madrid are activly seeking a replacement.

Remy looks set for newcastle he has previously been offered to chelsea for 15mil but for one reason or anthor chelsea decided to decline the offer,Bony is still of intrest although is far from top of the list.

News, of villa,walcott,negredo, has far has im am aware at the moment is speculation i would doubt anymove for villa loan or otherwise is likley and if negredo were to move to them prem spurs would seem the most likley, as far has im aware chelsea have made no approach for walcott.

it is unlikley chelsea will go for cavani either has a substantial bid was made for the player last summer and Napoli resisted, the player has since commited his furture to the club.

other news regardign transfers, Lampard looks set to leave should he be made a sutible offer during the transfer window if not it will be the summer,cole looks set to also be off during the summer and news regarding terry at the moment is speculation has his contract runs anthor 18 months and thats a long way off.Malouda will be aloud to leave has soon he finds a club i would suspect the same can be said for ferraira now that wallace will eb joing up with the squad.

even though we would all like to see Lamps and cole stay for a few years,Ed sort or fit the nail on the head at there age and the FFP rules comming into effect replacing them over the next couple of transfer windows will be much easier then getting sutible replacements for them in 2 years time.

Im sure most are aware but for those who are not Sturridge is set to join liverpool early in the transfer window.

for those of you worrying that selling sturridge leaves us with a lone Torres do not worry there will be activity buy chelsea regarding strikers before the transfer window.

Ed002: is there anythign new of note to add ? thanks (Sorry if putting this is kinda of doing your thing but seeing the same questions repeatidly ask is annoying hopefully this will put an end to it.)Have a good new year.

BlueBen

Agree0 Disagree1

If sturridge is going to liverpool i think we need to sign at least one striker, maybe not two because in 4-2-3-1 you would only start with one of them so the others might not play enough even if u rotate. i definitely want falcao i think we should pay whatever it takes (isnt that a 45m buy out clause) then if we want another striker then we should get either walcott, schurrle, remy or villa {Ed002's Note - Sturridge is going.}

I understand Athletico are looking at options, however a recent quote from Falcao says that he will stay until summer. Is this definitive?
Liam {Ed002's Note - Definitive, no Liam. However, it remains the most likely scenario still.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Are Madrid obligated to sell if his release clause is triggered? {Ed002's Note - Don't read too much in to "release clauses" - it will always be up to a player where he wants to move to.}

I have, from a reliable source, been told that the rumours around Negredo are true - that we have made an inquiry not a bid.

Sturridge out, Villa on loan and Negredo permanent, would people be happy with that as our January striker dealings?

Surewould

Believable2 Unbelievable8

No but Falcao has ruled himself out until the summer so don't know where we go from here.

Phil

Agree1 Disagree0

No but Falcao has ruled himself out until the summer so don't know where we go from here.

Phil

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind Villa on loan but wouldn't fancy Negredo at all. Him and a lot of the others we have been linked with are not good enough for our club. The only 2 I would want Falcao/Cavani won't be coming so it looks like a case of getting by until the summer.

Phil

Agree1 Disagree0

I personally wouldn't be happy with it, although Negredo has a half decent strike rate in Spain, but can't see many other decent options. What would we gain from Negredo that bringing Lukaku back on loan wouldn't also add. Villa is still a top class finisher and would serve a purpose on loan - spending 16mil (or so) on him wouldn't make much in the way of sense to me.

Surewould

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think negredo would be good business either loan or permanent as he doesn't add any significant difference (blazing pace or aerial ability) that others might. Villa on loan wouldn't be awful though however I think bringing lukaku back would be better although the club and the player disagree with that.

Not only wud I be gutted if utd got lewondoski but for 18m!! No way can that be true

Believable5 Unbelievable2

We should have bid for Lewandowski end of. He's world class and he'll be cheap but we'll now probably get Negredo who's not good enough.

Villa would be decent on loan but certainly not good enough to win the league.

If we don't sign Falcao or Cavani in January I desperately hope we bid for Higuain or even try Llorente who will give us something different.

