ED002 a Couple of questions for you

1) Napoli's owner has said he wants £78 Million for Cavani is that also what they told Chelsea?

2) Did you find out if indeed we did bid for Lewondowski?

CFC1905 {Ed002's Note - Ignore what he says. I don't know any more obout Lewandowski.}

So, there seems to be some interesting stories floating around at the moment.
-Oscar is currently having a medical at Chelsea and will sign his contract after the olympics. The fee is £25,000,000 which has been solidly confirmed with Internacional. It seems the only thing left to do it sort out the transfer club to player.
- Willian has been denied a transfer to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk. He seems totally sold on the idea of moving to us but Shakhtar seem to be stubborn on denying him his move, which could be around £20,000,000. I am not sure what place he would get in the team though, with a lot of talk him being a rival to Oscar's position. But in in a 4-2-3-1 formation he would play on the right wing, displacing Mata. With him having such a good game last season that seems a bit harsh, also it would break the link between his fellow spaniard Torres. That link of which we saw in buckets in the last game of the Euros. To be honest, I don't think its a neccessary transfer and not one were in a rush to make.
-The Cavani deal looks even more distant now that Napoli have slapped a whopping £72,000,000 price tag on him. This is good news for Torres and personally I feel we need a cheaper replacement for Drogba. Perhaps, Ba? I think a massive signing like Cavani would yet again deny Torres being the main man, which I think is what he needs to get back on his feat.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Mata played central do you follow chelsea? mata is either left or centre, willian will play on the right.

Agree8 Disagree0

I dont know why some are so much intrested in torres than d club

Agree6 Disagree0

What if torres is injored

Agree3 Disagree0

The Napoli president exaggerates everything he says, I doubt he would turn down the £35-40 million we would offer, still believe it is a probability

Agree7 Disagree0

Whoever wrote this tosh needs to read the insightful response James13 gave to the post beginning "De Laurentiis (Napoli Chairman) has said: "Cavani is not for sale, but we could consider...." below. He has put this pointless debate to bed. If I hear this 'Torres will feel like he isn't the main man again' nonsense again I am going to puke. We need strikers. We are competing on four fronts with a the super cup and club world championships. Look at what you are reading and think before you next post. Torres's need to feel special doesn't override our need for a competitive strikeforce. Goodnight.

Agree5 Disagree2

To be honest I don't want to go to bed, knowing that Chelsea have spent £50,000,000 on a bench man, 2nd in line man.

Agree0 Disagree4

Mata on the right? When did that happen last year? I watched Chelsea a fair bit last year and not once do i remember Mata starting on the right...

Agree0 Disagree2

Mata never started on the rigth but he did play on the rigth side a lot, and expect our 4 players in the front to rotate a lot their positions in-game to be more dynamic

Agree2 Disagree0

Mate let torres feel d way he like we need someone dat can get us goals

Agree3 Disagree1

All this dont sign a striker to save torres being upset ,what if he doesnt score and
Weve got no back up? January is along time and chelsea is much bigger than 1 player

What's the rumour behind Llorente ed? {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City with rumours of interest from Manchester United as well. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player. There is a very good chance that he will move this summer.}

Oscar or Willian?..I prefer Oscar as a player but looks like Willian really wants to wear the blue of Chelsea more then Oscar

Believable14 Unbelievable8

There is nothing init.... Oscar look class ... William is s*** lol

Agree9 Disagree3

Willian or Oscar hmmmm definitely not willian

Agree5 Disagree2

I really, really want to wear the blue of Chelsea...pick me instead of Oscar...oh I so really want to play for Chelsea! It doesn't matter that he is a much, much, much, much (I can't overstate much enough) better player than me! I want to wear the blue of Chelsea more so you must want me more than him, don't you?

Surewould

Agree0 Disagree3

How can you say willies wants to wear the shirt more than Oscar
Oscar as got more things on his mind with the olimpic's
And how do you know it's his choice not to sign until after the olimpic's it might be the clubs
People like you think it's just a case of we want you sign
Get away from fantasy football and join the real world

Agree4 Disagree1

Eh i'd pick oscar over kalou anyday, he's cheaper and more versatile and lets be honest he's not half bad lookin lad either ;) .... oh sorry did i say kalou meant willian my bad :P

Agree0 Disagree4

Well actually I'm studying football management son,so take a jog and in fantasy football there are no worries of team morale..if you have a players that wants to be at the club he will not be selfish and thus be a good influence on the others like someone called Roberto di Matteo as manager..lets face it tactically he isn't the best bt its his desire to be at the club that makes him so successful..

Agree1 Disagree7

Oscar not signing till after olympics shows he has a winning mentality,,and very focused something we want at Chelsea!

