Ed is there any news on a possible deal for Lucas moura? Could he be the deadline day signing that we all long for?

Thank in advance

ed weve been trying to get lampards replacement and failed eg pastore which player are we loooking at to replace lampard now thanks {Ed018's Note - chelsea are looking for lampards long term replacement, doesnt mean it will happen in January though}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im not saying it will but do u know which player chelsea are looking at to replace him {Ed002's Note - I think we have to wait and see if Lucas Piazon becomes that player. CErtainly eceryone is very happy with him at the moment.}

Lampards long term replacement, is out on loan to swansea atm. When hes back, he will be incredible. Josh McEachran.

Hi Edds, general knowledge question but will this be the first transfer window where fixtures will be being played on the last night. Just thought it might be tricky for clubs and players to sort last minute moves if they're playing a couple of hours before the transfer deadline

Hass {Ed018's Note - i can't say for sure, but i'd bet it has happened before}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

ED018 a question for u terry's court case starts next week so when will a decision be made if he is guilty i heard it may take 8-12 weeks to reach a decision? {Ed018's Note not entirely sure, but i'd expect it to be drawn out a bit}

Who is the big siging on transfer deadline day

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Lucas Moura

Agree6 Disagree4

We'll find out if there is one by 1st Feb.

Agree7 Disagree1

Won't be any huge signing

Agree6 Disagree6

Yep. The plan is to sign him and loan him to his current club for the rest of the year. It will be difficult to sign him in the summer because he will attract more attention. Hence the stalling with other targets.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

He came from there rivals Marseille and i think he said he wouldnt go back to french league.

Jim

Agree8 Disagree1

This guy is full of it

Agree1 Disagree1

Just get rid of him, and take whatever they offer coz he and Torres dont click, Nando needs a run in the team

Agree4 Disagree3

Money talks jim

Agree2 Disagree1

I totally agree. Drogba I believe should be let go and get whatever money we can and his huge wage bill of the club. Watched the ACN match last night and he was awful as he has been most of the season. No effort and lost his power and pace. Lying down everytime he's touched

Agree4 Disagree3

The amount of loyalty shown towards Drogba is shocking, he's given his all for Chelsea and will be someone for the Younger to look after. Also he wants to stay with Chelsea, Whereas Alex didn't want to but people was staying we should keep him... Some fans are very fickle.

Agree4 Disagree2

Wat do you think of this ed, great job by the way
Jamie {Ed018's Note - i'd be absolutely shocked to see Drogba sign for PSG in January}

Agree1 Disagree0

He been a fantastic servant to our great club but the above poster is rite he isnt the same player as he once was and at his age wont be again! whats the point in paying that large weekly wage on a player who wont score you more than 10 goals a season if that! let him have his final payday in china or an arab country who pay well?

eden hazard will be allowed to leave lille in summer sparking a bidding war....chelsea head list of interested teams and have players they can offer with cash...

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ive them kalou malouda and 20million..

Agree5 Disagree2

I dont think we will get him if left till summer. I think its been quoted that spain is his preffered option. We need to make a big bid in order to get him now if possible. As i dont think RA will want to get into a bidding war come summer. Maybe 25-30 million plus Malouda or Kalou or both might be the only way for Lille to give him up now.

Is there still a chance of getting Willian in this window? and will Chelsea place a cheeky bid for a top player on deadline day or before. Also what's happening with de bruyne ? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps; perhaps; I expect it to be completed.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Willian to be completed ed? {Ed002's Note - As I wrote - perhaps.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Hey Ed, What a great piece of news! congrats to you and chelsea fans if this happens!

Agree0 Disagree5

Willian signing is a joke, kakuta should of had his chance, but instead we loan him out, and he wont b at chelsea by end of next summer jus lik bruma

Agree1 Disagree2

Kakuta couldn't get in the team at Bolton or Fulham, so why should Chelsea give him a chance?! He needs to prove himself on loan first.

