hi eds do you know when hazard de bruyne and marin will be unveiled to the press keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you are expecting.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I think some are expecting someone to say 'Ta-Daa!' or possibly pull a sheet off of them. Would be pretty cool if they both jumped out of huge cakes, or maybe even replica Champion's League Cups. I may be wrong though...

Agree0 Disagree0

Is watching them all play against Seattle not good enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Cavani joins do you think him and Torres will be able to work well together or will Torres leave .. !? {Ed002's Note - Plan is Torres stays.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Is it possible for cavani to play on the right wing? a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

It just depends whether torres wants to stay,i understand it as the club want to keep him but if he wants to leave they wont get in his way... is that right? {Ed002's Note - And an acceptable bid is made, right.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, is there anybody that the club would stand in the way of if they wanted to leave and an acceptable bid was made? {Ed002's Note - Well the club would say they if they did not want to sell but if a player wants to go they are not going to be difficult over it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its more than that, torres was told by roman he will be the main man next year

Are the rumours rubbish or are chelsea really closing in on cavani? {Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

Rumours transpiring from all over the place
1- is cesar azpilceuta on his way to Chelsea
2- will Chelsea re bid for Moses with a realistic offer and Willian? {Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

18 Jul 2012 20:11:35
does anybody else think berbatov would be a good back up striker? he wants to leave man u and i dont think he will be to expensive. and hes a good goalscorer.

Believable3 Unbelievable28

What do you think ed? {Ed018's Note - not at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking the same thing about Defoe!

CT13

Agree0 Disagree0

No and no!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i never thought of defoe. defoe and berbatov are both great goalscorers and if torres still cant score they would be useful. but it is unlikely, its also a shame chelsea didnt get jelavic from the mighty rangers in january {Ed018's Note - hard to believe there are discussions about Berbatov and Defoe, when the club has signed Marin, Hazard. Are close to signing Oscar and have been linked with Cavani and Hulk}

Agree0 Disagree0

No no no no no

Why would you want players of that age in
The signings so far should tell you what the club is trying to do

Agree0 Disagree0

Its okay talking about a good starting 11 but we need depth and berbatov or defoe could give us this in attack {Ed018's Note - Ill take Cavani and Lukaku instead}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 20:08:07
Is cavani in negotiations over the transfer of cavani from Napoli, is there a chance he could sign before the Olympics or is this not realistic with Chelsea being in the US, cheers in advance, blue blood {Ed002's Note - Where the team are is irrelevant. He himself is not in negotiations at this time.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

18 Jul 2012 19:58:57
eds. Realistically, who do you think chelsea should sign next? {Ed002's Note - The two on the cards are Oscar and Azpilicueta.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Do you not think 25million for oscar is a huge risk? he was unknown to me before i heard of chelsea's interest. and the premier league is a tough league, do you think hes good enough? {Ed002's Note - There is always a level of risk but he will be eased in over several months.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Every player the club buy is a risk some work some don't.

It's not your money so don't worry..

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 19:21:45
Eds. If Oscar has indeed had his medical we can only assume his work permit has been granted; or would that application still be processing? Why do some foreign players have more of an issue gaining permits than others?

Cheltic {Ed002's Note - There will not be a work permit yet and teh medical was done in Brazil - not in England.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Wasnt the medical donein London yesterday when he arrived like all sites claimed ? {Ed002's Note - No. So who to believe - "all sites" or me?}

Agree0 Disagree0

You of course.. Thanks Ed ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 19:05:19
Apparently we have had a 26 million poun bid rejected for Willian, I seriously hope we don't get him, with Oscar signing and other targets like cavani and hulk and azpilcueta I think we are wasting Time, and with merelies benoyoun Malouda likely to leave maybe a holding midfielder. Either cavani or hulk and azpilcueta would be amazing now Oscar all but signed

Believable5 Unbelievable4

I think if we had bid £26 million for Willian then Shakhtar definitely wouldn't turn that down!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 18:51:26
What's Azpilicueta's problem?

'Isn't totally convinced Chelsea is right for him'

We have no natural right back with a fair amount of ability (Hutchinson not good enough), he'd probably get a game every week and he's worried about his international hopes?!

Chance to be a regular at the European Champions...
I'm well and truly baffled

Rich {Ed002's Note - The statement is incorrect. See the other posts.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

'The issue remains to convince the player that London is the place for him'

That's from you Ed

Rich {Ed002's Note - Which is very different to "Isn't totally convinced Chelsea is right for him" - it is simply to do with his ability to be chosen for his international team - as I have explained.}

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The issue is not particularly the fee with Marseille but ensuring he is comfortable with a move to England as he is worrried it could impact on his international career.}

Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm just reading and commenting on what that seems to mean

Rich {Ed002's Note - No you appear to simply be wasting my time over something I explained. I don't have the time for this so someone else can deal with the grizzling on the Chelsea page this evening.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he isn't totally convinced is he so how is that incorrect?
I'm not grizzling you Ed i think you guys do a great job, i'm simply commenting on what, to me those mean. I'm not completely wide of the mark with that

Rich {Ed002's Note - As I said, I would hope it has been fixed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair does

Hopefully we'll both be smiling like a penguin on a playground if he's in the royal blue strip next year!

