Hey Ed, has there been any development in the Kaka situation (assuming there ever was any situation?), I for one hope that the interest was not serious. THAT would be a backward step (or at best sideways) for the club. {Ed002's Note - Nope. I don't see it was as viable an option as others.}

ED. . i know we have a interest in aguero if theres a slight chance n we get him n he makes a move to the bridge, are we still gonna go for Neymar? Or we gonna drop our interest in him? If you can comment on this ed ill appreciated thanks

Neymar is highly likely to join Chelsea this year as he said he wants to.

Lukaku could join, with Pastore and Van der Wiel also possibilities.

It is not impossible for Sanchez and Aguero to join either

Pirlo will not join Chelsea he has joined Juventus. Lukaku deal looks close, but this does bring to light the fact Roman probably buys the players he wants as we are managerless at the moment, anyway the lad looks pukka and would be a great addition i'm sure. Hiddink will be the new boss for the year then go upstairs and allow Jose to come back to the bridge. I hear Jose has enrolled his Children in the school they attended while he was at Chelsea the first time round could be and probably is just rumours, but hopefully it's true, would love to have the special one back at the bridge. CAREFREE!

What plan B is this ED002?

{Ed002's Note - There has already been one failed attempt to put a package together.}

Hey ED, maybe I'm missing something here, but why on earth is Harry Redknapp betting favourites to replace Carlo, despite the fact that Chelsea haven't actually made any contact with him? Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Odds are generally adjusted by the amount of money placed. If you put £50k on it being Didier Deschamps I suspect he will become favourite.}

This manager situation is getting stupid, I think plan A was mourinho next season with hiddink upstairs.For this season I have a sneaky feeling that if turkey win next Friday, hiddink will honour his contract with them and we will get rafa Benitez, with Zola as his number 2.Also it's all good going for young players but why are we not in for tevez, aguero, fabregas.We also need to wake up and send Torres back to Spain, maybe as a swap for aguero.He had half a season to prove his worth and failed(1 goal in about 15 games)If aguero wages are the problem then we are never going to get top players because other teams will pay them.
------------------------------
We are not gonna sell Torres or swap him with anyone. I do believe Chelsea will make a bid for Agureo. I'm not sure that they will come to terms on the wage issues but you never know. {Ed002's Note - There has already been one failed attempt to put a package together.}

Are cfc still interested in pastore {Ed002's Note - Pastore may well be moving this summer - it seems to be on/off week-by-week. Palermo is a difficult club to deal with (to say the least) and money is not something they are short of. They crave success and I would not be surprised to see him stay another season. Juventus have been knocked back with their standard offer of €20m in cash plus Raffaelle Palladino, Amauri and Sebastian Giovinco in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. Chelsea are looking for a long-term replacement for Lampard and Manchester United are looking for a long-term replacement for Scholes. He is certainly not top of Chelsea's transfer list but they will keep a watching brief. The rejected bid that was publicised was certainly from Manchester City. Liverpool had shown an interest before Christmas but will struggle with the price - which if he is sold is likely to be the highest of the summer. Atletico Madrid are also interested buy I suspect that they will be priced out of the market.The fee will be in the region of £50M or a part ownership deal may well be negotiated. If I had to suggest a destination Barcelona, one of the Milanese clubs (but they have potential non-EU player quota issues) or an outside chance of Chelsea}

I do agree that the managerial situation is getting boring and stupid, but I say we should judge Torres on his performance NEXT season, since he was only bough during January, and never really adapted to our style. .

Ed, it keeps on being mentioned in the papers that we're likely to wrap deals up for players even before we've appointed a new manager. Surely this can't be correct though as a new manager will have his own ideas of how the team should play and who he needs to play that way. Without going into names (it gets a bit boring being constantly asked 'have we signed Neymar yet?!'), do you see the signings that we're looking to make are with the intention of moving away from our reliance on 433? How radical do you think the changes to the squad will be this summer?

