Any chance of a brief summary on the plans for January Ed or players we've looked at with a view to be brought in next summer?, besides of course your trip to California to visit your mother which I am sure all of us here hope you enjoy.

thanks for taking time to respond has always.

{Ed002's Note - I would not be so sure that Chelsea will bring in any players in January but there remains a chance that some business may be possible in advance of next summer. The summer will see Chelsea again look to move on a number of the loan players who are deemed not to have a future at the club whilst others will be assessed to see if they are ready to step up next season. I would expect minimal changes but the club have looked at: Rudiger and Varane for a centre back role; Lucas Silva, Khedira and Christoph Kramer for the defensive midfield role (I would expect John Obi and Romeu to leave next summer) and Icardi, Kramaric and Bakkali for an attacking role (although I doubt a deal will be done for any of these. Talisca gets spoken of but 2016 would be more likely (if interest remains then) as he would have work permit issues. The club will continue to look for a forward. There is obviously an on-going activity of scouts looking at players around the world - but little can be read in to that (except by the Daily Express) as that is the job the scouts have. There will additionally be consideration to the goalkeeping situation but I suspect there will be discussions with Jamal Blackman before there is any significant move on that front.}

Cheers Ed wouldn't want any of them except Varane still think it would be terrible for Zouma and Kalas if we signed him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You have to remember that Terry will be retiring at some point. If someone misses out I suspect it will be someone other than Zouma or Kalas.}

Kalas' versatility could prove very useful in the future. Kind of like we have Ivanovic right now, capable of covering both RB and CB positions.
I don't see many 'big' names in there, and I'm quite okay with that. However, I'm a bit surprised to see the club still maintain some form of interest in Bakkali. The last year has been a weird one for him as he was one of the most promising youngsters in the Netherlands and quickly became quite the headcase according to reports.

Great write up, Ed, thanks a lot for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Bakkali's representatives have been discussing the player with two other sides, I would not expect him to move to Chelsea as it stands now but he has been considered this season.}

Cheers Ed understand about Terry but the way he's playing he could go on for at least another season after this one.

Good to know, cheers Ed. Sincerely hope you have a good time in California if indeed you go there :) safe travels

Good point about Kalas replacing Ivan Christensen could come close also we've got a great potential future back 4 if Varane replaced terry.

Kalas/Christensen Cahill Varane/Zouma Azpi