Hey ed. is it true Cesar Azpilicueta is gonna be in england in a few days to discuss personal terms with chelsea? {Ed002's Note - He is here for the Olympics.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

18 Jul 2012 18:43:04
Word from the Bridge is that Oscar has passed his medical and agreed a contract with the club. Just finalising the deal between clubs and a press conference will be announced soon. Ed, how serious are Chelsea about getting Cavani? I mean he will be the steal of the decade in my opinion and will be big news all over the world if it happens. {Ed002's Note - Oscar has not had a medical in London but the results of a medical conducted in Brazil have been provided to the club. I am not sure what the scale is for "seriousness" but Chelsea would like to buy Cavani.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

18 Jul 2012 18:20:20
Tonight: 2-0 Marin and Lamps. De Bruyne MOM Hazard get 1 assist :)

Believable4 Unbelievable12

You got the Marin bit right, didn't expect such a shocking display from the defence! 4-2 in the end is a good result

I Would Love it if Cavani joined us and I can honestly see it happen but...That could once and for all finish torres' hopes of ever being a world class striker again imo. I say if we cannot get Hulk then Sturridge may have a pivotal role next year. He may occupy the right wing and back up strikers role instead of Hulk. If the whole torres thing isn't working by january then bring in Cavani or Falcou and flog fernando in the summer.

Anybody's thoughts..? (This is if we DO NOT get Hulk)

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Thing is though that if he DOES join us does that mean he will still be a great striker, or will he go down the route of many others (Torres, Sheva, Crespo, Kezman, Casiraghi, Sutton) who come with a reputation and suddenly find they can't hit a barn door?

Agree0 Disagree0

Crespo was quality when he played for us!

He just didn't play for us that often because he didn't settle in England the way he'd hoped

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres was Terrible for Liverpool the season he joined Chelsea so he's reputation was already going down hill.

Blue con

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree we should give it until January with Torres before bringing in cavani. Id much rather see a winger come in.

How many potential targets is RDM monitoring? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what sort of answer you are expecting to this. There are players that interest the club - as discussied in the posts. Obviously there are scouts constantly looking at players.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2012 18:13:26
Apparently chelsea have made a €9 million bid for Azpilicueta, is this true ed? {Ed002's Note - Like dejas vi. Putting aside the amount of money, there is a broad agreement with Marseille regarding the transfer. The issue remains to convince the player that London is the place for him.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2012 17:46:53
Ed - Do you think Chelsea will still get Hulk or are we now focusing on Canani ?

Also could oscar play in the Pre Season match today .. !? {Ed002's Note - Oscar is in London - Chelsea are 5,000 miles away.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Some people just don't have a clue

Agree0 Disagree0

Be fair lads I've actually heard he's quite fast, if start running now maybe he might make the 2nd half.

Kenny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hulk going 2 spur,was seen in london wth AVB and his ass mansger. {Ed002's Note - Hulk is in London for the Olympics.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 16:41:39
Not so simple.. He may feel he won't get first team football or be unable to cope in the league which would effect his international prospects

Haks

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Wat u on about? {Ed002's Note - It will be about Azpilicueta.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh sorry pressed post instead of reply :S but yah azpilicueta

Haks

Agree0 Disagree0

If he doesn't think he can compete for first team football, then we shouldn't go after him. We need someone who is confident of challenging for the starting position. {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with not competing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 16:37:33
ed002 as far as you are saying Oscar is as good as ours nothing is going to change that. the deal cant all of a sudden not go through again. the reason am saying that is because Oscar told the journalist before he boarded the plane in Brazil to London that he was most definitely staying put in internactional {Ed002's Note - I am not saying that the deal is done at all - I have explained that agreement needs to be reached with the player.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

So there is a possibility the deal might not go through then:( is it possible for another club to come in and hijack the deal from under Chelsea, especially now that the know that a deal can be done on Oscar. is it not wise to tie down the deal before the Olympics start. cause if he shines in the Olympics that would only raise the price. what do you feel ed {Ed002's Note - This is hopeless. I do not have the time to answer such simple questions. Of course it is possible he will not agree terms or anther club will get involved.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 15:33:48
Hey Ed,
Been away for a while and im a bit confused. I understand what has happened with Oscar but where do Chelsea stand regarding Edison Cavani?
Thanks a lot
Dan {Ed002's Note - There remains interest in him.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

18 Jul 2012 14:13:09
Ed002, are Falcao and Higuain still potential targets for Chelsea this summer or has the likes of Cavani, Schurrle and Hulk become the options for another striker. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Falcao, Higuain and Schurrle are not really in the picture any longer. There remains interest in Cavani and Hulk.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Was the fee the main issue for Schurrle ED you thought there may have been another bid? Also is jovetic another one who's interest may have died down? {Ed002's Note - He is not for sale. Nothing will happen immediately in respect of Jovetic but a chance remains that something may happen.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened with Higuian? Was the price quoted by RM too high? Or more because they wanted us to pull out of any deal for Cavani? {Ed002's Note - Both - and that was back in January.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 14:08:28
Are we no longer interested in Lucas Moura? {Ed002's Note - The situation with Lucas Moura is very complicated and it could drag out all summer and come to nothing. Chelsea made two bids earlier in the year and Inter also made a bid in January. Real Madrid looked to a deal involving another player going in exchange but that came to nothing. His agent would prefer a part ownership deal with Inter. Manchester United remain interested in the player but probably not at a price that is acceptable to Sao Paulo and I expect their bid would be unacceptable. I would not discount any of the clubs, nor would I discount him staying until the end of the year and discussions starting again in January.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

