Non Cfc ED002 reports say Arsenal are in talks to sign Eden hazard do you know of any talks ? {Ed002's Note - I know a little of the talks which have not included any offer being placed. However, the situation remains that the player wants to move to Real Madrid or Barcelona and that will not happen this year.}

Tottenham have announced a second loan signing, with Juventus midfielder Yago Falque following Emmanuel Adebayor into White Hart Lane.

could this be a sign of tottenham preparing for modric's exit?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Its Iago Falque

The Modric deal is alive until Modric is quoted saying he will stay at the Spuds.
Ignore the SSN leaks which are Levy playing poker looking for a higher price.

Come on Ed002 don't be this hard on Modric. I know you have wanted Pastore to come to Chelsea, rather than Modric, but he is a fine fine midfielder. Looks like Porto are only willing to do business at a release clause values, so getting Moutinho for smth. like 30 mil quid is just as much overspending as bidding this high for Modric. I do know that you are perfectly aware of the situation and bid(s) for Modric. If AVB rates him high enough to have him - i think we should.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Y cant v go for salihovic of hoffenheim?? he is a great talent moreover he has only one year left in his contract,,,,, ed plzzzz reply.. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you expect as a reply.}

Ed002: I inderstand that Fernando deal is on standby. One great talent in Mr. M'Vila had another stellar night against Serbs tonight. Are we still tracking him. Do you think we might turn to bid for him? Also - what about Fellaini? Are we still interested? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Fellaini. I suspect that Arsenal and Udinese will fight it out over M'Vila.}

Hi Ed, im not sure if you would want to answer this, but i was wondering who you think would be the ideal players for Chelsea now that we are entering the final days of the window? Personally i would love to see Neymar (weather we have to wait untill Jan or not), with him we could play with three versatile strikers in Neymar, Torres and Sturridge with Mata adding creativity from deeper. Cheers
Nick. {Ed018's Note - ive wanted to see Chelsea sign Neymar and Modric for the last 3 months, so for me that'd be ideal}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I think Modric would add good quality, as well as depth to the squad but i have a bad feeling if we end up signing him it will be for a huge amount of money, more than he is worth. I would obviously welcome his quality in the middle though
Nick.

Why are people still thinking modric is still an option sky sports news has cleary stated modric WILL stay at spurs

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Where on SSN? Nothing on there but still in talks

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have they "clearly stated" this?

Agree0 Disagree0

They have said it about 10 times

Agree0 Disagree0

Correction: Spurs have said that. Modric himself may not agree......

Agree0 Disagree0

Well why would they say modric will stay after holding talks with levy all day? {Ed018's Note - what a dredful saga this has been}

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me about it

Just forget about him he is making us look a desperate laughing stock over rated and over valued

Modric is not playing vs Hearts in League Europe. Does this mean that he is still available? But paying more than 30m would be ridiculous

Believable3 Unbelievable3

That is exactly what it means, he was never going to be played it was just spurs trying to get us to make a panic offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2011 20:04:39
So Modric has been left out of spurs game. Ed are u likely to know anytime soon the contents of modric's meeting with levy? Also arewe interested in Cahill? Cheers mate {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any dealings for Modric.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

25 Aug 2011 19:20:08
Chelseas spending finished,Modric staying at spurs and periera price a big issue.Chelsea willing to pay 20m but Porto want near the 30m Mark.No one leaving other than maybe anelka.
Cech,a.cole,luiz,Terry,bosingwa,lampard,ramires,mata,
Malouda,Torres,Sturridge.
Thats what I think AVB will play 4-2-1-3.
Personally I would play Torres wide left instead of malouda,where he likes to take up positions to cut in.
With the youth and hunger of romeu,lukaku,piazon and Josh I would say the futures bright.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Lukaku is good enough to start and josh can also play behind strikers even as an early sub

Agree0 Disagree0

We will pull off 1 more deal - i have a feeling it will be Kaka at the last minute.

