Hey ed018 do you happen to know the release clause in moutinho's contract and ive also just seen that anelka is being offered to real betis on the daily mail
Thanks
Matt {Ed018's Note - i believe it is 30 to 35 million Euro's. somewhere around there, can't remember of the top of my head}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Who do you think are the most likliest signings ED018?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 23:05:00
ed do you know if this sneijder deal is something we are interested in? also i find it astounding that nobody has figured out who you are. {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure Wes Sneijder will not be playing for Chelsea this season. As for me, I remain surprised but what the hell. I shall be at the Toulouse v PSG Sunday - maybe you can zoom in and see me.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

ED002 do you have close connections with all french clubs? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Your either zola or Jimmy floyd {Ed002's Note - Or a mixture of the two?}

Agree0 Disagree0

If someone mentioned who you were on here, would it stop you from being able to give out the information you do give out? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 do you live in Monaco? and were u at the super cup last night? {Ed002's Note - I have lived in Monaco and Cap d'Ail for a significant part of the past 25 years but am based in good old Blighty now. I did not go to the Supercup last night.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Connections with the Chelsea scouts or someone similar...

Agree0 Disagree0

I must agree with the poster who expresssed surprise that no one has figured out who you are.Given your in depth knowledge of all things related to football especially the financial shenanigans, the extent of which far exceeds that of mere mortals.Also I think its excellent that we can now start pestering you with questions as to your identity now the transfer window is slowly closing.I of course am way above such behaviour.
p.s where abouts will you be sitting at the Toulouse game, not that I really give a damm about your identity you understand. {Ed002's Note - I don't know where I will be just yet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 22:18:56
hey ed, is there any truth to the rumor that we will be offering money+anelka/malouda for sneijder? thanks {Ed002's Note - Let's assume no until we are shocked by the offer.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

What do you mean by that ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think when he said no he actually meant no

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 21:33:08
Alright ed ?

You prob won't say if it is true but is it true that Chelsea are going to double bid for ganso and neymar ? Please say it's true especially neymar as this is the player I want to see most at Chelsea {Ed002's Note - I suspect a little bit of an effort will still be made for Ganso. By no means can anyone predict the out come.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

26 Aug 2011 21:20:47
Can players still be bought from clubs in Brazil? {Ed002's Note - Sure - just5 not sold.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Aug 2011 22:37:59
Krasic for alex swap deal. Not major but heard it here first

Believable2 Unbelievable3

26 Aug 2011 22:19:14
I think bidding too much for Modric would be a mistake (so above £35million). We should switch our attention to someone else, such as Moutinho or Sneijder.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

26 Aug 2011 20:41:29
Imagine Torres n hulk and mata in same team, Hulk looks built for premier league, long shot I know ed but please tell me were interested or have bid for him?? {Ed018's Note - there has been no bid for Hulk}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I agree Hulk would be an amazing signing, him or Hazard would really add another dimension to the team. If we could another CM like Gotze, Hamsik maybe Moutinho, as it looks like Modric deal is dead, then I believe we could win the prem and probably Champo League.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 19:28:50
Moutinho starts for porto 2nite does that mean he wouldn't be available for chelsea in the champions league if he joined? {Ed018's Note - tonights match will not cup tie him}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Aug 2011 19:07:52
Anelka wants to move to Anji according to russian news. Fee around 8m.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

If we get 8 million. i will be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like a good option for all parties

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have to say for 8 mil i would jump at the chance. Do not get me wrong unlike most of the so called fans on here, i think anelka has suplied us a good service over the years and would wish him the best wishes for the future. Bring in huk, de bruyne and ganso. We will smash it

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 16:55:57
Krasic picks up injury in training today possibly affecting move to chelsea

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I'm not even going to look into this because i suspect you are talking b.s

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt even think we were close to him.....