18 Jul 2012 14:07:19
Hi Ed. I have tried to search for problems regarding the Azpilicueta transfer to Chelsea.. I can't seem to figure out why we aren't hearing more about the transfer and have we made a bid for him? If not why not ? I have read £10mil should do it. Is it more than we are willing to pay for the guy regarded to be our 1st priority as RB ? Im confused over this Azpilicueta deal... ? {Ed002's Note - The issue is not particularly the fee with Marseille but ensuring he is comfortable with a move to England as he is worrried it could impact on his international career.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How can a move to the champions of europe have a negative impact on his international career? It can only have a positive impact surely! Better league, better team, Simple.

Ed??

FT9 {Ed002's Note - Take it up with him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure he's more worried about not being able to settle and adapt to the league, thus his form would suffer and he probably wouldn't start automatically.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 14:04:51
Hi ed two questions...
1) Would any deal for Cavani have to wait until after the Olympics?
2) Will Malouda's wages hindr our chances of offloading him?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - The Olympis are of no relebvance to the matter. Malouda can negotiate whatever deal he wishes in terms of wages. It is pretty much up to him to find a club and a deal that is accetable.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2012 13:48:45
ED are we likely going to sign Oscar? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Good to hear Much more business to come ED a Striker and a RB that pretty much it? {Ed002's Note - They are the priorities right now but not necessarily all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 13:21:22
Oscar is surely now a chelsea player as he has passed medical and agreed terms to be unvieled very soon.
He is going to be a brilliant signing for the blues. whats your thoughts ed {Ed002's Note - About what.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2012 13:21:11
Ivanovitch has been a major player for us the last few seasons, but if Cesar is bought where does that leave him. Just right back/centre back cover? His preferred position is centre back but with Terry, Cahill and Luiz there, his options will be limited. Maybe the club should forget Cesar and keep Ivan as first choice right back with Sam Hutch as cover. If Bertrand was good enough to step up as left back cover don't see why Hutch can't do the same.

Bluez Bruv {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a squad of players - he will be a squad player.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Plus Hutch cannot be totally relied on. Poor kid is only a year out of retirement, e.g. we wouldn't rest all our DM hopes on Essien would we?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 13:17:39
Hey ed with all those players being signed still no signs of a RB do think chelsea can go in this season with ivanovic and ferreira n sam as back up or a RB will definetely come
Rahul... {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are still pushing to buy a RB.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

There is still 8 weeks to go to start of season.
And who's to say that a RB and FWD is all that's left to sign.

Of Oscar and Marin making the first team come August ?

And ed was giving an opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

I think marin will surprse alot of people, with the amount of games i think even piazon & mceachran will get game time

Agree0 Disagree0

As we all know RDM likes to rotate alot! As he did when he took over last season, These two will be very important players in our pursuite for ALL 7 TROPHIES!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Word is that Marin has looked sharpest in training...

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to factor that I think they're gonna rest mata at the start of the season because he hasn't had an offseason so it's very possible that both play. That being said when hazard and mata are in the team they will fight each other for time.

Ed with Oscar signing potentially who do you see as being surplus to requirements in the midfield as we seem to have too many players in that area in my opinion? Do you think the malouda transfer to santos will go ahead?

Cheers
Jim {Ed002's Note - I expect |Malouda, Benayoun and Meireles will leave.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Really hope mereiles is part of deal to bring cavani to chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

If they all leave ed... Do u expect us to replace thm all or bring up youth Like piazon {Ed002's Note - Players have been arriving.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I want benayoun to stay he hasnt had a chance i lik old yossi BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

How about Essien? {Ed002's Note - If Essien wants to move and and someone makes an acceptable offer the club will not stand in his way. I think he will likely stay.}

Wow! This early into the transfer window and we are already finalising most of our deals!

Signed:

Oscar
Hazard
Marin
Kevin DeBryne

About to sign (hopefully):

Azpilicueta
Cavani/Hulk

I suppose we still need a wold class midfielder to play deeper to make our team complete, but apart from that I think I speak for everyone when I say that our transfer business has been extremley satisfying and successful!

Samir

Believable7 Unbelievable6

I'm being picky, but De Bruyne signed in the January transfer window.

My boss is over in Mexico for a couple of months and just gave me some interesting gossip. His misses and her family keep going on about Chelsea and Man U are trying to sign two younsters from mexican club Guadalajara. Erick Torres and Carlos Fierro,ive looked them up and both look like exciting prospects for the future. Was just wondering if you could shed any light on this or if its just general chit-chat?
