I think you'll find the president of Barcelona was asked if he would like to sign Neymar? and he said we are not thinking about signings right now but it would be up to pep guardiola if we are!

Barcelona have paid Santos 8.5 mill for first refusal over the next 4 years. Obviously that would be subtracted from any transfer fee agreed between the two clubs. NEymar will be a Barcelona player it's just a question of when.

Hi Ed, i just wanted to ask about a couple of rumours that are doing the rounds today, the first is regarding Jack Rodwell, are we interested in the player? And so much so that we are willing to splash out big money to lure him away? And i have also read that Malouda and Kalou interest wealthy Russians Anzhi Makhachkala, and the club is willing to bid for both, as well as cover high wages. Is there any truth in this? Personally i hope the second has some truth in it, while the first is a rumour i would have welcomed before Oriol arrived, now i am not sure Rodwell is versatile enough to play alongside the talented spaniard. {Ed002's Note - There was interest in Rodwell last year. I don't know of anything right now but would not rule it out. Anzhi are interested in Malouda but he has more attactive options in Spain. I suspect he has a plan that will see him retire at Dijon by playing one season for them. I would not be surprised by the interest in Kalou and it could well be true.}

Discussions between Chelsea and Real Madrid have intensified over the transfer of Higuain over the past few days. However, it has become apparent that the player is not convinced that a move to London is the right decision for his career. Negotiations are expected to continue, but it is believed that a deal, if any, will not be completed until late into January. Although the striker position is a priority for AVB's squad, finding another central defender has been targeted for quite some time. Bolton's Cahill has been heavily linked but talks between the clubs have broken down due to the player's desire to join another unnamed English side. As such, Chelsea officials have moved on to other less known targets throughout Europe.

What do you make of this ed {Ed002's Note - There have been no discussions in recent days. The first contact was toward the end of October when Real Madrid approached Chelsea with a proposal that would see Higuain move and Chelsea not bid on Cavani. However, the fee mentioned at that time was too high for Chelsea to consider and they were not willing to step back from bidding for Cavani. A couple of weeks back it became clear that if both clubs bid on Cavani he would likely move to Spain in any case. Cheslea are still deciding whether to make a firm offer for Higuain. There are no timescales set on this at all. Nothing has broken down with Bolton - the talks were back in November and there has been nothing since that I know of. Chelsea need a centre back and have looked at a number of them, including Cahill.}
