Seen a report that's says a €45 million deal with athletico for Costa. €41 million plus another €9 million in add ons. Hope it's true, the sooner he's gone the better.

a £45m deal where £41m + 9m = £50m? I see your maths is as good as Costas logic.

Good morning Eds;
MARCOS ILORENTE of Real Madrid. Does any of the Eds know if we are interested in him?
Sorry/ thanks if you guys are busy and unwilling to take any questions.

{Ed001's Note - I assume you mean Llorente? As far as I am aware there is nothing in it, but I have not asked about him as he is a reserve player who is not particularly highly rated in Spain.}

Further talks being held for Drinkwater, looks promising. This is definitely a signing I'd be very happy about, a hard working player who is more than capable of doing a job for us when needed. Couldn't care less what other are talking about, don't think they remember him being a key player in Leicester's title winning season.

if a player gives 100% and plays for the badge i don't care who big his name is or club he comes from.

If we succeed in signing Drinkwater, IT MEANS OUR BOARD IS THINKING. He will prove to be a very important signing.
Asides the fact that he's a hardworker, he will add the required depth to our midfield; add to our home grown quota; has loads of Premiership experience; become the first nail on Fabregas' Chelsea career (for those praying that want Fabregas out of Chelsea may be cos he's slowing down) ; will blend quickly with Kante in the midfield (can also effectively play in a 2-man central midfield) etc

ONCE AGAIN THE CLUB SHOULDN'T WASTE TIME IN TYING UP THIS DEAL. THE MORE THIS DEAL LINGERS- THE MORE LIKELY IT WON'T MATERIALISE.

Not sure why obinna 123 received so many thumbs down; whether it was the Fabregas comment or buying Drinkwater. To me Drinkwater would be ideal as he is solid, an excellent passer of the ball, obviously knows Kante, can defend and good in the air. A steady, no frills player that all clubs need. There is no doubt that Sigurdsson's transfer has benchmarked the pricing and we may well have to pay the asking price and probably should have already with the season underway.

c1955 what i meant by drinkwater being the first nail on fabregas' chelsea career is that: he will gradually replace fabregas in the team as time goes on- because he has an eye for a pass too (though not as good as fabregas) .
he's also very strong and combative too.

with all due respect to fabregas, he's becoming weaker- though his experience and vision is needed in this chelsea team.

drinkwater will fit in nicely into this chelsea team. i think he's truely a conte's target.