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 16:18:11
ed in your opinion what strengths do u think neymar and ganso would bring to the club?
and would you like to see them here? {Ed002's Note - I am sorry, I don't really have time to start discussing players too much. Perhaps some of the other posters will give an opinion.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

People need to get real neymar isn't going to Chelsea. End of

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate, didn't realise you were his agent. until he signs for someone else he is an option. to the original poster, they both would bring a typical brazilian flair.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neymar is amazing atm and Ganso may well be the next kaka.They both have tons of flair and could probably take most premier league teams on their own. Neymar scores lots of goals, embarrasses opponents and gets a few assists. He is also a very good freekick taker and could walk into any squad in the world. Ganso is a very good passer with lots of flair. Scores a few. Can develop into a truly great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

The two best young talents in the world. Would love to see them both at the bridge. The person with the first post is probably a spurs fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 16:10:19
Ed was the Anzi bid for Ganso and Neymar rejected because neither player wants to go there or because santos' valuation was higher than the €100m offered {Ed002's Note - Because of the players.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Who on this planet would go to anzi other than a gold digger? like etoo, classic example of someone who wants money and nothing else

Agree0 Disagree0

So do u think a combined offer of €100m for both Neymar and Ganso would be seriously considered? would be an amazing deadline day deal {Ed002's Note - Let's assume no.}

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 16:10:02
does roman ever have a say on who he wants to bring to the club?
so if he saw a player he liked he would make sure we get him?
they were saying that about sheva so was wondering if he was to do with that
i know he is the owner or does he leave it to the rest of the staff {Ed002's Note - Shevchenko is not a good example. But Mr Abramovich stays in the loop with signings.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

So do i take it from that then ed that if he sees a player he likes then it is like everyone is saying he will get his man? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Abramovich needs to buy better players not these old horses....we need to win this season....let the coaches do their job

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 16:08:16
Any truth krasic? The metro seem to think we are interested? {Ed002's Note - He has been discussed on and off over the summer but I very much doubt Juve would sell him..}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

26 Aug 2011 15:14:10
Unsure whether the Modric deal is dead as the transfer merrygoround is moving.Baldock from mk dons on his way to west ham,Parker and possibly diara from Madrid on there way to spurs which hopefully means Modric to Chelsea.A friend of mine who has good sources in spurs has told me Harry will lose his job if he keeps trying to push through the Modric deal,as harry doesn't want a unhappy player and needs to sell before buying new players.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Let's hope so

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should offer torres and cash in exchange for moderic and bale, wat you guys think. drog still has the legs so does anelka, we gone down hill a bit since torres came?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 14:59:29
apparently Hazard is due to be an arsenal player this evening, not sure how reliable it is but ed, why is arsenal more appealing to him and any reasons why he wouldn't want a move to chelsea? {Ed002's Note - I don't know that he is signing for Arsenal this evening, but he does not have the choice between Arsenal and Chelsea so the question seems irrelevant.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

I understand he doesnt just have this choice but before you said he didnt want to come to chelsea? {Ed002's Note - So? His preference has been clearly stated, I don't know how Chelsea enter the discussion at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

There was interest in Hazard, the club were advised against signing him by the head scout over attitude issues (Such as storming out the stadium after being substituted in Belgium's last game against Turkey) and the club have now dropped their interest. The player wants to end up in Spain eventually, but if he decides to join Arsenal, it doesn't mean they are more appealing than us, it means they are the only team currently interested in signing him. I don't think he will end up there in any case, because as I understand it Arsenal have similar concerns about him as well. This subject is getting quite boring, he will not be a Chelsea player this year.

Blue 25

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ive been misunderstood BUT i understand what youre saying. my point is, how comes when chelsea showed interest, he seemed to have no interest at all but now arsenal are in for him, obviously he must find them more appealing if hes willing to go there?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 14:28:40
Deadline deal for Modric? Negative, not going to happen...

Double deadline deal for Neymar and Ganso? We can dream...

Deadline deal for either of the two? Possible..

Deadline deal for Moutinho? Best chance of any of the players we have been linked with...