-AM- {Ed002's Note - There will be pretty significant changes and they are not going to be impacted by the managerial situation.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So Ed, how important would you say is the managers input on squad purchases and sales at the club? I may be naive, but it seems odd to think that squad changes would not be affected by the managerial situation. Or is the prospective manager already feeding the club suggestions of who he would like sign and who he would like to let go? Thanks.

-AM-

{Ed002's Note - Transfers are decided by a broader group of advisors. The manager is only one of that group.}

I'm willing to bet that we have a manager before we sign anyone.

He's gone mate. Was having a browse on Lalkovic's twitter and there was a farewell message to him on there. Not the best source in the world but I'd imagine it was pretty accurate!

Guardiola to be new Chelsea boss with hiddink upstairs by end of next week

That'd be nice but I don't see this happening. I think Pep might be waiting on Ferguson to retire before he tries something new. As a Chelsea fan I think our best hope is for Hiddink to come in this year and go from there.

Hi ed, just a few quick questions as i know your busy.

1) what is the process of a successful transfer?
2) Any update on Dzagoev, Mata or Pjanic yet?
Thanks ed.

{Ed002's Note - (1) Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the players team to ask if they would be willing to sell and permission to speak to a player's agent and possibly even the player. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. So many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead. (2) No.}

Has regards the 2 youngsters going to hamburg:
If we lose a CD ie alex ( hope he is staying), then I think we need to keep Bouma.
Has for Josh, I can't see why he needs to go away from the club. with lampard & essien, still not being back to there best, after long injury battles. I think he would get at least 20+ appearances next year.
Would like to see Neymer, VDW, Sanchez & Lukaku, come to the club. I expect Annelka & possibly Malouda & Kalou to leave, the last 2 just don't make the grade in our side. They seem to constantly give the ball away, more so, than the rest of the team, put together.

ed if redknapp does get the chelsea job for a year you said then they will go for plan A witch is what or who hiddink as i thought hiddink wants to move upstairs so who is plan A after redknapps 1 year farce {Ed002's Note - I did not actually say those things, what I said was that if Chelsea can find a manager for a year it would allow them to revert to their original long-term plan. So if Hiddink or someone else manages for a year it would suit the club. Equally, if someone like Van Baston comes in it would mean that Plan A is out of the window.}

Only on a 1 year contract though.
redknapp to take the england job next year. .
and hiddink to carry on managing turkey or move to a bigger nation.

the contract will run and the i believe jose will become the manager for chelsea in a years time.

Hey Ed002,

Just wanted an update on the current Lukaku situation and was wondering how much progress has been made with Neymar.
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not interested in Lukaku at the price quoted by Anderlecht but his agent is now hawking him around trying to get a deal made at a much lower fee. Possible. As for Neymar, Chelsea are obviously not allowed to talk to the player but have spoken with his advisors and with the owners of his economic rights Santos and Grupo DIS. The third party involvement of TEISA is somewhat irrelevant as their agreement is with Santos but does require a minimum return on their investment of 3% of the value of the player (5% of the Santos ownership). There are financial issues which would need to be resolved related to Grupo DIS who value their 40% at a different level than Santos values their 60%. There has also been a proposal made by Santos for Chelsea to take another player (who shall remain unnamed) in addition to Neymar. Chelsea will consider and likely reject this. There has also been talk of a possible sell on clause being included in the contract. All of this seems to be surmountable. As for his advisors, they do not want to commit to Chelsea at this time as there is another club (Barcelona) who appear to be showing serious interest in Neymar. This is probably just a negotiating tactic and nothing else. They are resigned to the player moving in the summer and obviously want to get the best deal they can. There have been some pretty outrageous demands made in respect of friends and family (flights to and from Sao Paulo, tickets to games etc.) and these would need to be resolved. One final complication is that there is a very good chance that a request will be made to say if a move is agreed the player will not join Chelsea until January 2012. This is all wrapped up with the Copa Libertadores and subsequent World Club Championship. It is most unlikely that Chelsea would agree to such a provision. I think it is likely that Neymar will, after some negotiation and posturing, make the move to Chelsea this summer.}