Agree2 Disagree1

Pick another course of study unless by "studying football management" you mean studiously playing FM2012 in which case keep it up. Desire? Every Tom, Dick and Harry journeyman footballer has the "desire" to play at a top club so we sign them all? You're mistaking amateur psychology for football management.

Can i ask why lukaku is being pushed away? He is force to be reckoned with, and is a raw talent... I personally see him becoming one of the worlds best so instead of sending the £18m teen away get our moneys worth and utilise his talent {Ed002's Note - You hit it with "raw talent".}

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Lukaku could become a very good player
You can not take the risk to rely on him just yet
The best for him and the club is to go on loan to a pl club and prove not only to the club but to himself that he can do a good job and score goals.
Remember he's only 19 and so got time on his side

I really hope we sign Hulk. If you think about the intensity and pace and strength and aggression and relentlessness of the premier league a perfect symbol of it is Micah Richards. Hulk breezed past Richards like he wasn't there during Great Britain v Brazil on Friday. He would be a perfectly balanced addition to what we have already purchased in attacking areas. You need a physical presense in the premier league. The beauty of Hulk is that despite his brutish strength and pace he has touch and vision and class and can provide as well as score. The perfect right sided option of our supporting 3. Please close the deal Roman! - James13

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Ye, the only problem is, he's not worth £40mil!!!

Agree4 Disagree3

I think that he is worth £40 million to be honest. A strong, quick and talented player, he would fit straight in and would only help our chances of winning back the EPL.

Any interest in Oscar of Internacional? According to the Telegraph, AVB wants him to replace Modric.

Why was it placed in the dodgy rumours section Ed! {Ed002's Note - I have no idea.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Maybe because it relates more to Tottenham than Chelsea, and what chance do Tottenham really have of signing Oscar over us?

Devon.

I was inquiring about Chelsea's interest so it relates to Chelsea.

Has Lukaku gone on loan to Fulham for the whole of next season? Is there any truth in this ED? {Ed002's Note - He has not gone on loan yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Hi edd I was just wondering what clubs have enquired about taking lukaku on loan?
Thanks in advance

Blue con {Ed002's Note - Nothing is decided but Fulham is the most likely destination. He should stay in England.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED, With Lukaku likely to go on loan is pretty certain that we'll sign another striker? Thanks {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Lukaku, but Chelsea are indeed looking for another striker.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Romeu go to bolton to be as sucesseful as sturridge and wilshire, lukaku to go to fulham as lukaku is to good for fulham

Anyway lukaku has bin loaned 2 fulham so end of story

havent posted in a while as i tend to stay away when the transfer window is open.
Although the goal hazard scored was helped by the deflection, if you watch his run before he shoots he is constantly looking up towards the box for a cross or pass. I think this will be what keeps him in the team and what will keep sturridge out.
jono

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Dont think there was much competition between Hazard and Sturridge anyway

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree with the last post. Hazard will stay in the team ahead of Sturridge because he is simply the better player.

Ads

Agree2 Disagree0

Hazard's gonna be playing centre attacking mid or left wing this season, whereas Sturridge is gonna be used as a striker (possibly occasionally on the right too), so Hazard's form has nothing to do with whether Sturridge will be played or not

If the transfer of Oscar comes off then do we need the signing of Hulk, or any other right winger? For years the lack of width and creativity has been a source of concern for me, no doubt the club have dealt with our creative problems in the past year - Mata, Hazard, Marin, De Bruyne, Paizon and dare I say Oscar. This group contains skill, passing, goals etc. - everything you'd want from an attacking midfield group...but...if you asked them which position they would want to play in a 4-2-3-1 formation then nearly, if not, all of them would point to the central position in the three. Which brings us back to an apparent lack of width and a potential need for a right winger.

But, as Bobby D said, the times they are a changing! When you look at Barcelona, Spain, Germany and that amazing u23 Brazil team all of them play a 4-2-3-1 formation to great success and none of them play with stereotypical wingers. Their midfield three's don't necessarily hug the chalk and bombard the opposition box with crosses, they're all passers of the ball who yes can beat players with skill too but ultimately its the passing and movement of the players that makes these teams great.

Like it or not it's the football of teams such as the aforementioned ones that Chelsea aspires to play; from what I can tell we are very close to already having all the players required for it.

So, answering my own rhetorical question, no we don't need Hulk or any other right winger - and my concerns about a lack of width are gone.

Surewould

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Im sorry but the premier league u need wingers. thats proven.

Agree2 Disagree0

Spot on surewould.

We won the league in 2010 with no natural wingers? The fact that the 3 behind Torres can rotate easily is a credit to there quality. Who were man city's wingers last year when they won the league? Johnson? Didn't play.
No they won it by fantastic passing and great movement and top quality strikers. We need another top quality striker (cavani) and we will be up there with City

Rich

Agree2 Disagree0

Exactly! City proved you don't need wingers!