Believable9 Unbelievable2

No brazil player can move til jan as the window there is closed

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 14:23:50
Expect a huge double bid for both ganso and neymar 80-85 mil ganso to join now neymar in january, I would say ganso would be willing to come given that there is a nice brazilian and Portuguese speaking circuit at chelsea atm plus neymar joining him in 6 months time, santos will probably try and convince him to go due to sponsorship issues in keepin both of them this season

Matt0814

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Didn't anzhi have a similar bid of 100 mil rejected. {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The key word being anzhi

Matt0814

Agree0 Disagree0

How reluctant would ganso or neymar be to coming to england?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 13:39:58
i think a lot of chelsea fans need to stop being so needy we have bought some exellent signing this window and spent on close to £60 mill

and not to forget the £70mill we spent in january this is not football manager on the xbox i for 1 am more than happy with our squad if they buy anybody else then great if not we have more than enough to win any comp we are in remember most of this team won the double 2 yrs ago

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Didnt know football manager was on xbox

Matt0814

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh,
I just got to know my friend, thankyou very much.
it doesn't matter which position player you spend for.
just count the total spending and be happy.
I did a mistake by seeing a big hole in the center mid and a right wing.
well said mate, carry on.
you are a true fan..

Refknapp-Modric is staying will be playing against man city on sunday. looks like the deal is dead should of moved on to moutinho or someone else ages ago

Source:SSN

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Didnt Nasri play a few days before leaving the Gooners?
Until Modric says he is staying it still remains a possiblity.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can all but guarantee modric will not be playing for spurs.

26 Aug 2011 13:04:00
Really looking forward to the next 5 days of the transfer window.I don't think we are short on numbers or quality,but we lack pace throughout the squad.We no longer have the ability to counter attack teams.hulk on the right would be class,but Porto would not sell for less than 50m.Hazard,van der Weil,Modric/ganso also de Byrne.But saying all that roman gets his man so I wouldn't be surprised to see neymar on deadline day

Believable4 Unbelievable3

26 Aug 2011 12:37:24
Hi Ed002,

Are you willing to give a percentage on how likely it will be for Chelsea to sign a Midfielder in this window please?

Thanks as always mate

Dan1CFC {Ed002's Note - 100%, no problem at all.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Haha i mean not on signed already if your taking that view... let me rephrase it to iron out and loop holes you might find.

please could you put a percentage on if Chelsea will sign a midfield player from now until 31st August that names are not Lucas Piazon, Juan Mata or Oriol Romeu.

Cheers mate

Dan1CFC {Ed002's Note - 43%}

Agree0 Disagree0

100% a midfielder with been heavily linked with or one we may not be aware of? {Ed002's Note - Mata.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That's accurate prediction work Ed. I was thinking more around the 47.4453% mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant another one because seemingly, modric is a not an option anymore...

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 12:24:07
Hi Ed, I don't think the Modric deal is dead. If so why haven't Levy and Rednapp asked him to go Public?? He was quick enough to say he wants to leave. I know you should never believe everything you read but Jason Burt at the Telegraph has stated 40m final bid, Way over priced i know, But hey Roman always gets his man.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Last 7 words are not excately true...

Agree0 Disagree0

If roman always got his man i think we will be talking messi ronaldo neymar playing for chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be realistic, I have never heard CFC even mention Messi or Ronaldo. And the Neymar deal is more complicated.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 12:21:55
alright ed ?

if we let sturridge go we are fools he looked the best player by far at pre season do you think he will go ed ? {Ed002's Note - What makes you think there is any thought of him leaving?}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Seriously people, stop thinking everything you read is true. think about it for a second, why would sturridge want to leave, he left city to come to us. there is no chance he will be leaving unless he asks to.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 12:13:59
Hi Ed, is there any interest in Banega of Valencia. I think he fits the bill if the Modric deal fails to materialise. {Ed002's Note - None.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

26 Aug 2011 11:42:41
Eds, thanks for all the updates; it's good to read a site that doesn't panda made up stories.

I am aware that you have eluded to this on here many times; but I was wondering if I could just clarify somethings on Neymar, as you keep saying nothing has changed, but I am not entirely sure what it has not changed from; and yes, I have read previous posts.

