Is Chelsea really going to bid 40m for Gareth Bale?
26 Apr 2011 18:37:33
Hey Ed, any new developments dealing with Kevin De Bryune? Do you think that Chelsea will consider signing him as a ready replacement for Lampard instead of Pastore, Ganso and Hamsik? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of any developments with him regarding Chelsea sorry, but there are other teams registering an interest in him. I don't think he will be the one Chelsea move for myself.}

Ed, the website, 'the people.co.uk' stated that Jorge Mendez (who is the agent of both Bosingwa and Villas Boas), on discussing the future of Bosingwa with Chelsea, told Chelsea officials that they have to pay £1.5m if they want to get Villas Boas as compensation to Porto, and that Villas Boas is ready to take the managerial job. It seems that Mourinho's gonna stay on at Madrid next season, and which implies that Chelsea have somehow sorted out the dependencies you've been talking about. Ed, please comment. {Ed001's Note - I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself, Jose's future is not sorted yet and if he does come Villas Boas will be coming with him as I understand it. Though 002 might have a different understanding, I am not sure if our sources would differ on this one. But I am told that it is expected that Jose will be in charge for a short period, a couple of years or so, to achieve his ambitions at the club (not sure what they are but I would guess at Champions League glory for a London club) before moving on and leaving Villas Boas to take the reins and lead the club for an extended period. That is what I have been told, but I would say that if Ed002 comes on and tells you otherwise I would trust his sources at Chelsea over mine every single time, so don't take what I am saying as the absolute truth, it is just rumour, though I don't see any reason to disbelieve it.}
Is this correct Ed002 {Ed002's Note - It is rather more complicated than this I am afraid. Certainly the People is not correct. All the folks involved are the same but as I have said there are dependencies which will drive what happens.}

Ed do we still want phil jones as before he got injured is was reported alot that arnesen was seen scouting him
and i think he is future england cb regular
and would be perfect to eventually replace terry and could learn alot from terry if he came now {Ed002's Note - Subotic is seen as the long-term centre back target.}

Hey Ed, any truth in the rumours that Chelsea/Abrmovich are preparing a 40mil move for Gareth Bale? {Ed002's Note - Not as far as I know.}

ED
Were Chelsea not linked with Darijo Srna last season and can he not play down the right (RB, RM, ect.) If this is true would Chelsea not look at him now vdw looks unlikley? {Ed002's Note - Srna may be a fall back position but his age is very much against him.}

ED various websites are saying chelsea are close to completing the Neymar deal or there have been further developments in the deal over the past few days any truth ?
{Ed002's Note - Regardless of how many web sites say it, there remains only one story. There is nothing new to mention. It remains in the hands of teh player to decide what he wants to do at the end of teh season. Personally I think it will probably go ahead.}

Hey ed, why is van der weil almost certainly not coming now? Who are we likely to target instead at right back? {Ed002's Note - I don't know - it would be guess work at this time to seggest anyone.}
26 Apr 2011 12:08:12
Sergio Canales to chelsea ed? {Ed002's Note - I don't think so. He may be available on loan but I doubt real would sell.}
26 Apr 2011 10:47:25
Ed,
are we still interrested in K. De Bruyne?
-if are we close? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest.}
26 Apr 2011 10:11:45
Ed, I read from 'The People.co.uk' that Abramovich will target Villas Boas if Hiddink, as expected, turns down the Chelsea managerial job. Is it true? Is it likely? Or what's the possibility? {Ed002's Note - Nothiong has changed - the managerial situation will only be resolved when the dependencies have been resolved - this will not be until the end of the season.}
26 Apr 2011 09:51:18
I'm guessing that as it's from the Daily Mirror the Bale 40 million bid is just tabloid fairytales?
26 Apr 2011 08:21:55
Ed, is it true that Jose Mourinho wants John Terry at Real Madrid? {Ed002's Note - I can't see that suiting Jorge Valdano. Let's say no it is paper talk.}

The Wallace I have been heraing off is a young brazillian rb who was part of the deco deal I think???
you are right! ! .Wallace is young brazilian fullback, yet to play a senior game for flumineese.30% of his ownership was transfered to chelsea during the Deco deal! and its quite obvious that he will join.am i right Ed??
{Ed002's Note - Pretty much. As part of the Deco deal Cheslea received four options that they could exercise on first pick of Fluminense youngsters. Wallace is the second that has been taken up after Rafael Pernao. As Wallace was part owned by a third party, Chelsea had to purchase the 40% - which they have done.}

Hey Ed, I'm expecting our good friend Pini Zahavi to help finalise the Neymar deal.
I don't think that there will be a right-back coming in because Ivanovic signed a new contract in February and he delivers consistent (7/10) performances.
There might be a possibility that Bastian Schweinsteger might join us with Bayern's chances of Champions League qualification appearing very slim, and he has praised our style of play.
There will be evolution instead of a revolution. Instead of dumping out every player over 30 and spending over 300 million quid just to bring in quality replacements, we will gradually phase out those who are surplus to requirements. Except Ferreira, he is going to be key in the adjustment to life in england for our new brazilian transfers.
{Ed002's Note - Ivanovic really does not want to play at right back except when required as cover. He could well leave in the summer. Van Der Weil will almost certainly not be coming now. I don't know of any interest in Schweinsteger at this time.}