ED with oscar thats 16 midfielders, who's on there way out? Eden Hazard Florent Malouda Frank Lampard Gael Kakuta ohn Obi Mikel Josh McEachran Juan Mata Lucas Piazon Marko Marin Michael Essien Oriol Romeu Ramires Raul Meireles Yossi Benayoun Kevin de Bruyne {Ed002's Note - Malouda, Meireles and Benayoun could all leave. There is a chance that Essien may leave and Kakuta will either stay or be sold - no loan. There are a number of clubs interested in taking De Bruyne on loan. McEachran may go on loan.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Playing the 4-2-3-1 formation which we most prob will we need 5 midfield on the pitch 2 holding 3 attacking with the players ed mentioned leaving that would leave in the region of 9 players piazon wont be a first teamer other that maybe playing cup games so that is 8 players fighting for 5 places i think that is more than enough. its going to be extremly hard to choose that 5 tho. mine would be
rami - lamps
oscar - mata - hazard
or
romeu - lamps
rami - mata - hazard
god its so hard i dont want to drop rami i believe this will be a bit part year for lamps aswell. marin will prob be a sub most of the time or swaping with the 3 AM's

Agree0 Disagree1

The 2 - lamps, ramires mikel, romeu, essien, mceachran, piazon, oscar, de bruyne, benayoun, meirelles can all play their. benayoun, meirelles & esdien may leave. debruyne, piazon & mceachran my be loaned or little time played. but dont forget its not just for this season buying players its the future aswell. as we all know romeu could go back to barca, possibly lamps last season, & i still aint convinced with mikel. so next year our midfield could be very short! and the 2 in the pivot doesnt mean they are holding mids, u know against someone like wigan we could play them 2 as ramires & oscar, one the deep lying play maker the othe box to box(the engine/warrior)

with the wingers and number 10 places. we have mata, marin, hazard, malouda, piazon, de bruyne, kakuta, oscar?. mata, hazard will be starters. marin i personally feel will be bargain of the summer, oscar can play the same position. so these 4 will all swap rotate game to game and during the games. piazon may get a few run outs, de bruyne probably loaned. kakuta.. well hes got it, the skill the passing he needs a chance to play with the 1st team. understand how they play. he aint a bad back up for a winger is he? malouda will probably leave.

so all in all with a few departures in a few central players, a couple of loans, & malouda gone it works out about right. but what about the season after? romeu may go back, lamps out of contract, essien, mikel is as bad as most of lasrt year. so signing these players is being ready by the board. not just buying for the sake of it. BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

I know that oscar can play on the wing, but from what ive seen of him he is better suited to playing in a lampard type role and not as a winger. He is not naturally inclined to take and round players, more settled on the ball and great vision.
I think he was bought to cover/compete with lamps and since they want to offload meireles.

U boys agree?

hi ed,

i see everyone with their opinion on who chelsea's starting xi will be and have seen many saying chelsea don't need anymore midfield players. however i struggle to see (if they don't get oscar) who plays the right side. i have torres with hazard, mata behind him (not sure who plays right) with lampard and ramires in defensive midfield, cole, terry, luiz and azpilicueta. i still feel we need a moura, hulk or maybe even walcott to play right side i am interested to see who you think starting xi will be?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

It's difficult to predict a starting XI as a) the treansfer window hasn't closed and b) we are building a squad to offer different options for different games. Given the current squad, if RDM plays his favoured formation, Ramires will play on the right. Alternatively, Marin can play on either side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses would be the best option

Agree0 Disagree1

Just because two play in the pivot doesnt mean they are defensive

Agree1 Disagree0

Cech
azpilicueta - terry - luiz - cole
lamps - romeu
rami - mata - hazard
torres
azpilicueta swapping with ivanovic especially for big games where ivan will be tight and strong while ceasar is coming up to Pl pace.
terry swapping with cahill, i see cahill as a perfect replacement for terry as much as i would like terry playing every game it aint going to happen.
cole / bertrand ryan is ready to replace cole now but cole can still do it.
lamps - romeu could swap with any of mikel, essien, josh if he stays even rami he can play that role dont care what any one says.
mata - rami- hazard would just float across that front line no fixed postion thats why we will get oscar as they will keep swaping like they did against seattle marin can replace either 3.
torres / i would keep lukaku and sturidge and use them mainly in cup games and last 20 mins or to rest torres if sturidge wants to leave let him go and get moses.
so we dont need to waste money on a right winger like hulk, moura

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like most ppl just want to play the players that cost the most instead of having Marin who looks like he is could be buy of the transfer window. I think Marin will be a big part of our team this season.

hey ed any interest in illicic from palermo ? {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic but Inter are favourites if he does come up for sale this summer, which I doubt. England seems a unlikely destination although Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the fairly recent past.}