Agree3 Disagree0

Kakuta had his chance to shine when he was on loan at fulham, and he failed to impress at bolton.....you have to wonder would he be up to playing in the chelsea 1st team? i doubt it very much myself....i have a feeling he will head back to france in the summer

Hey Ed,

I know you told us not to look into what AVB says, because he may lie because of his hidden agendas.

However, when he clearly and definitely states that he will not buy any more players in January with 100% certainty, how can we not believe him?

Thanks

Samir {Ed002's Note - I doubt that I used the word "lie" and certainly would not have mentioned "hidden agendas". Feel free to believe him if that is what you want to do.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ahh, When I talked about "Lies" and "hidden agendas", that was just my opinion.

I just want to know if you expect any deals to go through, despite what AVB says? Because you are implying it....

Thanks ED

Samir

Agree3 Disagree0

Wait and find out what happens. it would be boring if we knew when everything was going to go through.have faith that avb won't leave our attacking options short for the second half of the season. We can't rely on Liverpool n arsenal being as poor in the rest of the season for us to finish fourth.

in concern to those who are interested....i believe that the alternative to hazard and willian that ed is reluctantly holding back may be adam johnson. wants to be a part of england.. not getting the chances he would like at city. knows chelsea need width and therefore could envisage a place here...thoughts?

makalelad

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Would be an amazing deal, but wont happen

Agree3 Disagree2

They wouldn't sell Johnson to Chelsea...his chance of playing for us went when he chose Man City instead of Chelsea.

Agree3 Disagree3

I think it is Adam Johnson too, which I think would be a great signing. He's exactly what we need: Pacy, good dribbler, and he wants to prove himself. He would start on virtually any other team, it's just been unfortunate that City buy all-stars every transfer window.

27 Jan 2012 14:42:15
It's been confirmed folks.

No more signings. Not even De Bruyne, so lets all forget about Willian, Hazard and many more.

Apparently the project in the summer is bigger. Lets hope AVB gets us the top 4 otherwise there may not even be any project for him. RA has a very short temperament and finishing outside the top 4 is a failure especially with the players we have. No excuses.

Shak

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I hope he's just calling our bluff. Even if we don't sign Willian, our agonizing lack of attacking creativity would surely make any manager who actually has money to spend want to add someone who could make a difference. Come on Andre, open your eyes. Your squad are not as good as you want us all to believe.

Agree3 Disagree2

What a big mistake! No more signings? So our season is hinging on the possibility that Torres will come good this season? I wouldn't take that bet if I was AVB. We are seriously lacking creativity in the midfield and desperately need width as well! That's why we are playing one of the best strkers in the PL in a wide position (Sturridge). We need a striker who can finish (Cavani), a wide player (Hazard), and a creative midfielder (Willian). If Arsenal beats us to 4th in the league then we won't be playing CL football next season and we won't be able to attract any top-class players! It pains me to see my beloved Chelsea being run in like this! Wake up AVB, the current team is simply not good enough to compete in the PL or the CL, if you can't see that your blind!

Agree2 Disagree2

I dont what your project is avb but we need to buy now coz if you dont i think you can forget about 4th spot we lack pace, creativity and no fire power up front as torres is getting no service and these two signings are just what he needs but avb knows best or does he?

Agree1 Disagree2

As much as i would love AVB to do business now, i think of it as being paramount. We just need to steady our defence which Cahill will and Ivanovic at RB upon return... Look below us, can you really see Arsenal and Liverpool challenging? i really doubt it.

Agree1 Disagree1

Disagree 100% are you so naive to believe what is said in press confrences? rooney played last year at somepoint when fergie clearly stated he wouldnt! torres-ilove liverpool cant see myself at another club. liverpool chairman - we will not sell. point made. willian will sign. many of you would prefer hazard, i know...but is he really what we need? he has a very high expectation and to be honest we dont want the media around us when he doesnt reach the highs that have been set for him. willian kdb gary cahill. that`ll do me;) but also....listen out for a striker...all ill say is we were keen last summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why all the downhearted views? Firstly, there is a lot of kidology in the press conferences (with any manager, not just AVB) - particularly when it comes to transfers. Secondly, AVB cannot be expected to dismantle the squad completely (let alone players beiong willing to go/Chelsea find buyers for the players) and capture all of his targets in one and a half transfer windows!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im pretty sure ED has said many time dont listen to him in press conferences.

