Ed in repsponse to your post below regarding Moutinho or Ganso, with Ganso reluctant to come to England, does that leave the only option after Modric as Moutinho? {Ed002's Note - Not at all. I was only asked about those players. Folks are getting too tied in to a mentality of "playmaker", "winger", "attacking midfielder" etc.. Try and get in to the mindset of a constantly evolving formation adapting to the needs of the game. We have yet to see the best of Ramires either and I hope he will surprise folks this year. I don't know if any of his goals are available on YouTube but for what is claimed to be a spoiling midfielder, he has scored many a goal arriving late in to the penalty area. Mata can supply the missing balls to Torres and the like, but to me keeping Ramires fit will make a real big difference.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I agree with the ed on this one, you only need to look as far back as the game against man city to see what ramires is capable of and there is still more to come from what i saw of him at benfica.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some analysis from ED002 Refreshing and correct in my eyes. Ramires look he could be part of our 'backbone' in the future; a great player, finally properly acclimatising to the league and playing well. Ray Wilkins said it normally takes a year to 18 months before you see the best of players coming in to the PL, and after 6 months Ramires is coming in to his own. With the addition of Mata and some of the other players coming in, we're slowly building a squad of effective, versatile players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt agree with you more, i think ramires started showing his ability towards the end of the season, i believe we could perhaps get one more player and be fine for the season, but ramires is a big big player for the season as long as he is fit and keeps his discipline

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i agree bout ramires but he needs to beleive in himself more and show personality as he always passes to someone straight instead of doing sumthing himself u see he gets better as games go on because gets more confident

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm glad to see you have faith in Ramires Ed002 because for me, he has the most potential. He has so many vital tackles and runs more than anybody on the team. His creativity/vision and passing can only get better. My only complaint is that he passes the ball out wide too much when he should just go inside with it because going wide allows the defense more time to get back and get guys in the box. Ramires clearly has the most potential of our young guns.

Looks like Chelsea are really clearing house. Malouda, Benayoun, Alex, Rajkovic, Anelka, Kalou. Lets hope we bring in some players to replace them. {Ed002's Note - Have you missed what has been going on? Lukaku, Romeu, Mata, bids for several players in hand, Lucas arriving in January.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Ed Is that the Lucas which is a Brazilian wonderkid? {Ed018's Note - Its Lucas Piazon, there is another Lucas that is highly rated as well}

ED,
Can't you make the Chelsea scouts convinced to get Eden Hazard?

It might seem quite annoying.
But, I just mean to say, how much desperate we fans are to see Hazard at Bridge, OR better say, not to see him with the Gunners.

We just can't miss in getting such a talent, just 20 years of age.

wow.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Really, really did I just really read this I mean wow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yes If we just keep posting stuff like this we will get whoever we want to the bridge since its a fact that the person behind Ed002 is Roman Abramovich :)) {Ed002's Note - I hate being Roman's bitch, but yeah, it's true.}

Hey Ed's by the way great job over the summer. I've always thought that Chelsea would eventually sign Modric, but now I am doubting that we will him. I don't think a younger player like Ganso can solve the creativity problems, so I think our best option is Moutinho (sorry if incorrectly spelt). Would you prefer Moutinho or Modric? And if possible who is the more likely player to arrive? Personally I think I would prefer Moutinho because he's younger and has links with AVB. Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Out of Moutinho and Modric my preference would be for Moutinho. Out of Moutinho and Ganso my preference would be for Ganso though.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Ganso is the man we need, vision for a pass is amazing.
Moutino a bit light weight for the prem

Have heard that chelsea have had bid accepted for vdw by ajax if this is the case where does this leave ivanovic who I think is one of our best defenders. {Ed002's Note - Ivanovic is a centre back and not a right back. He has only ever really provided cover in that position and he is uncomfortable doing so on a regular basis. Keep in mind that one or two players will be leaving as well. The problem with long term target van der Wiel is that he wants to stay at Ajax one more year and I suspect that he will. Ajax have accepted several offers for the player over the past year, but he does not seem keen to move.}

Eds why would we want to replace zirkhov when he never played stupid waste of money and I thought avb was smart if he was to play instead of that waste of space malouda that's fine but to replace some one who s job was to replace is daft which ever way you slice it as we lack a playmaker passer in the middle if we don't sign 1 sorry 2 say but there's always next season as far as winning anything cum on shape up n wake up {Ed002's Note - I assume that you are not a Chelsea supporter, but Chelsea like many other teams are made up of a squad of players providing various options. I suggest you make a little flag saying "AVB Out" and take it to the next match as clearly you will never be satisfied. Mata has been bought in to provide various options and the club has made a lot of efforts to improve an ageing squad. If not, perhaps you could start a Facebook page extolling the dislike you have for certain Chelsea players and the manager. I understand Twitter works well for such campaigns. I have tried and clearly failed to explain what is happening.}

