Hi ed. Keep up the good work. Do
You know how much we bid
For lukaku
And
If we should expect another bid for modric {Ed002's Note - The value of the Lukaku bid is tied in with perfoamce and appearnce based add ons and not worthy of discussion. I don't know if a further bid is planned for Modric.}

Ed, im sorry to bother you with this...but im curious to know what lukaku's number might be if he joins?
E.g: Modric probably 14, aguero 16, pastore 27 and so on
Could it possibly be
Bosingwa to 16 and lukaku 17? {Ed018's Note - how about 321. thats my guess because i have zero clue what any of these players number would be.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I'm going with -6.2

Absolutely brilliant post

Agree0 Disagree0

You guys really are too edgy... Take it easy
Thanks for your reply ed

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason i asked was because most players like to play using their current number like all the players i just mentioned... But sorry for asking.. Ill just look for another site...
Sorry if i caused any trouble {Ed018's Note - its not trouble, its just a question that i have no clue on}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED002 Do you know what City are offering Aguero to join them? {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get involved in any discussions about money and packages because all efforts to try and explain have failed. Manchester City are proposing a 50% hike on his existing wages - which values their offer at £152k per week after tax.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

£38 mil clubs now in advanced talks, how long have we chased aguero? He should be a done deal for us as soon as he was ready to leave atletico

Agree0 Disagree0

So that 304k a week before tax ED002? {Ed002's Note - Or thereabouts, yes. £15M a year.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He wont say no to that then will he?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 20:28:06
ED018 i dont know if you've seen the training methods AVB had for Chelsea during a training sessions in malaysia they were on the internet this morning..All based on the importance f the wingers cutting in and running at defences and as we have no wingers left or right it seems this may be the priority {Ed018's Note - i did see them last night. bringing in a winger obviously needs to be a priority.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Is Hulks buy out clause 75 mil plus is there no way around it ? {Ed002's Note - So the obsession with money continues and still people just don't understand. There is a release clause of 100M euros. It is completely irrelevant outside of Portugal - you really need to drop any thoughts of buy out clauses completely - it is a red herring. If Porto wish to sell the player they can ask any amount that they wish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So ED any player in Europe's buy out Clauses are red herrings the club if a club comes in with a good enough bid they can be sold? {Ed002's Note - Buy out clauses are only contractually recognised in law in the country in which they are written. Nowhere else. Players are otherwise sold when a buying club from another country places a bid that it isseptable to the selling club and the player wishes to move etc..}

Agree0 Disagree0

So Ed, in that case how is it that Andre-Villas Boas' minimum fee release clause was activated when he is in portugal and chelsea is obviously an english club, or did he activate the clause himself? {Ed002's Note - Without knowing the exact wording of his contract, that was the money that Porto wanted to release him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 19:28:41
Any update on the Modric situation? Your view on him as a player and not a transfer target? {Ed018's Note - i like modric and i feel like he would be a good addition. but i feel like there are more pressing issues}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Such as..... {Ed018's Note - we need a forward/winger who can stretch the field and take people on, we probably need 2 of them}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 19:34:31
Ed is it possible that Tevez's agent will start knocking doors rather than the other way round? I really connt see Tevez going back to Machester after all this palava. {Ed018's Note - they may approach Madrid.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's rumored that a European club has come in with a 50 million pounds bid for Tevez, is this just speculation or is there actually some substance to this? {Ed002's Note - I doubt there is anything just yet but perhaps some sort of deal from Inter involving Sniejder, or Malaga or Anzhi as the only others with those sorts of funds. Perhaps later in the window Real Madrid may show an interest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 19:07:20
Hey Ed, I know you don't want to talk about the money involved in Lukaku's formal bid, so all im going to ask is what is the likely-hood of this bid being accepted? Thanks {Ed018's Note - it could be accepted if Anderlecht are happy with the offer}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 18:58:55
I want to see Tevez or Aguero partnering Torres. I am thinking of selling my orange farm and give Roman money towards a deal with either of them.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I wouldn't bet on either of them joining, especially tevez.

