Maybe a stupid question, but is that when the paperwork must be submitted by, or the deal completed. E.G if paperwork is submitted at 22:59:59 would that deal be allowed to go through?

Paperwork would include registration forms, contract, medical details ........ etc?

Also, can it be submitted at 10.59 and approved by the FA later? {Ed018's Note - i believe so, hence why sometimes you might not hear about a transfer until hours or even a day later.}

Hey Ed, is there any truth of Liverpool being interested in sturidge? Ed02 has being telling people on their page that there is. Surely we wouldn't get rid of another striker? Unless we have a plan up our sleeves. Anyway cheers for the good work ed18. Hopefully all the Cavani, hulk questions will not scare you off.

Have we ever been interested in Luuk de Jong? For me he has a great first touch and link up play.he would also be cheaper and younger than many of our targets and would be a great squad striker! {Ed018's Note - he joined Borusia Moenchengladbach just this summer}

Around how much did he go for? {Ed018's Note - 15 million}

Di Matteo has said on SSN that Moses and Azpiliqueta will be the final pieces of business in the window. Do we think that he is just being coy? As we clearly require that new striker and hopefully Cavani.

Isn't it by 12pm today that the paperwork had to be in so that they could play this weekend? i think i saw that on here before from you Ed018. The conversations I have had with Ed 002 boils down to if an acceptable offer is made hes available.
Guess that would be in the region of £15m plus which maybe more than you have available unless Carroll is sold.

The club would not let us have just one striker for the season , even if we did sign cavani that would only leave us two. city and utd both have four as do most of the top flight teams. Studge will still be here come sept 1st.

If Danny goes then we may well sign more than one striker.
Remember he is in the last year of his contract and there is a risk of him going for nothing next summer.

Hope so, although even he couldn't ruin liverpool's squad much more..... ;D

Chelsea have ended their search for a right-back with the signing of Cesar Azpilicueta from Marseille.

Azpilicueta, 22, fills the gap in Chelsea's squad created by the decision to release Jose Bosingwa earlier this summer.

Marseille have confirmed the transfer on their official website, but there are no details as to the transfer fee involved or the length of contract he has signed. Reports this week suggested the fee is in the region of £7 million.

The defender played for Spain at London 2012 - where they surprisingly exited at the group stage - after missing out on selection for Euro 2012.

He made 41 appearances for Marseille last season, including eight in the Champions League, and scored one goal.

Prior to joining Marseille, he was a regular at Osasuna for three seasons, shifting into the backline after beginning life as a midfielder.

His arrival continues Chelsea's summer spending spree, with Victor Moses and another striker expected to also make the move to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window slams shut.

Dear Eds, can I make a suggestion that may make your lives and the regular users of this site lives easier. Why don't you have a static section of this site that you update as and when it is needed. So when we are in talks with a club about a player you put this info in a place that is easy to find and update as and when the status of that deal changes. This would surely stop repetive questions. It would also mean people like me wouldn't have to wade through acres of nonsense in the fruitless search of latest news, which is what puts people off using the search function. {Ed002's Note - We have tried it and it did not work. It does not stop the repeat questions.}

Then the users of this site must be dense.

Nah, it would be one of them, can't see the both of them joining. However, with either of them we would be un playable.

Big question is woud you be happy with £30 mill for Luiz?
Having seen he play on many many occassions I cant argue with his skills but he isnt a top top quality central defender. For me GC, JT and BI are ahead of him. I have always thought it would be worth giving him a go as a holding midfielder but that doest seem to be on the agenda.
So take the £30 mill(if indeed such an offer is on the table) buy a first choice right back and take a chance on one of the youngsters for 4th back up at CD. For once make a good profit on a player.
Thoughts

40 mil and I would consider but he is a great defender and is only going to become better.

Best defender in the PL by 2014

Id take it with out a doubt he to rash!

I would definitely sell him for that amount and then spend that cash on hummels or another young but elite defender

Hi ed apart from the 3 forwards spoken of hulk cavani and shurrie , is there any others were looking at as all three of these seen to have complications , and you have said yourself we all know we need another striker .
