Do chelsea have any interest in Giovinco? {Ed002's Note - Giovinco has an agent who has talked up a potential offer from Chelsea but he has a hopelessly complicated ownership situation that will eventually see him return from Parma to Juventus in my opinion.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Does he have on of those, One clubs owns 50% and the other owns 50%? {Ed002's Note - It is rather more complicated, but something like that.}

Would or is Chelsea intrested in pedro ed?, as his chances at barca are looking slim! He doesn't play as much! {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

Ed002 Do you believe the club have looked at options for replacing AVB recently as has been widely reported?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - It is not a matter for discussion.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Why would that be Ed?
Last season you commented on CA demise before it was generally known. {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in and there is no point in discussing this matter right now. Feel free to speculate but don't expect too much input from me - and I am travelling much of this week in any case, so my time will be limited.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well good luck on your travels and I hope you find a new club for our deeply floored novice manager!

Lets acknowledge our main weakness - we lack the cutting edge, goals and defensive discipline. All of these problems have solutions which we must address in the summer.

If our manager stays - we have to let di Matteo go. He is just as much attack orientated as oir manager. We need to have someone who knows a thing or two aboit positioning and marking and preferrably set pieces. Paco Ayesteran or Steve Clarke, people with knowledge and respect. We should solve these shortcomings, one can see, that they can be solved without adding to the back four (if and when Bosingwa leaves, of course).

Cutting edge, forward pass, opening spaces, etc. We lack people with those attributes, that is true. If One Mata can do for us, what he is doing, then imagine what two or three people like him can do. I understand that our dear Ed2 does not rate Modric and prefers Pastore, but i guess Modric would be ideal. Although i doibt any top player would like to join this mess at the Bridge, so will have to look somewhere else.

If you solve creativity, you might as well have more goals, which is the main thing in football, isn't it? Logic says if you create a lot, you will score, but... Torres won't. With the service he gets at national team - you won't get better than that. And he still can't. That is it. It pains me a lot. But he's got problems. He might need a fresh start in Spain.

People here say that swapping Falcao eith Torres will suit all parties, but i just can't figure, how would that suit Atletico.

I would look at the obvious - a right back - Van der Wiel. If he doesn't want to come, or has other ideas, just play Ivanovic and look for someone to develop, as there are no decent options.

Modric - obvious choice, would change the rhytm of the team from day one and would be instant hit, like Mata. Not sure on akternatives, as there aren't many. Few could be available. That is if we stick with 4-3-3 and play Mata on the left. If the plan is to play him centrally, then we should not look any further than diMaria. Forget Hazard. He hasn't proven anything and wants to go to Spain, or wherever else, Goetze is a fantasy also. DiMaria is getting it done in top league, in top club every week.

Striker. My preference is Higuain. Pace, power, height, all of it.

With three signings like that, the whole team would change and makebit happen.

Cech
VDW/Ivanovic-Terry/Cahill-Luiz-Cole
Essien-Ramires-Modric
Sturridge-Higuain-Mata

Or
Same back five and
Essien-Ramires
Sturridge-Mata-DiMaria
Higuain

The first priority is to find an experienced and credible manager to replace the destructive muppet we have currently.
We could buy all the players in the world and still not perform to our optimum as is the case currently.
Despite the short comings of the current squad we are certainly not 15/17 points worse than the Mancs.
And lastly picking the most technically talented players does not guarantee a winning formula.
Character and mental strength are as important as talent and some might argue more important at the highest level.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think cole needs to be changed, sturridge for a proper winger like Eden hazard , Essen holding with some one like mceachran with him with his quality passing. So Cech, wiel, luiz, Cahill, pereira. Essen, mceachran, hazard, mata, di Maria, Torres 41131

Agree0 Disagree0

That looks pretty good i have to say... however i do struggle to understand why people continue to put Sturridge in a 'dream Chelsea Team'. If we're dreaming/hoping/wishing to have such players as Di maria, Higuain, Modric, Hazard, Moura then at least lets dream of getting rid of the one footed greedy moaning Sturridge. He just isn't what i'd call 'Chelsea quality' i'm afraid.

The best long term replacement for Lampard would be Erickson of Ajax. Ed do you know if Chelsea have looked at him?

Sgt Slaughter {Ed001's Note - he has rejected Chelsea twice, because in the past they rejected him after trials.}

Believable6 Unbelievable2

It doesnt look like we have a shot at all to sign him, i think the best replacements are either Goetze or Lucas, both are a more creative version of Frank and both will be around for a while.

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

None of them are anywhere close to Lampard. They play different positions to Frank, how can they replace him?

Both Moura and Goetze are Mata type of players and not Lampard. They cant replace him. Yhey wouldn't play in our 4-3-3 midfield even if they came. Why even post this rubbish.

There is one Modric. There is Hamsik and Pastore. Now you could consider those ones "replacement", but i just don't see a need for replacing something which is not broken.

Lampard is a great footballer at his age and will be for at least a few more years. Why replace him? Coz he can tell you that your s**tty tactics do not work? Yeah you can dump him for that, i guess, but that would not be for footballing reasons.

He is a top players, stop this bulls**t of replacing him. Noone plays better in our midfield and Lamps said the obvious after the Bolton game - i can sit on the bench and i still want my team to win. Which is - if you thing droping me for a clown like Meireles helps the team, then you are an person and my team is paying the price for your mental weakness. I am with Frank - he proves it with his actions, not words.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

He does need to be replaced in the next couple of years JG, you are aware of that fact? Its not bulls**t, i rate Frank as highly as the next person but he has lost some pace and doesnt have 5 years left in him.

Ed, do you know if the year extension offered to Drogba includes a second year that would be dependent on next seasons performances? That would make sense to me! Also do you, or anyone else for that matter, know anything about our youth keeper Blackman; any chance of him getting in ahead of Turnbull or Hilario next season? I have read a few good reports about him! {Ed002's Note - The offer to Drogba is for one year - he wants two. Blackman travelled with the first team squad this week for experience and as cover. I know little of him. I am told the real standout at Academy level is Ake, but I really have lettle knowledge of the game at that level.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Blackman has been a huge part of Chelsea Youths success in the Youth Cup with some stand out performances. He has won us games during the penalty shoot outs against West Ham and whoever we played before that (i have forgotten). Courtious, who is our 19 belgium keeper on loan at athletico madrid managed to reach 500 minutes without conceding in la laga in the past week and is much more inclined to take over from Cech. Blackman is a great prospect though.

Ed, is it true that Bayern Munich are leading the race to sign Mario Goetze? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this will almost certainly result in Goetze being available in the summer. Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}