You have mentioned before that there is a bid from Chelsea on the table for Neymar; is it for around £40m? Yet, Santos have increased their asking price, but what to?

I am aware that he has a number of wacky demands: 100 first class flights to and from Brazil to London every year, 1028 green M&Ms and a golden monkey; but is that the only potential stumbling block with regards to the package?

Neymar has come out most weeks to say where he'll be playing next year and it seems to bounce around between Chelsea, Real, Barca and staying at Santos; but do we know if he had a preference?

Moreover, there were murmours that there was an agreement with Real for him; fueled by Jose suggesting htat he was happy leaving a squad place "open"; but I have also read that they have pulled out; is there clue to what is going on there?

Thanks for taking the time to read all this. I guess I am really trying to find out what our chances are actually getting him; as they've gone from good to slim to none back to moderate over the last 15/16 months; wondering where we are now.

AG {Ed002's Note - The stumbling blocks are time scale based - the fee and package are surmountable. The first request was for him to stay until the end of the season so he could play in the Club World Cup in December. The next request was that he could only be transferred after the Olympic games so he would appear under the glorious name of the Saints. The third was that he would then return to Brazil after winning the Olympic gold and stay until the end of the season - December 2012. Plus there is interest from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Anzhi, Roma and, by next summer, Barcelona maybe.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed, do you think that a resolution might be sorted out? Or at least, is it possible he could agree to move to Chelsea before someone else comes in and "snatches" him? AG {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation the best I can - I am not going to try and start guessing what will happen. As soon as it doesn't happen the abuse will start and the Editors are sick of it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Ed; thanks for your time. I understand there can't be a concrete answer at this stage - don't understand the mentality of people sending abuse, other than it being moronic

Keep up the good work (you too Ed018)

Rumours from Brazil newspaper that Chelsea are looking to sort out a deal for Ganso on deadline day, Neymar in January and Lucas (Not Piazon, the one from Sao Paulo) in January deadline day or next summer.

Also, Chelsea may sell Malouda and Drogba and sign up Wesley Sneijder on deadline day, that is from a friend in Milan who heard it on the news.

Agree:Neymar,Ganso Vetonghen
Disagree: Modric, Hazard, Cahill

{Ed002's Note - No clubs schedule activity for the final day. There have been discussions over the past couple of days in the South of France - and I don't believe anything has changed too much. There was a further discussion about Krasic and again de Bruyne and Ganso were discussed. I do not know yet if de Bruyne will be fit enough to take a medical this week. Krasic provides decent options but Juventus will not be keen to sell. Ganso remains interested in Milan but Santos need additional sponsorship to keep both him and Neymar for next season.}

Hi, Ed(s),
With Modric seemingly off the agenda, we are still looking thin in the midfield, having chased a number of quality players. I recall that, not long ago, we were interested in Douglas Costa of Shaktar, who looks to be a good fit, and Shaktar are said to be a bit strapped for cash. Strangely, I've not seen Costa mentioned in connection with any team during the window. Do you think that this might be a possible?
Cheers,
John {Ed002's Note - Certainly Costa has been considered before and I am a little surprised that Manchester United have not followed up their earlier interest. However, I suspect that Ganso and Krasic are both still ahead of him in terms of possible targets. Costa can play across midfield as can Mata and Krasic.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ed002 Where does moutinho come in terms of being a target he must be ahead or on par with the highest of possible targets? {Ed002's Note - You think they have some sort of ranking?}

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 10:56:39
Ed have any offers from other clubs been made for Anelka or Kalou? I expect that we'll see some players leaving, I'm just really hoping it won't be Sturridge (most liekly bs rumours). That'll really break my heart if he goes and either of those two stay. Also out of curiosity, what would your preference be with regards to who who stays and goes (out of the 3 players I mentioned), Interesting to see what you think of the 3, as from what I can see a lot of people would be equally sad to see Sturridge go. Thanks for all your hard work. {Ed002's Note - There have been offers for Anelka but I am not so sure if there has been anything firm for Kalou. As we stand right now, it is most unlikely that Sturridge will be leaving.}