ML

Agree1 Disagree1

You lot are donkeys.....we r still strong,and could still go on a run of six or seven wins.just like we did this time last year...... yes the team needs a clear out and some fresh blood in.....WE WILL SIGN 1 0R 2 MORE IN JANUARY FACT....AND ITS GOING TO BE A MASSIVE SUMMER SPREE... SO QUIT MOANING AND GET BEHIND THE BOYS.

With AVB telling us that there will be no more transfer activity before Tuesday's deadline are we to assume that the De Bruyne deal is off until the summer? {Ed002's Note - If you would like to, sure.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I'll take that as yes then unless you have some different take on AVB's words. {Ed002's Note - Why put words in to my mouth? I didn't say "yes" did I.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Good answer ED. Ever thought of being a politician? {Ed002's Note - I did say do not pay any heed to what AVB says during interviews.]

Agree0 Disagree1

ED002 has said many times to not hang on every word AVB says in press conferences...let's judge Chelsea's transfer activity for ourselves on 1st February.

Why does AVB do that? isit to get the media off his case ed? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

Ed2: with this little time on the clock left in this winfdow, do you think we would be able to dispach Bosingwa? Also, are we looking to offload Malouda this window, rather than summer and is it related to possible adfition of Willian?

JG {Ed002's Note - If a club were to make an offer for Bosingwa then he will leave. It is in his hands to talk to other clubs. There is a slim chance now that FM will move on.}

This is a post about Youtube videos of Willian, i remember when mufc bought Anderson an i saw a few youtube videos of him nut megging players and skinning them all over the field, i doubt hes done that once in the prem an hes not that kind of player at all, so in relation to people saying Willian isnt this isnt that on here, i can seem him doing well on the wing an adding some very much needed width to the team, i hope he does come in, i remember when Chelsea played with 2 real wide players up top and we won them prem 2 years running so lets hope we see the same again, I hope we buy Willian Hazzard and De Bruyne! Tom

Believable6 Unbelievable1

The main positive to the potential signing of Willian is the versatility he can offer, he's comfortable on either side as well as in the middle.

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree Tom. Willian will be a great signing. Hope hazard signs too. I have a feeling the last signing we do will be hazard. i think willian and de bruyne won't be a problem to sign

Agree2 Disagree0

You would have seen videos of Anderson doing that because when he was playing in Portugal he operated as a very attacking player high up the pitch. Fergie has turned him into the average midfielder he is today by trying to teach him to defend. As for Willian, I hope we do sign him, youtube videos are are poor way to judge as player. I have to agree with the previous posters that Willian will add some much needed width to Chelsea, something we have missed for years, so let's hope we get our man.

Agree4 Disagree0

We did the same to Mikel.

From a reliable source :
Andrea Galiani told the press that tonight AC Milan will present their new striker , Argentinian with the letter Z at the end of his last name . That is either Maxi Lopez or Carlos Tevez . Due the number of foreign players (and strikers) in the squad , does this mean that Pato is available ? Can Chelsea beat PSG and sign Pato ?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Pato decided against the move to psg hence ac milan deal not complted before

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed2: i've read this also. Although i highly doubt Pato is available, but Robinho may. That is unless Lopez has dual citizenship. Could you comment, please.

Thank you,
JG {Ed002's Note - Lopez is an Italian citizen. You are correct that Robinho may be available at the right price but miuch depends on what happens with Tevez I would think.}

hi ed any news on the uptake of the youngsters as part of the deco dea,l i know piazon has come over but i thought there was two more.
thanks {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Piazon. Chelsea had four options on Fluminense players. One option was traded immediately and then Chelsea exercised the first option in respect of Wallace - a RB. Subsequently the other options were exercised in respect on Ronan (a LB) and Pernao (a forward), Chelsea own part of the economic rights of each and before any move can take place have to (a) buy the remaining part of the economic rights; (b) wait until the kids are 18; and (c) have the players agree the move.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hi Ed
Thanks as always for you insights during the madness that masquerades as a transfer Window.In respect of the owning of part economic rights on players.
1) How long do Chelsea retain the option to buy in full the rights to sign these prticular players.
2) What percentage of the economic rights do Chelsea hold on present on each player.
3) Is this a controlling option held by Chelsea or could the club in this case Fluminese do business with another suitor and just buy back the option held by Chelsea.
Thanks again for your time, and much like the insight you provided in the last transfer window I find these financial explainations of how business is done behind the scenes fascinating.

