Ed would you prefer modric or moutinho ?? Cheers

BLUEBLOOD {Ed002's Note - Moutinho.}

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I agree with Ed, Moutinho is a better player.
Scotty.

Do you think the board see's things this way?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the board have chosen Modric but if he plays against hearts on Thursday I would expect moutinho.

Hi ed. It pains me to say it but after tonights performance I can't see anything other than a MUFC title. I know it's only two games in but Chelsea have lacked some guile. {Ed018's Note - maybe, they are favored to win the league but yea there's a long way to go.}

Believable8 Unbelievable7

It's a bit early to be saying that, altough, they do look good but they and many other teams have concluded their buying, we haven't.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want to see that happening again and again.
but, sorrily can't help it out.
MAN U are either coming from behind or scoring on the second half.
I wonder, what does Ferguson have to do on this?

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we not start last season looking like we were going to destroy the league? There is a long way to go and anything can happen

Has Rajkovic signed for Hamburg for £3m? Will they have the same work permit problems that we had or are there different laws in Germany? Also how comes the fee was so cheap even thou I guess he hasn't been able to show his potential at Chelsea. With the likely departure of Alex to Juventus for a reported £7m we will need to reinforce the defence and ive seen Gary Cahills name being mentioned. DO you no if there's any interest? If we can get him for £15m with the sales of those 2 players he's cost us £5m and saved us wages so i see this as a good deal. Thoughts Ed?

Thanks

PB {Ed002's Note - There are different permit issues in each country - he will not have a problem in Germany. There may be interest in a centre back, but it may not be Cahill - there is nothing to say at present and nothing certain with Alex. I wonder if Subotic may be revisited.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I just think the history of the prem and current shows a successful team as a british centre back. Ars - Adams and Keown, Man U - Rio Ferdinand, Liver - Jamie Carragher, Man City - Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards. The british have always had strong, powerful centre backs. We have Terry atm and I think Cahill could do a really good job for us. Are Dortmund willing to sell Subotic?

PB {Ed002's Note - Subotic has always been a target for next season.}

I think spurs are watching drogba contract talks. If drogba fails to agree on terms set by board, they would consider using him as a bait in modric deal. Spurs are lacking strikers and drogba would be an ideal pairing with edabayor. this could also lower valuation of modric. Wat u guys think.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

You see, theoretically it would only be possible if Drogba was willing to say farewell to CL, while staying in London, but somewhat halving his current salary at Spurs wage structure. I doubt it. All in all staying at Chelsea is his best option IMO. But with Drogs - you never know. I think he had his fair share of chances to be playing elsewhere, but has stayed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont see Drogs going anywhere this season but if he did it would be Italy or Marseille.
Why would he go to the Spuds?

Is there a reason we are not going for sneijder instead of Modric.Spurs want 15m more than what he's worth 35m.I think paying this amount for someone like sneijder would be better for us,as he has more experience and is a better player.Other than that I am very happy with our additions this year.Is there any way Alex will stay. {Ed002's Note -

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Have you seen the guys wage demands? The deal wont happen and i dont blame Chelsea for staying well clear

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijders wages are considerably more than Modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wont start the wage talk, or the demands, but at current time Modric makes a cool 40.000 which is 20.000 NET, While Sneijder is pocketing 200.000 euro, at 160.000 NET.

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric offers something slightly different to sneijder

I know the answer is going to be no but:
Ed, is there any truth to a rumour from France which is apparently 18-22 million and Drogda for Van Persie? Didier looks past his prime now and RVP works so hard and would be perfect partner for Torres because think of how many chances he would make? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Hi Ed. You have mentioned the likes of Alex, Benayoun and Anelka maybe leaving, Benayoun has been linked with Tottenham and Alex with Juve, who are the clubs interested in Anelka?

