ED002 have PSG agreed to sign Lavezzi? {Ed002's Note - Not yet as far as I know. There is interest in Lavezzi from several clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, PSG, Shakhtar, Inter and AC Milan. I think it would take a very high cash offer - more than 30M euros, some trading or a third-party ownership deal bid to get Napoli to sell the player who is unwilling to extend his existing contract which runs to 2015. Inter have offered 15M euro plus Marco Faraoni, Goran Pandev and Joel Obi but that offer is not acceptable to Napoli. Further bids have been made by Shakhtar and PSG although PSG said that their bid is really an exploration to see if a lower fee would be accepted. These are being considered by Napoli.}

just want your opinion guys. going to be honest, i have always been a little bit sceptical about rdm getting the full time job (although the way he has been treated along with eddie is an absolute disgrace). but as much as i love him, i wasnt sure he could lure big names to the bridge (which now seems irrelevant) and also, like AVB, he never had a bad spell and so we dont know how he will do when not everything is going well. HOWEVER. after all these signings and the apparent attempt to start moving on the old guard slowly, i believe we need to have a few people who we all know love the club so that we dont possibly turn into man city. thoughts?

Vincent

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Did u say AVB never had a bad spell that's because he didn't have a spell

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that you kompany

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry. what i meant was AVB never had a bad spell at porto and was used to winning, therefore when it didnt go well for him, he didnt know what to do. same can be applied to RDM at chelsea. and nope, i'm a better defender ;)

Hey ed
Can you tell me if these rumours about robin van persie maybe joining Chelsea for a really big sum of money, cause I believe he wouldn't work well together.
Any thoughts thanks ed for future {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of them but he was certainly not a target and I cannot see much has changed. Twitter?}

Ed, whats the latest with hulk? obviously i've heard that the deals been reached but normally you'd hear about it on ssn or more info would be out there but nothings been said at all... {Ed002's Note - I know nothing beyond what I said pre-cocktail hour. Tomorrow afternoon I travel and I doubt taht there is anything significant coming from me for a few days at least. I will perhaps return at the end of next week with: (a) some good news; (b) some bad news; (c) no news; (d) presents for you all; or (e) herpes. We will see.}

ED, will the interest from Real Madrid for Hulk effect Chelseas efforts to sign him? Do you see him still going ahead with him going Chelseas way?

hey ed! cheers for the amusing responses to some!

i was just wondering if you know anything in reguards to terry taking a little less time or not..... yes okay alot will read and think no. but in honesty i think that having gaz and luiz is key to a strong solid rebuild. not saying that he shouldnt start but every now and then terry taking a game off to develope younger ones...... also do you think ramos could be looked at this transfer season.... just a thought!!

Melbourne chelsea fanatic {Ed002's Note - Be tough to Terry to step aside but the future looks good with Kala and Chalobah. However, the real gen is Ake. Give him maybe three years and we are looking at something very special.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I agree with u ed i think ake does look lyk a brilliant player but the only bad thing about this guy is he seems abit small but as u said give him a couple of years and he should boulk up abit {Ed002's Note - Once he is in his teens he will be fine.}

hi ed there is a report that chelsea have agreed a 8million deal for van de wiel and personal terms are yet to be agreed.any truth about it or heard anything like that {Ed002's Note - I don't know that there is any agreement at this time. There is no shortage of clubs that would pay Ajax the fee they think, but VDW remains keen on Spain with Real Madrid interested. Although the situation with Azpilicueta is not looking too good this week and perhaps VDW is more likely again. We will see.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Lets hope not hes s**t yer he might be number one right back for holland but then thats where hollands squad is seriously weak the back four are terrible

Ed are we trying to finish the rebuilding of the team this season itself {Ed002's Note - No - it has to be an ongoing process. However, he remains there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes.}

When Marin signed, his competition for a place in the starting XI was Malouda and Kalou. Now it's Hazard and Hulk. Great strength in depth which is what we lacked last season. Assuming the Hazard and Hulk deals go through smoothly, just a new right back and I will be a very happy Chelsea fan. Oh, and Malouda, Essien and Ferreira should be moved on. Great servants to the club but time for Romeu, McEachran, Lukaku and Hutchinson to get more game time.

StevenCFC

Believable20 Unbelievable2

Only problem with romeu is if he becomes a class player barcalona put in the transfer that they can resign him for 15 mill i think it is so he could be a waste of time playing {Ed002's Note - It is a little more complex than that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if the player wishes to transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could Ed002 flesh that out a bit please? Any finer detail about the Romeu deal would probably clear up some of the misconceptions of this particular signing. Thanking you in advance. Smilie. {Ed002's Note - I am reluctant to go in to detail but simply if Chelsea decide to sell Romeu this summer the contract provides Barcelona first refusal at a fixed fee of 10M euros and again if Chelsea make the player available next summer, Barcelona would have first refusal at 15M euros. Barcelona cannot simply activate any clause.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent. Many thanks for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

As for a right back i really hope they sign Gregory Van Der Wiel from Ajax!

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2012 10:12:27
got two questions

have we looked at other right-backs like debuchy, howedes etc??...i personally would like cesar to come but there seems to be not much talk going on between chelsea and marseille....i just hope when chelsea are done with hazard and hulk transfers, we make cesar's signing a top priority

also ed, now that lampard is out of euro12, do you know the seriousness of the injury? how much time is he gonna be out....he would be available for the start of the next season, right?

taby {Ed002's Note - Several people have been looked at but the targets are identified. I really don't know how you conclude thatere has been a lack of talks over Azpilicueta. But still.