ED steve cotterill portsmouth manager says a senior squad member may join his team on loan any ideas who? {Ed002's Note - Ryan Bertrand.}

20 Jul 2011 18:40:58
ED002 according to ian mcgarry AVB's main aim is for a left sided mid to head the attack and modric will be on the left in the middle with probably ramires holding what left sided mids are there out there Hazard Hulk Mata? {Ed002's Note - You post is rather confusing - but Hulk has traditionally played on the right. Hazard also spends a lot of time on the right.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I am not sure ED002 if you saw the training plans AVB has chelsea doing in Malaysia they were shown on the internet today..The plans he had heavily involved Wingers crossing and cutting in like he did at porto as we dont have any out and out Wingers it seems that is his priority along with Modric for the middle, Also Drogba and torres were used together in any plans signs DD may leave...

chelsea looking to sign angel di maria if neymar signs for real.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Ed said that CFC enquired about Di Maria but Real said he was not available. CFC asked them to notify us if anything changes.

Chelsea need to start working on this old timers team now before the cracks start to show. Just not the team we was.

Cfc has launched an official bid for lukaku. ed, how much is the bid? {Ed002's Note - It is irrelevant - we are going to do away with all talk of money as it does nothing but waste time and confuse.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 18:30:32
ED002 some reports say city have offered/payed Aguero's release clause? {Ed002's Note - I am sorry I had been told by all of the experts here that Manchester City are out of the running for Aguero. I try providing an update on Aguero as I just get abuse from the vegetables. Firstly, forget the thought about a "release clause" entirely. Atletico Madrid have a fee that they are willing to sell the player for. Anyone bidding will need to match that figure. The player has financial demands that need to be met. As we stand right now, and as I have already said, Manchester City remain interested in the player and don't discount Real Madrid and other clubs, possibly including Chelsea, making their interest known.}

20 Jul 2011 18:24:37
Ed, sorry if this has been asked before, but i would like to see more of Sturridge in this coming season. Do you know if he is in AVB's plans, if not, is he more likely to be loaned again or sold? Thanks, keep it up brother x {Ed002's Note - I suspect much will depend on pre-season, who joins, who leaves etc.. We will need to wait and see.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 Jul 2011 18:17:21
what is actually happening with Van der weil it has gone quite and also is there anything about the english defender that AvB wants? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not involved in discussions over VdW at present. I suspect we will need to wait a while to hear anything about a RB.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry ed but i had to ask, are there plans to sign a right back this summer or are we sticking with bosingwa for another season. {Ed002's Note - There was interest in Van Der Weil but that has gone quiet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 18:09:15
ed, have we given up on david villa? barce need money for fabregas and bojan should be a regular now.

hes a natural choice to play with torres from spain games {Ed002's Note - The problem with Villa is he has never wanted to leave Spain to play. Don't expect to see him at Stamford Bridge anytime soon.}

Manchester city has carlos tevez, barotelli, dzeko, adebayor and a newly signed john guidetti. ed, does this imply that aguero would prefer chelsea than mancity considering that two of the chelsea strikers are already over 32yrs and hence there is more chances for growth? {Ed002's Note - No. It doesn't imply anything of the sort.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Of course it does. MC will not move for Aguero while Tevez is a MC player. They do spend money but they are not that reckless. Let's put things into context here. {Ed002's Note - I assume you did not read the question at all: Manchester city has carlos tevez, barotelli, dzeko, adebayor and a newly signed john guidetti. ed, does this imply that aguero would prefer chelsea than mancity....

It implies absolutely nothing of the sort.}

BBC are reporting that we have made a firm offer for Lukaku, is this the first one we have made, and is there any indication that it is an acceptable valuation? Also do you know how much it is, BBC suggest it might be 18M? Cheers Ed (s) {Ed002's Note - Chelsea met with the Anderlecht general manager on Friday July 15 I am told that Van Holsbeeck is still looking for a figure in the region of 30M euros and that there are previously undeclared ownership issues to do with two other parties - one being Lukaku's father. Chelsea have made it clear that it is the responsibility of Anderlecht to deal with those third party payments and Chelsea were expecting Van Holsbeeck to have arrived for discussions accepting Chelsea were not interested in paying the sort of figure being suggested. Chelsea have now formalised a bid at the lower amount Chelsea had verbally proposed earlier in the year.}

Ed is there any news on De Bruyne?
I hear that the deal is dead but not from a very reliable source it has to be said. {Ed002's Note - The issue remains that he wants first team football and does not want to be loaned out. Chelsea want the kid but want him to be loaned out. Perhaps they will revisit the matter in the future.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 16:35:56
Just been watching videos of hulk of Porto and with out a doubt he'd be perfect, big quick strong skilful hood finishing , gets assists, good crossed and young Why pay so much for falcoa after he signed new contract and get hulk, really impressed, was fan of aguero but hulk is what we need. {Ed002's Note - Hulk signed a new contract as well - with a 100M euro get out clause. Don't read too much in to these clauses though.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So Ed, do you think there is a realistic chance that Hulk may join chelsea?, also i read somewere about the possibility of porto defender Rolando joining also {Ed002's Note - No don't expect Hulk. There was mention of Rolando but there is nothing right now.}