ED002: Usually there some deals ironed out down in Monaco around this time. We have our people out there. Anything you might know of? Porto's there, Genk, too. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing additional I know that I have not explained, at least nothing of particular note. However, you are correct in thinking that much is done in the bar and meeting rooms of the Renaissance, the bar of the Cafe de Paris and on the odd boat moored off Antibes - a 20 minute helicopter ride away.}

aL {Ed002's Note - Should be straight fight between Valencia and Leverkusen for second. Chelsea should have a reasonably easy ride.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Isnt it michael ballacks bayern leverkusen? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

I think Bayern Leverkusen might push us though, other than that pretty straight forward. {Ed018's Note - agreed as long as we take care of buisness at the Bridge we should easily take first}

-That Badger- {Ed002's Note - There is little or no point asking the same questions over and over again, even phrased differently. I have explained the best I can what is going on and the various issues. I have explained the situation with de Bruyne who is able to play in midfield, like Mata and like Romeu and like Lucas who will be arriving in January.}

Hi Ed002, i know you do not know about the modric situation, but i just wanted to know whether he could apply the Webster ruling - 'Under Article 17 of Fifa's regulations for the status and transfer of players, a player who signed a contract before the age of 28 is entitled to buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed."

As modric has been at tottenham for 3 years could he apply this rule?

Bobby {Ed002's Note - No. He signed his contract more recently than that.}

Chelsea boss Andre
Villas-Boas not
confident of signing
Alvaro Pereira from
Porto: We are very far
apart in terms of
numbers.Villas-Boas said:
''The only thing I
can confirm to you
is that we have
made a bid for him
and we are very
far apart in terms
of numbers.''
The Chelsea boss
believes the
problem lies in the
two club’s being
able to agree a fee
which he thinks
will not be
resolved by the
time the transfer
window slams shut
on August 31.
The way things re going if chelsea want to sign all these name listed as target, some move should be made to increase of changes of signing new players. Malouda,anelka,kalou, should go. I think we have 88miln pounds. Ed do u have other possible target to sign? {Ed002's Note - No, and there is no £88M.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 Aug 2011 14:52:27
ed what are the plans for Josh Mceachran, i feel he should go out on loan like Wilshere and Sturridge as we have seen they have improved to great extent. I dont feel that he will push his way into the first team as Lampard and Ramires are above him in the pecking order. Also if we bring in another attacking midfielder which we are trying to do then this will decrease his chances even further.
Also Lampard is still a vital player. any negative fans should realise that last season was his only bad one and that was because of injury, i would expect him to retain some of his usual form throughout the season. {Ed002's Note - It is looking less likely that he will go on loan just yet. I expect he will be a regular on the bench and perhaps go out on loan a little later.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2011 14:51:38
Hey Ed, Quick question.

1. Modric comming looks Shaky

2. Cska interested in Yossi

3. Dzagoev has interested chelsea in the past, fits the bill as an alternative to modric, young and promising

4. If yossi was to go there, would cska be willing to sell Dzagoev, and would chelsea be interested? {Ed002's Note - Benayoun is most likely to go to Roma or possibly even Liverpool. I don't know that any offer has been made by CSKA at all.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2011 14:32:18
ed weve been linked with montolivio before and hes available cheap could we move for him if we dont get modric and do we have any interest in him as similar player to modric {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Do you expect one ed?
-That Badger- {Ed002's Note - Probably not.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed great site more of a question than rumour.
How long does Modric have on his contract left? {Ed002's Note - I think four years.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2011 14:07:44
ed the one thing im noticing is alot of big names being thrown around and it seems we have bought our quota of so called big names with torres and mata
do you think that we have now seen the last of the big spending for this transfer window? {Ed002's Note - It is an entirely subjective question - sorry there is no way to answer it.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Giving an entirely subjective answer I would say no you have not (certainly not in terms of bids) but perhaps in deals that mature.

You need to improve to challenge United. AVB knows this.

ed is there any word on the meeting that was scheduled for today? any news would be much appreciated. {Ed002's Note - There were discussions yesterday before people travelled. There is nothing new beyond what has been said already that I am aware of. It is unclear what will be done about a further bid to Porto for Pereira and Fernando is for now off the agenda.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Are they no longer looking at Fernando's role or just Fernando himself (have they found a better option) {Ed002's Note - All I am saying is that Fernando is not an option at present - try and get away from this thought process that midfield players all have a role.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I should have said characteristics, mvila for example is a similar type of player to Fernando and has also been watched.

