ed do we have any interest in ander herrera as were being linked in spanish newspapers also who else is interested in the player
thanks {Ed002's Note - Nothing right now on Ander Herrera.}

Ed, there seems a general lack of being linked with central players - do you see the club bringing a player in for this area if we don't allow someone to leave (Meireles)?

My opinion only but we could end up top-heavy with all these wannabe No.10's knocking about and no-one to get the ball to them cleverly and quickly. {Ed002's Note - It'll be fine.}

hi ED could u let me the know the deal with sam hutchinson, i knew they gave him a short term deal last season just wondering if any plans to give him a longer deal, he is getting to the age now where he should be playing first team football? cheers ED {Ed002's Note - Hutchinson has a year to run on his deal and is training and playing under close medical attention. I don't know if an extension is to be offered.}

Hi Ed - not sure how good the source is but.....understand PSG are willing to pay 43 M for Hulk? - can you shed any light on this..? {Ed002's Note - In which case they are prepared to pay a lot more than Chelsea.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

43M pounds or Euros?
I think Hulk will have some say in where he goes. He might reject a move to PSG in favor of CHels. Might be a way for Porto to drive his price tag up.

Rumour is that Paris have come in with a massive bid for Hulk, but he is desperate for a deal to be sorted with us. Is this just Porto playing games again ? Also huntelaar linked this morning with a 17m buyout clause. Spready.

Victor Moses is a fantastic young English talent who I think would be a great signing at the right price!
I watched the Wigan games home and away last season and especially at the DW he was fantastic, he had a great season and naturally the bigger teams have come knocking
Sign him I say

Rich

Believable10 Unbelievable5

But it is confirmed that he wont come in

Agree0 Disagree0

One problem yes he is english born but wont be an England international

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see him being signed for his talent and 2 start he is overated nd if he is signed iy will b lik steve sidwell 2 make up the numbers

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure, Moses is good. But Chels already have Sturridge. Why buy another young, attacking English player with lots of promise? Sure, Moses is a natural winger, but we have Hazard and Mata and Ramires. Plus KDB and Marin. Our need is in midfield!

{Ed002's Note - We are done with all of the abuse etc. Eli and I appreciate the sentiment but it is time to cut the posts. I warned everyone yesterday we are not in a position to support anything which gets out of hand at all - I don't have the time available to oversee the posts at a macro level. Puzzled has not been abusive and neither have you - and you are all welcome to banter about the quality of the pies at different clubs and to compare the length of your love truncheons and whatever else you kids get up to nowadays.

What we can't have is brain-dead knuckle-dragging pot-bellied tattoo-adorned shaven-headed jerks spoiling it for everyone else.

Generally you are all a decent bunch - play nice or I won't let you play at all.}

Moses is consistent, english, young and proven performer in the prem, a cheaper option than hulk in my eyes, even, not saying I don't want hulk, cause don't get me me wrong his a great player. But moses is proven in the prem, I don't want the club to get lured in to purchasing hulk at a fee whcih is just stupid. Like ed says fees are irrelevant, I think 8 million will get moses and if we were to sign hulk I would want it below 40million. I don't know what people opinions on this are, and I don't care what anyone thinks to be honest. We all have our own opinions on this website, but the I see people writing things like "ed is there any chance chelsea will sign richard dunne as cover" whoever that was, you need sleep mate. One last thing, give piazon a chance next year, and ake!

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Why do you care about the price of Hulk, money is no object for that Russian owner of yours.

ED002 Dave Whelan has said we made a ridiculous bid for Moses why are we bidding for Moses? is it because we are short of home grown players? i cannot see him getting first team football for us what do you know of the situation? {Ed002's Note - See previous answers.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Coz it would a gd bit of business with the home grown rule comin into place soon... N he's gd young talent which would cost us very little! Proven in the prem tht can be danger man... Look at the last couple of games!

How I see the rest of the summer transfer dealings developing...

RB) We are definitely in for a new right back, not to replace Ivanovic but to offer competition. There are three that we are currently linked heavily with - Lukasz Piszczek, Cesar Azpiliqueta & Mathieu Debuchy. My personal preference out of the three would be Azpiliqueta, Debuchy has been impressive for France but when I have had the chance to watch Azpiliqueta he has looked solid and impressive. My curveball option would be Nataniel Clyne at Palace; although he would need a year on loan at another Premier League club, and we need a player for this season, he has a great future ahead of himself.

