Ed 002 At one time I think you said we were interested in signing Khedira. Is that still the case and would it be dependent on whether Mikel leaves?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid want to sell and there were discussions. The price was far too high for Chelsea. The player wants to stay and I suspect with Alonso injured that may well happen.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Ed 002 If Mikel were to leave do you think the club would look to sign someone or maybe 'promote' Chalobah?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that. There is a squad of players, not lots of individuals.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, do you think an agreement can be reached at all concerning khedira or have madrid priced him out of the move completely? thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - It is what I said above. That is it for now unless something changes. What I "think" has no real consequesnce.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok thanks ed appreciate it

Ed002, very glad to have you back as I think we all are. Would chelsea still like to bring in another cb? Ed001 said it wouldn't surprise him/her if a cb was brought in.
Thanks for your knowledge {Ed002's Note - Chelsea remain interested in Mangala but there is interest from elsewhere. Porto have put a price on him that none will pay. This is all a knock on from the Marquinos situation.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Thanks Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think we could go for varane?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - We have been through that loop already.}

Mangala and Varane are great options, let's hope we can get one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 now that you have forgiven this lot, when are you coming back our way :). I promise we will be good :) {Ed002's Note - One thing at a time - and they are only on probation here.}

Ed is there anything to update regarding Mikel, there were rumours a few days ago about bids from Napoli/Gala. Is this true and do you think he may leave? {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray put a bid on the table and there is a chance he will go. I am not aware of a bid from Napoli at this time.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Ed if Mikel eventually gets sold would we look to bring in a replacement for that position or do the club feel we have sufficient cover in that position.? {Ed002's Note - The club has made an effort to buy a central midfield player in Khedira and failed. There remains interest in another but I would think he will stay where he is for another year.}

Agree0 Disagree0

By any chance Ed is the other De Rossi? Thanks {Ed002's Note - No, he looks to be heading elsewhere.}

I think CM we are set. Lampard, V Ginkle, Essein, Ramires, De Bruyne can all play there if Mikel leaves.

With Lampard, Essein and Mikel probably not being there next season then would make sense to buy a cm.

Cough cough Kondogbia

I really hope that another player was Gundogan, please Ed, can you tell me, I hope I'll live the day Chelsea signs a deep lying playmaker.

hi ed thanks for filling us in,
anything else on mata to united to help us sign rooney.
personally I know we have too many midfielders but i'd rather keep mata than get rooney as he's got much more to offer.
midfielders
mata hazard ramires lampard van ginkel de bruyne lampard willian and so on

likely to leave:
mikel moses ba {Ed002's Note - There has been no enquiry for Manchester United about Mata.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I just wish the media realised that now, reading the back pages is even more of a chore with the Mata story on repeat

Hi ed018 Do you think our chances of getting Rooney is still bright? Is it true that there is a provision under the FIFA regulation that allows a player to buy out his contract provided he is 28 years and has served for 3years into the contract? Is Rooney likely to explore that? What in your opinion has made Rooney not to turn in a transfer request up till now? Thanks for your good works {Ed018's Note - I can't help with the Fifa provision your asking about and as it stands now I don't think United are gonna sell to Chelsea}

EDs Other than Rooney who else is being seriously considered by the club for one of the striker roles?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - There have been a number of players looked at. There have been several discussions with Galatasaray regarding Yilmaz but it looks like there will be no way a deal could be finalised. A representative of Eto'o has approached Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli and Roma - and perhaps some other clubs. The player would like to go to the United States but the option does not exist. The sort of deal he is seeking would not be financially viable for Chelsea nor, I would think, for any other European club. The financial options would need to change very significantly for Chelsea to agree to a move - the numbers are astronomical. Right now Inter are looking to put together a non-negotiable offer for him to return there. If it is down to money and length of contract, Al-Gharafa have a plan to take him to the Middle East. Jackson Martinez is a very viable option but there is a significant complication. Porto are prepared to cash in on Jackson Martinez with varying degrees of interest from Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs, Galatasaray, Juventus and Barcelona in recent months. However, whilst Porto will seek his full release clause that they have insisted would be required for any sale, on the Iberian peninsula or elsewhere, they are now looking to have the player sign a new contract that will see a 50% rise in his release clause. Two bids from Juventus were turned down and both Spurs and Milan baulked at the asking price. This left Napoli who have spoken with Porto and the player and "broadly" struck a deal with the player, but not the club. Chelsea are willing to pay the release clause but any increase in it will end with the club walking away. An offer made for Lewandowski was rejected. There is also one other player that Chelsea are considering, but there is nothing to say about that right now.}

Great thanks Ed.

It's great to see you back Ed002!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great to have you back Ed 002!
Well things don't look too promising at the moment do they.
I presume you are of the opinion Rooney will be staying at Utd like most people? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have been of the mind to make a "final" offer for Rooney. We will see what happens but I doubt he will move to Chelsea.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, fountain of knowledge as always, very interesting situation, do you think Jackson Martinez would be a good acquisition for the club? I've not seen much of him Cheers {Ed002's Note - The club think so - at the right price.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I mirror the posters above, Ed002 you have been sorely missed! I hope now that you need to be logged in the persons who do not appreciate you stay away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great to see you back Ed002 and thanks to Ed018 for the input you have given us recently, Ed002, can I ask you of your opinions of Martinez, I think he looks good but the requested price is a bit 'heavy', from your information I have the assumption that he may be our 'Plan B' as he seems most 'available', thanks Eds. {Ed002's Note - It is what I said it is above. Don't get in to trying to rank Plans A thru X.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Many thanks for the invaluable update Ed002 and welcome back to the page. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok Ed, stupid of me to make that assumption, but nonetheless, thanks for the infromation you share.

Moses to Liverpool. Any truth ed? {Ed002's Note - Moses is available for sale, and possibly, loan. It is not out of the question. Interest has also been shown by Everton.}

Great, thanks Ed.

This last week of the window is going to be very Interesting I think.

I heard West Brom were interested too, don't know how true it is

Welcome back Ed, hopefully the compulsory registration will keep some of the mugs away who seem intent on ruining this great site!

Is it true that mata is in negotiations with athletico Madrid? {Ed044's Note - From Ed02 elsewhere: Atletico have had a bid turned down for Eriksen this weekend and have struggled to get Diego to return. Pjanic has been looked at so there is interest in that type of player. As far as I know there has been no approach to Chelsea at this time.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

According to Radio Marca, Atlético Madrid have enquired about how much Chelsea would sell Mata for, as Willian's arrival means that there are now five players in a similar position (Mata, Oscar, Willian, De Bruyne and Hazard). However, there's no information on how Chelsea responded, and Mr Simeone has gone on record saying that he wasn't consulted and that he heard it from the Spanish media. However, this is commonplace in Spain, where the coach often has very little say in what negotiations are being made for players.