PS i think a lot of people who use this site have a very naive concept of the transfer process (me being one of them) probably due to champ manager. And we presume that you like a player, you bid for them and then agree personal terms etc and Bob's your uncle, the player is yours. Can you enlighten us as to how it actually works when you get the chance? {Ed002's Note - I don't have time to explain the process but Anelka has options in France with PSG, Russia and elsewhere.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - A quick summary: Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent and possibly even the player. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. So many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.}

i just wanted to know how you would feel if drogba went to the spuds or arsenal

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Spurs won't be willing to match his wages, and Wenger will never buy a 33 year old.

in reality ED what our our chances of getting
1 modric
2 debruyn
3 neymar
4 gadso
i understand if you would be totally wrong just trying to hope i guess {Ed002's Note - I guess you don't know how annoying it is form me to be asked the same questions repeatedly. (1) I know nothing of any deal for Modric. (2) If he is fit enough to pass a medical within the next week he will likely join - if not, perhaps next year. (3) The situation is unchanged - there are many issues to address. (4) Ganso does not want to move to England but his desire to move to AC Milan is not going to be achieved this year. PSG and Anzhi have had bids rejected. I suspect he will stay in Brazil, but Santos may need to sell for financial reasons.}

This "editor" is so bloody arrogant. Who is he? He knows bugger all. Respond to people questions. Always get the feeling you are doing us a favour visiting your average site. {Ed002's Note - It is a pity that you did not sign your posts then everyone could thank you for all duplicate posts now being deleted. The editors volunteer their time for free and we have to contend with enormous amounts of abuse, duplicate messages and repeat questions and then an obnoxious anonymous piece of detritus like you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who ever said the editor is arrogant and then excuses him of knowing bugger all is a complete idiot. Take a look at the site...would you have time to answer the same question over and over again or people asking them if a random player they thought was good on Football Manager will be joining Chelsea. You need to look at what you wrote you complete fool. The editors provide us with information that otherwise we would not know e.g. Neymar situation, Ganso De Bruyn and them telling us about the Mata deal on friday/saturday.

ED,
Why is Kalou so much safe in terms of transfer. AVB knows it was him who had a number problems and the manager had to substitute him quite before the interval.

A number of miss-passes, lazy play, selfish post attempts, sluggish dribbling etc.

The club doesn't have anything to get of him and still, he is quite safe.

We are selling Benayoun and keeping Kalou, even Anelka is far better than Kalou, what the fans suppose.

thanks. {Ed002's Note - I don't understand the question - if you mean safe from leaving, then he is not.}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Yes, you got it right ED.
so, if he is not safe, he shouldn't be and if he is not sold, he should never get the chance to play.
with Malouda and now Mata, Kalou on the left wing seems really annoying.
tnaks ED, for the reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalou in my opinion is not good enough, yet succesive managers have played him, is it a case no teams are intrested? {Ed002's Note - No, there was a firm bid from Galatasary last year and there have been several enquiries.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth did we not accept the bid?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because when it comes to transfers we seem to have ppl making decisions who havn't got a clue with what they are doing. Selling Scott Sinclair last season to Swansea and keeping Kalou is just beyond me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think that is a great answer a few young one gone as not given the chance and believe sinclair was the best of the bunch
as for Kalouless he was shocking the weekend lets chuck him into a deal that would benefit us as dead wood he is at present and i would hate to see him playing out wide again i would rather have sturridge anyday with mata on the other wing

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalou in my mind is a good squad player, he can do well when coming off the bench plus he doesnt earn a huge amounts and he doesnt moan about being a sub, i think he gets a bad rep when he actually does a good job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalou as not progressed at all , enough is enough .

Chelsea wud sell alex to juve. Then go for gary cahill in a deal involving cash kalou for full ownership a young gun on a loan. A win win situation.

then chelsea would offer cash youssi to spurs. If it is rejected, then the same option for moutinhio. The modric deal, if happens, could go to the wire as spurs are just testing chelsea. When nasri can play in uncertainty, alex can play, why shud not modric. spurs saving him as they fear an injury could mean a disaster.

Mata would play on left and give malouda a fight for place. Sturridge on right. Although both wingers would swap positions constantly in we play 433.

De bruyne also coming soon.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

If it all were true. Would be amazing transfer window for Chelsea.

rajkovic has left Chelsea to join Hamburg, who paid €3M to acquire him. Rajkovic has signed a four-year contract.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