RW) I have a funny fealing the Hulk deal will fall apart due to us not agreeing a fee with Porto, I think the money they want for him is too much. He has the odd very good game where he is pretty much unstoppable but I have seen him not show up for games on too many occasions! I would like to see our continual interest in his compatriot, Lucas Moura, come to fruition. He can play RW and also change positions with Mata, Hazard etc. at will; the thought of those three in the same team is very exciting. Should Daniel Sturridge leave I would actually like Theo Walcott to come in as a backup option for both the RW and ST positions; he has stated his desire to play as a striker.

ST) If Sturridge stays or goes we will need to sign a new striker, I have already said I'd like Walcott to come in but he wouldn't be able to play the lone striker role, he would very much be a backup. Looking forward to seeing Romelu Lukaku during pre-season - if he performs well the give him a chance. With Fernando Torres likely to be rested after the Euros Lukaku should see a fair bit of pitch time during re-season. Other potential new players - I like the look of Robert Lewandowski, he would be my preference. Torres, Lewandowski and Lukaku as the three main striking options.

In short signings I'd like to see - Azpiliqueta, Moura, Walcott (if Sturridge leaves) and Lewandowski.

Surewould

Believable7 Unbelievable7

I stopped reading once Walcott's name got mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll be pleased to know Victor Moses seems the preferred option then my anonymous friend!

Surewould

Agree0 Disagree0

I like everything you've posted, i don't understand why people are so against Walcott, he is very fast and is a good finisher for a winger, people are forgetting we NEED home grown players in the squad, i would jump at the chance to swap Sturridge for Walcott if Sturridge wants out.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like we Chelsea fans are split 50/50 over Walcott. I believe he is what we are missing,raw pace to counter attack teams.
Hulk would be my first choice as he has quality as well as expeirence at the highest level. I would prefer Walcott to moura simply because I have not seen moura other than YouTube, also I believe we would just be a stop gap until Madrid come calling. My choice at RB would be Kyle walker or Micah Richards, maybe using Sturridge as a make weight. I don't see Torres coming good and being a 20 goal a season striker. So on that basis I would like cavani to come in and cut our loses on Torres. Victor Moses would be a good replacement for kalou(squad player).

Agree0 Disagree0

How long have you guys been following chelsea? We hardly get chances to counter-attack teams, we tend to come up against teams that sit back. On that note, explain to me how useful would Walcott be to us? He's solely all about pace, hasn't got a footballing brain and has no trickery. Deny him space and looks clueless, Chamberlaine is still adapting at Arsenal and looks twice the player. Exactly the same reason SWP was hopeless for us, this isn't some video game, explains why Arsenal don't mind seeing the back of him and top clubs don't seem interested yet some think it's what we need? Give me strength

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold on, you talk about homegrown and in the same sentence you metion about swapping Sturridge? LoL. I'd 10x rather have Sturridge than Theo "all pace but no footballing brain" Walcott.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see the need for Walcott either, we play a slow, patient passing game with good passers and clever players. Walcott is pace, only ever going to be good on fifa! Ok he has had some good games aka England vs Sweden but on the whole the guy is not good enough for Chelsea

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said we dont play counter attacking football we was based on that when the special one was here with duff and robben.

jambo

Agree0 Disagree0

Why has everyone given up on Sturridge? He's a great young talent who had a bit of a cold spell late last season. I think he should be the primary backup to Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