Lampard has a muscle problem and will return to the club for assessment and treatment.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

i believe the future is looking very good for chelsea. with hazard and hulk almost a done deal and the best of youth players in piazon, feruz, bamford,chalobah etc.its definitely exciting times in the bridge. but my concern is seeing fans asking for the likes of fernando and martinez, i believe we have good cover in that position in romeu as we saw a glimpse of him last season. with ramirez,romeu,mata,hulk,and hazard with torres banging the goals.sincerely there is no need going into another battle with porto.also torres next season will be like a new buy i bet you. so there is no need going 4 an expensive player in falcao, cavani, or higuain. let lukaku be his backup remember we paid 18million 4 him. lets believe in this young players to start a new phase for chelsea fotball club. exciting times mate.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Agree.if we have to go for any striker then it should be the less expensive players like schurle, luuk de yong etc that are young but are still capable of lightening the premier league.

zib

Agree0 Disagree0

Yer i agree too but everyone started giving me s**t for saying its a waste of spending 30 plus mill on a cavani or someone when we got sturridge lukaku torres and possibly hulk who can play there

Agree0 Disagree0

We definitely need a new right back, but other than that, our squad is already 10 times stronger than the last couple of years. It looks stronger than when we won the league with ancelotti!

Come on you blues!
dave

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not like Falcao/Cavani are particularly old?!

I don't know why people seem to have a problem with the club targeting them?

Answer me this, who would you rather have playing up front - Sturridge/Lukaku or Falcao/Cavani?

IB

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not like we don't want them, but tha do we really need to pay another 50mil and huge wages for a striker when we have good young cover who could become as good as these two, and the club obviously wants to meet the fair play rules

Agree0 Disagree0

No1 ever said there not wanted but like the post above said why throw money away when you got lukaku sturridge torres and hulk can play there if he signs buy demba ba for 10 mill or schlurre

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku is a few years of being a week in week out player, that's if he develops as we hope.

Sturridge doesn't do it for me at all, he is wasteful and slightly selfish on the ball.

Hulk isn't being brought in to play as a striker although I'm sure he'd prove capable.

I would assume that the club has taken into account the FFP regulations. Have a strange feeling that it wouldn't be something that would just pass them by...

We are creating a great squad right now, whilst it's viable financially. Money spent now will hopefully be repaid with future success in a time where income from competition and sponsorship will be more vital than it is now.

Dear Ed002: have been on my travels this past week and haven't been able to read mist of the news. I went through the page and the general talk is that we are getting both Hazard and Hulk. I understand there is no official confirmation, but i bet you know the real situation. Do you expect both deals to be completed?
Regards,
JG {Ed002's Note - The transfers cannot be completed until the transfer window opens on July 1. As previously stated, bothe have details t re resoilved but I understand that the agreement for Hazard has nothing potentially show-stopping left so it should go through. Broad agreement has been reached over a fee for Hulk which had been the sticking point. There are details to resolve and there has been a push from Real Madrid to enter discussions earlier this week. There is some level of confidence that the transaction can probably be completed OK.}

Hulk hazard mata Torres can't wait till next year I can't actually think of a weak point in our team now

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Right Back. Ivan doesnt want to play there - though hes happy to cover. If hes the only real option he may well leave - and he IS the only real option at present.

We need a quality, first choice right back then were sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

RB? Bran good there; but we still need a specialist replacement (eg VDW or the bloke from Marseilles?) for Bosingwa and this position has been something of a weakness for CFC on frequent occasions over recent seasons

VBS

Agree0 Disagree0

I can if we have to "park the bus" so to say none of them will be able to provide cover as s**t as kalou was he was good at covering the also s**t bosingwa hence why against barcalona and munich mata was complete garbage hes useless without the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a Reading fan and i think chelsea will finish 2nd to be fair cech ivanovic (if he stays) terry cahill/david luiz cole lampard ramires/merel(guy with odd hair) hulk mata hazard torres marin and your after demba ba 7m dembele 10m and offering bertrand a new deal

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Because they have some class players ed :D hulk fernando moutinho deco used to play there falcao did etc etc there like the ajax of portugal bring through amazing players

Agree0 Disagree0

They're nothing like the Ajax of Portugal. They operate a shrewd business model in purchasing (predominantly) South American talent, usually with 3rd party investors and then sell the players on for a massive profit. Ajax have a legacy of growing local players through their academy (like Barcelona/Athletic Bilbao).

There still bringing them players through and selling them for a tidy profit though are they not ........ ajax bring players up sell them on hence ajax of portugal :D

Chelsea have agreed a 38 million pound deal for Hulk!

Believable6 Unbelievable3

31 May 2012 23:52:20
Chelsea have agreed a fee of £38m for the Porto striker Hulk and the deal is ready to be closed. The figure has been brokered by facilitators working on behalf on each club and, with the Brazil international's personal terms not expected to be an obstacle, it merely remains for the directors on both sides to sign the relevant paperwork.
The Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, as ever, will reserve the right to renegotiate until the last minute yet there is a confidence, not least on Hulk's part, that there will be no glitches, after what has been a lengthy process, and that he will get the move that he has craved, subject to a medical.
Porto have been happy to push the line about Hulk's release clause being €100m and although the Guardian has now learned that the figure is €60m [£48m], the Portuguese club have been forced to accept less, not least because only Chelsea have been willing to make a competitive offer. The release clause was never going to be binding. Porto had wanted no less than £40m but Chelsea have haggled them down.