Tevez will stay in MC for this season as his movement to Corinthians has collapsed. Does that mean that now we have more chances of getting Aguero? {Ed002's Note - No.}
Why not? can you explain it? The MC is out of the race for Aguero, cos they wanted him as re-emplacement for Tevez. So only Real Madrid and Chelsea are now in the race, but I see Neymar going to RM.
{Ed002's Note - Manchester City are not out of the "race" for Aguero. What makes you think that?}

I thought that Aguero was the re-emplacement for Tevez. Now that he is not moving I thought MC was out. My mistake. They have plenty of strikers, will they bid for a new one?? Tevez, Dzeko, Balotelli...

Believable1 Unbelievable1

20 Jul 2011 16:27:14
Do chelsea have any interest getting Aguero? Seems like there is a good chance getting him now. All the big clubs busy chasing other players. Except man c. Surely no player with dignity would pick man c before chelsea.. ; ) Getting him and Pastore would make the team complete in my eyes. Thanks for good work Ed {Ed002's Note - Chelsea made their pitch for Aguero, they may return to the table. But don't count Real Madrid or Manchester City out of it. And perhaps one or tow other clubs may declare an interest as well.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 16:26:18
Is there any chance of Chelsea having interest in Tevez Ed? {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

20 Jul 2011 13:01:30
Ed, new Pastore bid.... please say it was from us?
Thanks, {Ed002's Note - You are reading something in to this that is not there: "new". The offers that have been made for Pastore include Chelsea as we know, Juventus including a bunch of surplus players, Roma offering part ownership, Manchester City which was rejected and both Milanese clubs (but they have non-EU player quota issues). Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have made serious enquiries but neither will have the cash for a deal so will be looking at horse trading. As you are aware, I suspect that the Pastore transfer will drag on a while longer. The 45M euro (not £45M) offer being referred to is the offer previously made by Cheslea and Zamparini has spoken with Chelsea recently and invited the club to make a further bid.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

It can end up by palermo waiting till deadline day and finally accepting chelsea's concrete offer eventually {Ed002's Note - Or not as the case may be.}

People have short memories. I believe self-critism is healthy and I will keep providing some. We do not want to get compared with MC and yet that's exactly how we started back in 2004. What are now some kind of upper football class? Need to start spending big.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

This does not mean we have to fall behind and become an arsenal tho.
lampard anelka drogba (all wrong side of 30 and havnt had the best of seasons.
kalou mikel malouda boswinga (just dead wood picking up big wages )

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really. We spend money, MC WASTES money just bidding and buying all the people they like. How many strikers have they bought in the last years? dozens

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats very true MC are doing a great job of making everyone else look good.
as for us spending money yes we do i.e torres luiz but i just think after watching us play with no passion and no style against utd last season we look like we were being left behind so i just think think the old players have reached a point were they dont do alot for the team no more but just make up numbers.
so i hope avb can put a spark bk in the team with a few additions to key positions

20 Jul 2011 12:46:14
Tevez will stay in MC for this season as his movement to Corinthians has collapsed. Does that mean that now we have more chances of getting Aguero? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Actually yes it does Man City were to go after Aguero if Tevez left but if Tevez stay I highly doubt they will move for Aguero anytime soon unless they plan on letting others leave {Ed002's Note - Fine. Have it your way, Manchester City are out of the "race" for Aguero.}

Are the people who constantly want to dump half our squad really Chelsea Fans?
In particular Kalou is highlighted regularly as someone we should sell.
Last season he scored 13 in 16 full starts his best return for the club plus quite a few assists.
What exactly do people expect from a fringe/squad player?
He rarely complains and regularly scores game changing goals.
Its a squad that wins the big prizes NOT just the starting eleven.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

From what i know Kalou has complained a fair bit, both about not starting enough and starting most of the time out wide rather than through the middle. People want him to move on because he is 25 now i think and is not good enough to start games week in week out, and when he does start, in my opinion, he plays very poorely and even disrupts the formation because of his desire to move towards the middle. I would love to know how many games he has played the full 90. There are better players out there, and younger ones, i would much rather see Kalou out and Sturridge given a chance than Kalou staying and Sturridge playing the season on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you know how much Kalou earns per week? {Ed002's Note - No and I am not interested in any discussions about money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed wont bring it up again. Thanks for taking the time to respond