Chelsea Players Out-

Mancienne - £2m
Yuri Zhirkov - £13m
Rajkovic - £2m

Probably Departures -

Alex - £8m
Malouda - £5m
Anelka - £4m
Benayoun - £5m

Total - £39m

Chelsea Buys -

Oriol Romue - £5m
Courtais - £8m
Romelu Lukaku - £17.5m
Juan Mata - £23.5m

Chelsea Possible Buys -

Kevin De Bruyne - £8m
Gary Cahill - £17m
Alvaro Periera - £19m
Luka Modric - £30 + Player

Total - £127m

Money In/Out - -£88m

If these possible transfer pan out Chelsea would have spent well above the £80m mark this transfer window. With the sale of 2 solid centre backs looking likely we need cover there and if possible we should go British. Gary Cahill is young, powerful in the air, has pace and is very well experienced in premier league.
We still lack creativity in the centre of the midfield, our long term target Luka modric is looking less likely now so i personally would switch my attention to Eden Hazard. I would play him out far right and bring Mata into the central attacking midfield role. Kevin De Bruyne will be signed when he is fit and a fee of £8m is enough to secure his services, he is a good ball player and distributer and is definately a exciting player for the future. We also have Lucas Piazon coming in January who has unlimited potential. The purchase of Periera i am against and personally feel is a waste of £20m but we have to trust AVB.
With the Purchase of Lukaku and Sturridge getting more playing time this year i dont see a future for Nicholas Anelka anymore, a move to France for the final 2 years of his football career i think is best for all parties.
If we can find a replacement for Kalou then i would definately be in favour of replacing the player who i dont believe is of a Chelsea standard.

PB

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I agree with what your saying personally the only others i would like to see in that list is neymar and ganso

Agree0 Disagree0

No Moutinho? I would rather him Modric to be honest. Cheaper, younger...

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea will get twise as much for malouda and Alex will cost above 10m. Have no faith in that we will buy cahill...

Agree0 Disagree0

I really rate Moutinho but i was just trying to be realistic all the players mentioned we have had enquires or bids made for the players. Moutinho is a 50/50 atm depending on the Modric situation. Another thing with Moutinho he was only bought last summer for 11m euros and is settled at Porto and the president has said he didnt want wholesale changes, with the possible arrival of Periera (why were buying him is beyond me) and the sale of Falcoa i really cant see them willing to sell Moutinho. Plus he is unproven in the premier league.

Cahill
Ganso
Hazard

These would be my perfect purchases but its unlikely any of these will come in.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard looks a bit dodgy tho and ganso wants milan(why i dont know blue is the better colour)
really think modric should not come nor should perriera
may as well as bought tarrabt from qpr lmao thats as close as we will get to having neymar

Agree0 Disagree0

My ideal purchases would be
Subotic
Gotze
Hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

Subotic
neymar
gotze

Agree0 Disagree0

Comparing to other clubs i just can't understand why chelsea doesn't sell players at proper price.. malouda at 5 mil?? he is better than that...last year it was carvalho for around 6 mil.... i know chelsea doesn't need money they have it in plenty but proper prices helps in maitntaing the books..n players prestige...

Agree0 Disagree0

Why oh why would we want Ganso? He has made it obvious that he would rather play in Italy. Only buy players who really want to come here. {Ed002's Note - There has been a long term interest in Ganso. The trick would be to persuade him that he should move to London.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2011 11:28:15
so ed what is the final buys do you see us making?
and do you think we may buy and leave them on loan at thier clubs? (younger players)
also this lucas we signed any potential? {Ed002's Note - Lucas will be a good player. I am not going to tempt fate and attract any abuse about which players will be arriving still. Sorry.}

Chelsea to increase offer for Alvaro Pereira after Porto reject £16.6m bid - report The Portuguese club’s president, Pinto da Costa, has confirmed that the Blues have had a bid turned down, but speculation about his future intensifies after Super Cup omission. Ed any assurance that chelsea wil secure the services of the young talented player? {Ed002's Note - I cannot give any assurance, but a bid was rejected.}

25 Aug 2011 11:16:47
I am really impressed with the chelsea signings in this transfer window. We have brought in some real quality in Mata and Lukaku, and together with the the other options Chelsea already had i dont understand why so many people are being so pesamistic, if you look on the other club pages, no one else is writing us off, infact us along with the manchester clubs are the ones people are most worrying about. We have a good enough squad to challenge on all fronts. And i for one have high hopes for this season, and the ones to come.

