Chelsea have reportedly made contact with German club Bayer Leverkrusen over the possible transfer of 23 year old Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal. Vidal can play anywhere in defense and as an attacking midfielder aswell. The deal is said to be worth 10mil. Any truth in this Ed?

So is it true Ed? {ed's note - it is unlikely he will move as he is about to sign an extended contract, but that could be purely to increase the fee Leverkusen receive, of course. Unlikely that Chelsea would be able to afford him in that case, especially as City have been sniffing round him lately.}

So they are interested in signing him though?

Ed - What do you think the chances of Chelsea signing Pastore are? Rumoured within the 35 mil price range, with Abramovich reportedly tightening the strings?

Hey Ed, are these the most realistic signings for Chelsea: Gregory Van der Wiel for defense, Armin Bacinovic or Bastian Schweinsteiger for midfield and Romelu Lukaku for attack? Give me your opinion. {ed's note - Van Der Wiel yes, Schweinsteiger I think will be priced out of reach, not sure on Bacinovic, I have not got any solid info on him and Chelsea but it is certainly possible. I do think Lukaku is an option, the perfect future replacement for Drogba.}

Forget about Bacinovic then, what about Banega for midfield and Suarez for attack? {ed's note - Banega looks likely to leave in January, unless injuries scupper it, he is not happy at Valencia, he would be a great buy. I am not sure about Suarez, he would cost a lot for a player unproven in a top league.}

So Ed, which striker in particular do you have in mind and Chelsea are strongly linked with?

{Editor's Note: The Lukaku rumour has legs. More will be expected of Daniel Sturridge soon otherwise he will be moved on. Borini, I think, will leave in the summer when his contract expires. I don't expect Chelsea to go after Banega, but Van Der Wiel is a target. Suarez, albeit talented, could spark a bidding war and could be seen as too much of a luxury player for most English clubs. Neymar has been a target but a bunch of baggage has come to the fore over the past couple of months. He was always too lightweight for my liking and Italy has to now be favourite. Ganso would be great - but may be priced out of the English market altogether (Manchester City aside). I expect Juventus to do some significant business in the summer and Benfica to perhaps pick up a couple of excellent future prospects on the cheap. Ajax is a serious contender for the signature of Lukaku as it will likely bring the best financial return for Anderlecht in the future, and they will take his brother on board with a focus on education above sport.}