When clubs or national teams change just one coach, almost in all cases there will be substantial changes in the preference to the first team choices, the bench, and the distant peripheral players. Remember these are differences between JUST TWO ( 2 ) different coaches.Now imagine us supporters, lets estimate Chelsea supporters at 3 million worldwide. Imagine the differences in opinion you are going to get. So I would encourage fellow supporters NOT to prescribe what they think are absolute and rigidly firm and only solutions to Chelsea new players needs. There are grounds which can be common in our observations, eg we were position 6 because we were not good on the pitch.Personall I would say the club was aging. There was too much player power.The AVB experiment was a total disaster. Torres did not , and has not, performed. Sturridge has potential if only he could spend more time away from the press complaining about HIS position 9. Cech sometimes gets into periods of dithering and indecision, needing a good competitor for his position. There were no wingers to open up teams, both right and left. Ramires has never been a winger all his life, we were just desperate. Drogba did very little scoring during the year. In short, we like need at least 6 FIRST TEAM starters right now, another 3 backups the likes of Marin and De Bryune. The 6 would be Hazard leftwing + new 9 ( Torres bench ), new rightwing, new 2, new partner for Ramires at holding mid, new extra 9 ( Huntelaar ) to vary matches, and also to compete in 4 cups. Walcott can be trained to be very useful, just like Nani. All the comments I have read from all of you may be different, but not necessarily wrong. What is fact is if we stopped buying new players today, we would struggle in all competitions. My wish right now would be Hulk, Lewandowski, Huntelaar, Walcott, promote Todd Kane, Fellaini. Thanks a lot. David Shepherd Mutambirwa, Zimbabwe, Africa

Skysports Wigan reject bid from Chelsea for Moses?! Any thoughts ed ?!

hi whats the chances of us getting victor moses could be a good young signing

Wigan reject undisclosed bid from Chelsea for Victor Moses

ED, not sure how reliable SkySportsNews is with official bids but they are saying that Chelsea have had a bid rejected by Wigan for Victor Moses...?

TM

Hi Ed - just read the below;
Sky Sports sources understand Wigan Athletic have rejected an undisclosed bid from Chelsea for Victor Moses? is this correct? do you know the fee involved?

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of the bid but as we know the club is looking to bolster the home grown quota. Fees are not a matter of interest to us.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ed if we was to get Moses ... Would he come in as a squad player to booster the home grown talent ... N not affect the other main targets such as hulk or even other striker?! Cheers ed002 gd job! :) {Ed002's Note - I though my repsonse was pretty clear.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he the only english home grown player we have looked at ED? or are there other's aswell? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are aware that they need to maintain a home grown quoto and look at players from England as much as they look at players from any one other country.}

Hi Ed doing a great job! if Modric heads to Spain - Real Madrid would Ozil become available at the right price?? if so would Chelsea be Interested, also we we will tracking Di Maria? {Ed002's Note - There are really too many "ifs" in there to give a sensible answer but if Modric moves to Real Madrid there will most likely be a player in exchange. There are other midfield players that are more likely to leave than Oezil. Real Madrid are aware of the interest from Chelsea in Di Maria but I very much doubt that anything will happen.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Jun 2012 07:27:32
Let us go after Modric again .I think 30 m pounds should do it.He is definitely worth it.He is tailor made for our new set up .Besides being a playmaker ,he works his ass off for the team defensively.If we cannot get him we need to go out and get Javi Martinez.We need to beef up that central midfield position.Right back is another important position Actually there are very few good right backs around.We can sign Cesar as a long term prospect or we can sign Debuchy and try to blood in Todd Kane gradually.Terry might be banned for quite a few games so Ivanovic has to be used along with Luiz and Cahill as central defenders.Debruyne,Marin ,Hazard can all play on the right.Lets try and buy Luke de Jong as back up striker.He will be cheap and effective.Sell Sturridge(Very selfish and it is unlikely he will change his attitude),give chances to Piazon,Machechran instead of him in the team.
roan

Believable11 Unbelievable1

How can you say play Piazon + McEachran ahead of Sturridge? (I can sort of understand Piazon as he 'CAN' play in Sturridge's positions) However, Mceachran? In a striker/winger role? Lets use some sense!

Ash

I am not talking about positions.I am talking about a place in the team.They can play in their own positions but can take Sturridge's place in the team.

Is it true that Juventus have put a £24m bid in for Torres?! {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable3 Unbelievable4

19 Jun 2012 06:25:51
Personally I would welcome sturridge leaving chelsea as he is greedy as well as a headless chicken and last year hindered the club a lot as a winger due to him forgetting that there were another 10 players on his team.

Also if Dzagoev will be available on a free next year is it most likely that chelsea will wait or try and get him now for a knock down price.

P.S. Is Ramires in any consideration for a wide role next season as over the season he has become a lot more technically able and skilful as well as his pace being to heavy to handle.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - CSKA want to offer Dzagoev a new deal and it is not in his interests to move now. Ramires remains an important part of the squad but I don't want to get in to "roles".}