Real would hope
to make at least
£17.5 million from
the potential sale
of their attacking
midfielder, who
made only 14 La
Liga appearances
last season.
Arsnal is very interested to secure the services of the brasilian but i think they re nt ready for a permanent move rather on a loan. Ed.cant chelsea go for kaka cos madrid is willing to sale him even at lower bid and i believ he wil perform in premier league. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not going to go after players just for the sake of it.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 Aug 2011 09:38:21
With the days lapsing,
If I were an adviser to AVB, I would suggest him to:

1. BRING: a Right Defender.
2. BRING: a Right Winger.
3. BRING: a Central Play-maker (Moutinho or Modrich or Hazard)
4. BRING: a Goal-keeper (for current case when Cech gets injured.)
5. BRING: a Left Winger cum Defender (like A. Perreira)

5. KEEP: Benayoun (can play both on Middle and Left up front.)
6. KEEP: Alex (if a New CB is not to be looked after.)

7. SELL: Kalou (with these much chances given, it's all clear he can't improve.)
8. SELL: Anelka (with Torres, Lukaku, Sturidge and Drogba, we don't require him any more OR even Drogba can be sold.)
9. SELL: Malouda (with J. Mata arrived and we looking after someone like A. Perreira, there's no need of him.)
10. SELL: Ferreira (not required at all.)

Any suggestions to me ED? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable4 Unbelievable6

I agree with most of your suggestions apart from a new goalkeeper. We have 3 senior goalkeepers plus Courtois who is out on loan. No need for a new goalie. I believe that Bosingwa should get another season to impress so I would delay the signing of a RB. I would sell Alex as I think he wants to go. I would keep Anelka as offers us a wide option.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too late now I can only see them signing Alvaro Pereira maybe Modric typical Chelsea always leaving it to the last minute...

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I dont know why are you all persistent on bringing a new RB, Ivanovic was the Premier League RB of the season 2010, and also our best player last season not to mention Bosingva is also looking beter from game to game(altrough his defence stil sucks).

Believable1 Unbelievable2

25 Aug 2011 08:56:15
Hi ed...i think it is the time to say goodbay with modric transfer saga because the club tried alot and paid alotof money over his price 30millun is enough for him if spurs do not want to sell him chelsea should not insist to bring him forget him this summer. we chelsea fans realy feeling tired from three months ago till now over transfer of him, now its the time to go towards of MOUTINHO he will be good replacement for modric he is also along turn favourite for the AVB saga.

Hey Eds, once again thanks for the wonderful information you grace us with everyday. I was wondering what the plans are for Kakuta. Granted he is a versatile player, I do not see him getting much time with the large group of strikers ahead of him. Not to mention that he had a horrible U20 World Cup with a highly rated French team. I know that the Fulham loan was being reconsidered and I believe that a loan is probably the best option. What do you think? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are looking to loan him out and it looked very likely he was going to LOSC but he is not keen and wants to stay in England. Chelsea are now looking at what loan opportunities exist in England.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think we should loan him to arsenal or villa, they both use wingers and have just sold their best players.

The Guardian is reporting that Chelsea have had a £16.6m bid for Alvaro Periera and expect for Chelsea to up there bid. Its also reporting Juventus are interested in Malouda and a fee of around £5m will be enough to secure his services.

I dont understand the Periera buy AT ALL. A full back or defense minded LM which is the last thing we need. Attacking flair and creativity is needed on both wings.

Ganso is also reported to be available with a fee around £25m being suggested, Manchester United are monitoring the situation.

Santos seem willing to sell Ganso, there are no other viable buyers and Chelsea is in need of a central creative player, he fits the bill. ED is there any update on the Ganso situation and where do we stand atm.

Thanks

PB {Ed002's Note - There is nothing to say at present about Ganso.}

ED002 Do you think Chelsea have a back up plan if Modric fails to arrive is? Do you think if the player puts in a formal transfer request in the next 24 hours it may help the deal? Also is Moutinho the 2nd option Chelsea have as we are attempting to sign Pereira a double swoop is not out of the cards? {Ed002's Note - Please refer to earlier answers.}