ED002: Can you confirm it? Did we not get a permit? If he has left indeed and Alex is leaving - we must be after a central defender, then? Won' we? {Ed002's Note - Yes he is leaving. Alex is probably leaving. There may be interest in a CB but have you forgotten Luiz joined in January and I suspect that Oriol Romeu will provide cover.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How could i. I might have missed Zhirkov to ever wear a blue, but not David Luiz. No, - my point is that both JT and Ivanovic have a hstory of injuries. And when it has hit us last year it was too costly not to go after David Luiz. I think having 4 central defenders is what every club does. So if Rajkovic is gone and noone is purchsed then maybe Kalas is being meant to be our 4 CB? {Ed002's Note - Seemingly you missed the move for Kalas - he has gone on loan to Vitesse Arnheim. They may well be looking at a CB and as I suggested it may be Cahill.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, it's Monday and the moves come swift, just read and returned to comment on Kalas and found your answer here. Thanks. Well - if that is Cahill - i would be very much impressed by the move. Fantastic aerial ability, decent pace, perfect age, home grown. All that. If the price ain't dumb - would be perfect. Do you reckon great personal relationship between Coyle and AVB would help here? {Ed002's Note - You mean like if they were lovers?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is there any kind of buy-back clause in this deal to Hamburg? {Ed002's Note - No idea - but I doubt it. There could be a sell on clause.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Good one Ed002. Well, if they were lovers it could actually turn sour. I meant they got the badges together in Scotland, know each other well, have stated in interviews of mutual respect, etc. Generally my question was rather do managers influence the transfers and personal relationship between some of them matter. Like when Bruce gets all the outcasts from Sir Alex :) {Ed002's Note - No, I would not rely on it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard AVB isn't into older men anyways, so Coyle hasn't a chance.

Non Home-grown players - Cech, Hilario, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, David Luiz, Mikel, Ramires, Malouda, Mata, Kalou, Drogba, Torres. (13 total) Alex, Benayoun, Anelka possibly leaving. (16 total)

Essien injured.

Radjkovic work permit pending.

Home-grown – Turnbull, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Sturridge, Bertrand. (total home and non home-grown – 22)

Under-21 – Van Aanholt, Oriol, McEachran, Kakuta, Lukaku.

There are no major issues at the moment; there are currently 16 available non home-grown players, 17 with Essien. It looks as if a couple of players at least will be moved on in this window which would then create space for Radjkovic if he gets his work permit through and a midfielder. We have 6 home grown players over the age of 21 (I’ve included Sturridge in that as he turns 22 in just over a week, and am pretty sure a player has to be 21 in January 2012 to be registered as under-21 this season, either way, not an issue) and the five players under-21 who can seriously be considered to be in the first team squad, although any player under 21 in the academy/reserves can be used. Bertrand and one or two of the youngsters will in all likelihood go out on loan.

Blue 25 {Ed002's Note - Thanks for this. It looks like Radjkovic will move to Hamburg on a permanent deal - he turned down a loan to Valenciennes. I expect Anelka, Benayoun and Alex will go, so there is plenty of latitude.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Bad move letting Anelka go, much better than Kalou. Alex wants to be first choice so let him go to Juventus. Still think we should hold onto Benayoun as he is a playmaker but I'm not the manager. If Rajkovic is going, then I would personally like to see us move for Rodwell as he can play centre back and defensive midfield, young and english.
Scotty.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats happening with Jacob Mellis,
pretty sure he will have to be included if we dont name all 8 hg players {Ed002's Note - I don't know where he is right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Jacob Mellis is only 20 this season so will not have to be included as Home grown, it looks as if he is going to stay with the reserves until January at least. Same goes with the Clifford brothers and Nate Chalobah. All reserve and academy players 21 or under will be eligible for selection without having to register them in the 25 man premier league squad, although I wouldn't expect to see too many of them in first team action unless there is an outbreak of plague at the bridge.

Blue 25

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, I don't know why I wrote Clifford brothers, Conor and Billy are not related.

Blue 25 {Ed002's Note - One Clifford has gone on loan to Peterborough (from memory).}

Ed002: Barca seem to have Affelay available this transfer window. Surely he will have even less opportunities with Sanchez in town. Have we ever expressed interest in him? He' young, looked good when called upon at Barca, should be available and inexpensive. Plus plays both wings and a 10. Your thoughts Ed? {Ed002's Note - I don't have any thoughts on Afellay. If he leaves it will be to Napoli or Juventus.}

Just wanted to know who is currently likely to miss out of the Chelsea squad of 25 now that mata is on his way (apart from essien,does lukaku count or is he below the required age?) {Ed002's Note - I have not looked at the squad but would be most surprised if the total number of players is an issue. Certainly there will be players leaving in any case. Someone should perhaps take the time to go through and list them for us. Players such as Lukaku do not need to be counted. Folks such as Alex, Benayoun and probably Anelka may well be gone by next week.}