{Ed002's Note - (1) I don't expect it is defined. (2) Chelsea obtained 40% of Wallace's rights on the transfer of Deco and have since bought more - but I don't recall how much. They have 50% of each of the others. Wallace is effectively a Chelsea player but if he decided he wanted to move elsewhere or stay where he is then no doubt a deal could be arranged or Chelsea would just sit on his rights as a third-party owner until sold. Certainly Roma were interested in him. The other players can again chose against a move if they so wish. Chelsea are third party owners who if they went elsewhere could negotiate the sale of their part of the players rights.}

Thanks Ed much appreciated.

Ed do u still think we got the spending power as before or will the ffp stop us? What's your thoughts on this ed?
Torreswillcomegood {Ed002's Note - I would not worry about the FFP rules just yet.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ed2: i have read that UEFA won't be able to implement them at the hardest, i.e. with exclusion from CL. On the other hand i believe the top clubs will have too much power to fight any actions from UEFA, whilst threatening to resurrect G-14. CL has grown so much financially, that debt ridden clubs will want the biggest piece of the pie anyway.

I can't envisage UEFA hardlining over top clubs. I believe Platini will be gone to FIFA by 2013 andso will the FFP rulings. It's just a smokescreen. It is fair, it adgheres to the Platini programm, but it is unachievable. So
UEFA is pretending to have this innitiative, but it won't ever work.

{Ed002's Note - Typically the debt ridden clubs are not those who will be qualifying for Europe in any case. UEFA are keen on doing something about the issue but also run scared of a breakaway pan-European league and any potential legal action that could arise. I would think that over the next five or six years there will be the occasion wrist slapping and strongly worded letter before a complete restructuring of the leagues in any case.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, i share your view on this. Somehow i believe that the clubs will either seek better deal from Uefa, or whilst threatening with the idea of European Super League, will seek to max out on the national FA's revenue sharing system. Anyway, a reform is looming, but at the same time i believe, that the managementat the club knows so musch better than me how to deal with the FFP and i sense, that it will not have any effect on Chelsea. {Ed002's Note - There are discussions held at least once a year between a number of the "major" European sides, the most recent in August last, about a breakaway and a lot of analysis has been carried out to look at the viability of it.}

Post about Youth . . .

Courtois -19 (Strong chance first team)
Hutch -22 (depends on injuries)
Kalas -18 (decent chance)
Chalobah -17 (good chance)
Bertrand -22 (strong chance)
Romeu -20 (in)
Piazon -18 (strong chance)
Josh - 18 (in)
Sturridge -22 (in)
Lukaku -18 (In)
Lalkovic -19 (decent chance)

Just for the people saying the club is in crisis. This is a pretty decent team for 22 and under, i cant see how anyone can disagree with that. Admittedly, not all of these players will make the grade, but atm we've got a lot of youngsters with at least a decent chance. A few notable misses aswel with PVA, Ferus, Mellis, Bruma, Kakuta, Davilla, Again all of these under 22. Couple that with the likes of Luiz 24, Ramires 24, Mata 23. In my opinion thats a massive amount of quality players under the age of 24 currently at the club. And then onto our current targets Azpilicueta 22, Hazard 21, De Bruyne 20, Willian 23. The future is bright and i dont see how anyone can say the club isnt doing the right thing

Ed could you clarify this. Are chelsea making a bid for van der wiel? My sources are telling me an offer is being considered. {Ed002's Note - All I can say is that there is no completion of his move to Valencia yet but I do not know why. It is possible that if he does not move that Chelsea may make a bid.}