Hope the reports are not true that we are about to offer 40m for Modric,would much rather us test liverpools resolve again and bid 50m for luis Suarez or look at neymar again maybe with a higher bid like 50m.Modric is not worth more than 20m wake up Chelsea,I'm sure there's players out there,let's take a chance on someone like hazard.De Byrne hopefully to come in as well

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I believe u sir a deluded Chelsea bidding for Suarez is never gonna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Think torres would jump ship again given the oppertunity ie barca or milan, dont think suarez is in the same catagory as torres, wishful thinking though, expect the scousers to push hard this time around

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 10:21:23
It looks like the Modric deal is dead, although nothing is certain until the window shuts.

Moutinho appears the next option for the club, my worry with Porto is that they have stated on a number of occasions that their players have buy-out clauses and will only be sold if they are met. Chelsea do not appear willing to meet any of their buy-out clauses.

{Ed002's Note - Sturridge will be allowed to leave if he asks for a transfer the same as any other player. He has not done that yet. As for targets, please read through the other posts.}

Is it our policy to let anyone leave who wishes to? Him and David Luiz were probably the only bright spots of last season at our club.

{Ed002's Note - The club will not keep a player who wants out - but there is nothing to say he does.}

I guess when he will get his first game of the season at Sunderland, his career with us will kick off.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anyway, i just think this Sturridge exit is just complete borrocks. Firstly it only comes from Liverpool fans and pages. That's due to "KK British revolution" and Mereiles. Can't comprehend how stupid that is. AVB shipped him out of Porto to get Moutinho, while Sturridge is one of our most promising (and delivering) young guns. It's just load of bs.

Hi ED: can you please explain why we are so quite in this transfer market...though we know that we need some really talented guy(i know you will say that we have a lots of talented guy and i fully agree with that) but i am talking about present player...we should sign some creative player...(i.e wht i mean that if we can win the youngstar will come as a obvious choice see Barcelona) Nevetheless i do feel there is some strategy for not splasing money in this transfer window...i do have feeling that in january we will be on the market again with possibly Neymar,Ganso available...
Chelsea for life {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have bought a number of players, so I am not sure that it has been that quiet. They have also agreed to another arriving in January and several players have moved on - possibly with more to follow in and out. That is not quiet.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Aug 2011 09:03:12
Ed002: Per AVB we are still "short in numbers" in midfield and the manager won't wait till 31st to solve it. I understand we are willing to do business by the end of window. Pastore's gone, Ganso has got other ideas of where would he be next stop, Modric ain't your topic to ask, i'm running out of ideas. Who do you think we could still be after by the end of the window? Or is coach referring to Perreira? {Ed002's Note - Pereira remains an option but it will require another bid to be made. de Bruyne remains an option but it depends on his fitness. Ganso and others previously discussed remain options.}

Hi ed...is it true that modric saga is fenished he will stay with spurs after last night when he talked with levy so now harry said that it is over.yesturday you said moutinho want to stay,Ganso want Ac milan move so who will be the next option for the club. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any Modric saga. Sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Aug 2011 05:52:09
ED,
With days lapsing, we are getting more apart from signing Modrich.

I guess, an imminent option to him can be any one of:
M. Hamsik, J. Moutinho, E. Hazard OR even J. Rodwell.
But, we are too late I suppose.

But, the fact is, we, at any cost require a central play-maker; with a superb dribbling skill.

With Perreira bid going to 50-50 state, J. Mata needs to play on the left and a right winger is still required in case Sturridge gets injured or like that.

Concluding, if we can't get a player from outside, what most of the fans might think is, give McEachren the most of chance to play at center mid, rather playing him as a defensive mid and, don't send Kakuta out on loan.
Also, play Benayoun, forgetting to sell him. He a good asset to the club, at least for one year.
Let Anelka, Kalou or even Drogba leave the club if he wants to.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think we are done for this transfer window, modric looks unlikely to join and with th window closing next week I don't see many surprises happening.

AvB said yesterday that he will definitely be bringing someone in in midfield.