Daily mail are reporting that Juventus have bid £5m for florent malouda, and that the bid is likely to be accepted. Any truth in this Ed? {Ed002's Note - Yes, we knew at the very start of the window and it was discussed that Malouda would likely be leaving. It was expected that he would return to France but I don't think there were any offers that suited him. I am not sure that he will be leaving for certain yet, as it is not clear if he wants to move to Turin. I think he would perhaps like to end his playing days with one year in Dijon - and that is perhaps one contract away from being an option, so perhaps a three year deal with Juventus would suit him best. We will see.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed, so if Malouda leaves are we in the market for a replacement? I would think maybe Kakuta could get a few games as a result and alternate with Mata. {Ed002's Note - Maybe Periera could fill in for Malouda? There is a bit of an issue at the moment with Kakuta. The loan deal with LOSC does not suit the player and a team is being sought in England for him. It needs figuring out over the next couple of days. His preference is for the right not the left in any case.}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Aug 2011 13:25:24
ED,
With A. Cole and V. Aanholt on left back and now J. Mata and F. Molouda on the left wing, what is AVB is thinking of? Bidding for Perreira (if).

We don't even have a specialized player on the right wing up front.
Even not being the player for that position, Sturridge is supposed to play on the right and now rumours coming about his departure as well.

Lampard is not in the form he used to be (with the number of goals, even more than the striker sometimes).

Thus we are lagging the scores, don't have a creative support for Torres and already with a number of players, again looking for one on the left, A. Perreira.

Where is Chelsea marching towards and what does AVB has on mind.

No-one can enter into one's mind, and you too, ED, analyzing the happenings and searching for facts and details.

Great job at this site though. {Ed002's Note - Mata can play across midfield. If anyone misses out it will be Bertrand. Just accept Pereira as a replacement for Zhirkov. Sturridge is not leaving but if he does he will eb replaced. I won't ask you to have faith.}

Believable10 Unbelievable1

ED,
Talking of Zhirkov, he was either playing in place of Cole or Malouda.
But, already with some distinct players for those positions where is Perreira supposed to play?
What is your opinion on this transfer? Do we require this? or NOT?? {Ed002's Note - He will play on the left toward the front. Many of the fans of course are completely hopeless. They complain about lack of pace and the club look to add someone who gives pace and then they still bleat about it. So what if he didn't join and either of the two 30 some odd year olds get injured or suspended. And what if Malouda were to leave - given that he was told he could two months ago?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont see what the big deal with people is. Perreira is a decent player. He can play anywhere on the left side and also at right back. I for one would look forwrd to him joining the club. I hope this be our last signing. Ed do you think we will bring in a creative midfield player other than Mata? Thanks :)

-That Badger- {Ed002's Note - I suspect there are one or two signings still to come. I am sure it will become clear that a CB or two are still being considered. If the club cannot get the players they want, I must stress that they will not simply buy for the sake of it. Fernando is now off the list seemingly as his price is too high.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for reply ed. Thats a pity about Fernando, he looked an excellent talent. Personally i would like Moutinho and Perreira to come in and a CB if Alex leaves. Thanks
-That Badger- {Ed002's Note - I think if Fernando had been available that he and Ramires could have made it very difficult for other teams to play through the midfield - and this was always something AVB was looking to do tactically - long before becoming Chelsea manager. In a way, I would like Chel;sea still to make another push for the player, but the feeling is today that it is off the agenda.}

Agree0 Disagree0

IF Sturridge were to leave, who would you think would be a good replacement? They might not even replace him because it seems it would just be a season long loan, but just wondering.

Just saw on Ryan Bertrands Twitter account that he is not best pleased with our apparent bid for Perreira " Talent only flourishes with opportunity. ed002, do chelsea still maintain an interest in fernando and is there a chance that we move for him in this window? {Ed002's Note - Yes there is an interest. There may well be a move for him. Nothing seems certain right now. I am aware that there are some discussions due tomorrow and I expect a couple of players to leave and perhaps the spending is not complete. However, I will stress again that the club will not spend just for the sake of it.}

Ed, I see that you wrote earlier about no news regarding Modric, would this mean that the Daily Mail "Exclusive" is utter rubbish as they have suggested that a straight cash £30m deal has been rejected, are they possibly holding out for Sturridge? Also sorry to busy you with questions but i keep seeing rumours regarding Dalgish wanting Sturridge at Liverpool, I thought AVB said Sturridge was integral to his plans this season? Any insight you can add is greatly appreciated. Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what their exclusive is, sorry. I also don't know what you have read. I have no knowledge of any dealings for Modric. There is nothing to say on Sturridge that has not been said repeatedly already. He will stay at Chelsea unless he requests a transfer - in which case the club will let him leave.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Ed002: with all due respect - there is no Zhirkov position. He was an unneccesary player when we bought him. It's good we sold him and i hope we can reinvest into right back position. But we are going the same path and noone over here understands that. Every Chelsea fan can identified our weaknesses and they are all the same, but we are bidding again for where we are perfectly settled for now and the future. {Ed002's Note - I don't understand what you mean "there is no Zhirkov position". Players are bought for teh squad. AVB is looking to replace Zhirkov.}

Hi, I've got a really strong feeling that Ashley Cole will be leaving us this season. Do we not have sufficient cover for his position already? Got a feeling this Porto wingback were after, isn't just for cover. Any comments Ed? RUSS {Ed002's Note - None at all.}

I get the feeling that Ed is feeling justified here, considering the Ashley Cole leaving thing was a sarcastic comment he made, poor Ed.