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 10:27:16
do u think any of the younger players will step up to play a bigger role in the 1st team squad and if so which ones? {Ed002's Note - Van Aanhot and Bertrand are closest.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 10:25:20
Ed, couple of questions:
1. a number of players we were expecting to move on are still at Chelsea with little or no news of pending transfers out - Ferreira, Malouda, Kalou, Zhirkov. Is this because Chelsea are waiting for the new manager to give his view, or because there has been little interest in these players?
2. With the big transfer targets looking less likely, is Robben on the radar at all. Love it if we resigned him
3. Is Ribery someone we are looking at. He was the top target 1-2 years back, but with his reported troubles, understandly we've avoided being linked to him since. Still, he could be a good option

On a side note, why do people keep saying that Lamps is past his best. One season hit by injury and people forget he's 20 goals a season from midfield. Who from Barcelona, Man U or other top club can claim that record? {Ed002's Note - (1) We are not even close to being half way through the transfer window - why the impatience? (2) No. (3) No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 10:05:35
ed reports everywhere that weve bid 19 mill euros for vidal any truth and will we get him considering juve offered 13 mill {Ed002's Note - He looked likely to be heading to Juventus and there is certainly interest - but I don't know that a bid has been made yet.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

20 Jul 2011 09:00:52
ED, any serious interest in Marko Marin from chelsea? he seems talented but it just seems every talented/ overated (overpriced) Sp*rs player is linked with us at the minute.

I hope chelsea get on with signing a few players, and maybe getting rid of a couple. i.e. Bozzy, Zhirkov, Mikel, malouda?

Bloody hope we sign Lukaku he is a monster {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Marko Marin in the past - I don't know that there is right now.}

20 Jul 2011 08:02:29
Looks like roman in austerity mode rite now. Scousers are busy and so as damn united in transfer drama. no neymar, no pastore, no sanchez, no ganso...some young guns hav left......and there are rumours of parking parker at bridge. Editor who are most likely to be in before september. {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to say who are the most likely. The club's targets are generally well known and efforts are being made to add players to the squad.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2011 02:07:40
Ed002 earlier answered a question about finding a replacement for Essien with an elusive response and then said perhaps we don't need a replacement for him as if we already have the replacement in our squad. My question is do you think the replacement is Ramires or Mikel, or more along the lines of David Luiz? And maybe we will sign another central defender so Luiz can play the CDM? Do either of the Eds think that is something AVB is considering: experimenting with the squad, seeing how the players can fit in? {Ed002's Note - Essien has been injured before and the club has managed just fine. Chelsea have a squad of players who can be used, and no doubt players will still be coming and going - so why obsess about replacing him with another player?}

Anelka says he wants to stay and be apart of the new era at this rate all the deadwood want to stay will he leave ed018 {Ed018's Note - he might. and i'm only responding to this for the fact that you are referring to chelsea players as deadwood. if you are a true supporter you dont say things like this, we all know we need some younger players but these are all players we have cheered and supported over the last few years. you also asked Ed002 this and got no reply. i wonder why. you must support liverpool}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Well said mr.18, short memories some folk.

Agree0 Disagree0

C'mon ED018 how long are we going to keep doing this year in year out a man who doesnt even watch football will know chelsea need a squad refresh its so fraustrating same old story year in year out Anelka is poor he slows the team down along with Kalou Zhirkov ferreria but yet these players are still there and we are looking to offload Alex a brilliant defender i cant wait until anelka and co leave {Ed018's Note - listen i understand your concern, there is still alot of time left in the transfer period for players to be bought and sold, and believe me i would be a bit worried if we made no changes to the squad but i'd still support them every match}

Agree0 Disagree0

There still good players I'd rather keep them than lose them

Agree0 Disagree0

Anelka certainly isn't deadwood, he , imo, brought the best out of drogba and also has scored alot of goals to help us become more successful, ever since we brought him from bolton, he has been a consistant performer. anyone that considers lampard to be deadwood should remember, this season is one of the only ones he hasn't scored 20+ goals and he was out injured which caused a slip in form. that doesn't mean we don't need to bring in a replacement but there's no rush.

have faith
