Hey ed, I haven't heard much of Kakuta and if AVB has any plans for him. Have you heard anything or do you have any opinions based on his performances last term and this summer? {Ed002's Note - Kakuta is away on international duty at the U20 world cup which beings at the end of the month.}

ed002 given Villas-Baos recent comments on the striker situation (and i know you have mentioned not too read too much into it) is it more likely that he will be lookin to offload anelka or kalou or possibly drogba ( which i hope and doubt not) before he enters the market looking for a striker as oppose to people jumping to conclusions that a striker will not be brought contrary to his comments I know you have previously stated that you expect anelka to move on .... thanks for your time huge fan of the site {Ed002's Note - I don't see it as being a sequence of events. Anelka will almost certainly leave. Drogba will decide what he wants to do. Kalou will leave if an offer comes in - a few months ago Galatasary were interested and last year Arsenal were interested.}

I don't think we should sell kalou, at least not to arsenal especially as they have signed gervinho. {Ed002's Note - The interest was a year ago and Gervinho is very much a right winger. If Kalou could be somehow taught to release the ball before he and it are in among the crowd, that would help.}

Bite your tongue If I won the lottery the first thing I'd do is buy out kalous contract and send him on the red eye back home.

ED002 aguero's agent reguera has said athletic have accepted 3 bids for the player man city juventus and an unamed english side but not tottenham whom may this be? {Ed002's Note - It is irrelevant who it is, but may well be Chelsea, as the critical thing will be to agree a package for the player - and this has been the stumbling block. If it were a simple case of agreeing a fee with Atletico Madrid then everyone would do it right away.}

ed r we planning on buying someone for the rw position as thats the position we have no one naturally for and were not linked with any {Ed002's Note - I imagine Kakuta or Sturridge will be used there. If Anelka goes then possible someone will be added.}

Ed, I agree with you 100% that modric is completely unreasonable for anything above £25m. I see him as an upgrade over yossi benayoun. A lot of people will bash me for this but they have similar styles and anyone who has watched the preseason games will tell you that yossi has been the best so far. To me I just don't think at 25 years old he justifies some of the money being discussed. Oh well. Thanks always

Not that this ain't logical, just sad to see others improve and us regress... {Ed002's Note - I would certainly expect Anelka to leave and Drogba will decide himself. Chelsea will not want him to leave, but he may decide the time is right.}

This crop of players is beyond their best years, while at their best they could only win one league title. I just can't understand how come we are not in a rush. Anyone would be an upgrade over Malouda on the left, while our right side if hraded by Malouda or Kalou is nonexistant. How come we haven't lodged a formal bid for Mata, who is available? Why aren't we after Hazard? And since Sanchez is out of reach and so is Neymar, who do you know we are after to fill our wide positions?

1)what is d situation regarding mata?we were interested in him before, so will we try to sign him?
2)are we still in the race for aguero?
3)chel is preparing a 35m bid for modric?what are the chances of it gettin accepted?
4)is chel still in the race for pastore?
5)AVB in his latest interview praised lukaku but did not expressed his need for an another striker, does that mean we are not signing him?
6)finally, wanna know just your thoughts, watching yesterday's match who shud be the perfect signing acc to u?

BW {Ed002's Note - (1) Perhaps a slim chance. There is certainly interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, general interest is also being shown by Chelsea Manchester United and Manchester City. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and Arsenal appear to be preparing an offer themselves. It would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool or Manchester United could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join either. In order to get the best deal, Valencia wanted to wait (a) to see if Barcelona show an interest; (b) until after the Under 21 Championships where he could well put in a very good performance. A player exchange for David Villa when Barcelona sign Alexis Sanchez is also not out of the question in my view. (2) Manchester City are looking to offer the player a weekly salary that no other team could match. Chelsea have made their interest known previously and put together a package that was unaaceptable to the player. It is hard to see anything chnaging unless the player turns down Manchester City. I got trashed here for suggesting that Manchester City would make a bid regardless of what happens to Tevez so I have less than zero interest in discussing Aguero anymore due to the abuse I will recieve. (3) I don't know of a £35M bid and if they are it strikes me as way too much for the player. (4) It is not really a race for Pastore. Chelsea made a bid and it remains on the table. (5) It is futile in asking me to explain anything said in an interview - I have tried to explain that you should not hang off every word you hear or believe everthing you read on the internet. (6) I did not watch yesterday's match, sorry.}

Just been watching SSN, their top story.....From Tottenham, 35m is not enough for Modric??? Wasn't aware we had gone back with another bid. As much as i rate him, are we wasting our breath.
They obviously not going to sell him even if rumoured he submits another transfer request.

What a joke this is turning to. Here we have the club biding for Lukaku and the manager comes out and says we don't need any more strikers.

Why do you believe this, if i were the manager this is the first thing i would say especially as all the strikers at the club are not doing great atm. Publically stating that you are unhappy with your striker options would be AVB in an awefull postion, the players would become harder to deal with, and confidence would drop. All AVB is doing is trying not to dent the confidence of his players.

What about the confidence of players coming in? What if you were in Lukaku's position? If I were AVB I would be more diplomatic and say that there is always room for improvement.

If AvB had said we need strikers Lukaku's price would suddenly have doubled