We all know its difficult to sign a player in January, for us its difficult to sign a player like Falcao, but imagine how difficult it would be for At. Madrid to sign a replacement?!.

At. Madrid wouldn't have expected to be in their position at this stage of the season, they look nailed on for a place in next seasons Champions League. Their fine form has been largely down to goals scored by Falcao; with no ready made replacement out there for them to bring in and replace those goals I can't see them selling and risk a place in next seasons Champions League.

Yes they are in financial straights but they'll sell Falcao for the same in the summer as they would in January and Champions League qualification would be their largest financial boost.

The same can be said for Cavani, Napoli are under absolutely no pressure to sell him in January. He is on a long term deal and will be worth the same, if not more, in the summer as he will be in January. Champions League qualification is the main aim for Napoli and without his goals their chances of achieving this will drop.

Big players only leave clubs in January when they are in the last year of their contract and teams don't want to risk losing them for nothing in the summer.

It'll be interesting what striker we sign in January but I very much doubt you'll see the likes of Falcao or Cavani joining till the summer.

Surewould {Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid has been actively seeking players as they will likely lose both Falcao and Lopez in the next two windows. Mony is tight but they have been looking at the likes of Huntelaar (who won't be moving there), Oliveira, Rodrigo, Tello, Llorente, Martinez and Yilmaz.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Although we all don't like to see it I have got to agree. Let's just hope Roman can pull something out of the bag with him you just never know.

Phil

Agree2 Disagree0

It will be villa in on loan then falcao in the summer

kevinCFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you Kevin.

Surewould

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with you surewould. They have no gain in doing it and therefore won't especially when both players aren't posturing.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

If Roman wants a great striker he'll get him he signed Torres two years ago for 50 million so you can't tell me he can't convince players. If he can't buy Falcao he'll put a mammoth bid in for Cavani.

As of the rumours I would only like one of these players to arrive - Falcao, Cavani, Higuain or Llorente.

Negredo - Not good enough
Remy - Not good enough
Villa - great player but I'd rather a big signing come sooner.
Schurrle - Good young player not the out an out striker, forward presence we need.

Right, I dunno how reliable (transfer tavern) is but according to them Islam feruz is heading out of chelsea with Liverpool man city and athletic Bilbao interested, apparently at his lack of matches , I doubt so but is this true .

I think he's quality and would be a shame to lose him

Billy (23)

Believable1 Unbelievable5

His agent is a mug money grabbing person. he even said islam isnt ready for 1st team football & maybe next year on loan in a lower league. feruz is contracted to the end of 13-14 season. 1 & Half years. trying to get more wages. he pushed the young lad from celtic for the same reasons. BLUEBOY 1

Ed, several newspapers are covering some stories about Strikers going Chelsea.

-Chelsea and Sevilla are reportedly negotiating the transfer of striker Alvaro Negredo for a fee in the region of €18m (Cope.es)

-Chelsea are preparing a formal bid of €15m for French striker Bafetimbi Gomis of Olympique Lyon (Le Progres)

-Chelsea have held talks twice in the last 3 weeks with Atletico about Mario Suarez and are expected to submit a £12m bid (Cadena Cope)

ED002, I know you probably don't like answering these questions, but is there any truth in this statements?

Would very much appreciated if answered!

Blueben

I've also read the same article about Negredo. He's not good enough. Simple! We'll never challenge for the title without a world class striker. Obviously we'd all prefer Falcao or Cavani but if we're looking for a cheaper option who may be available next month why not Higuain or Llorente? Gomis and Negredo just aren't good enough.

CfcBenWxm

Agree0 Disagree0

Llorente will only go cheap (if he doesn't go free) because his contract is up in the summer. Higuain would not come cheap. Atleast 25-30m.

The cheap options are Bony and Remy. Llorente looks to be staying at Bilbao until the end of the season or heading to Juventus. Higuain will be at Madrid for a while I would presume, unless they manage to land Cavani.
