Hey ed, cheers for they goetze news and higuain news recently, just wondering if AVB is looking to Any of his old Porto players in january or summer, I think there were interest in pereria, moutinho, fernando but wondering if his changed his mind or anything, i think neymar is almost definitely never going to join us, not with barca and Madrid after him, I'd love hulk, exciting player, built for prem league. Goetze and higuian would be amazing buy realistically can't see it, cheers ed {Ed002's Note - I really don't know beyond Fernando who Chelsea have not entirely given up hope of.}

Just to be straight I have more chance of growing udders and going moo than we have of signing NEymar. It's old news recirculated from the summer nothing's changed don't get your hopes up it won't happen.

Hi ed do you know what the likeliness of gotze moving to us or another club in January thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't, no.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Is any club looking to make an offer in january {Ed002's Note - Give me a break with this.}

ed in your opinion realistically you see chelsea winning anything this season. how many players do you see leaving incluing loan deals, who? who do you think is most likely to sign, how many players and do you think in the summer a major overhaul will happen in the summer were we will bring in somme younger players and allow are over 30's to leave. what do you think will happen with torres and what areas do you feel need addressing? {Ed002's Note - Winning, no idea - it would be guesswork. On loan, no decisions have been made, but perhaps McEachran and Lukaku if a player comes in. Kakuta may stay out on loan, but quite possibly somewhere other than Bolton. Players will certainly come and go over the next three windows and many of the older players will move on. We have discussed those that are of interest on these pages but it is impossible to say which transfers will be completed. If you look at a simple transaction such as de Bruyne, the problem is that Genk more than doubled the transfer fee they were looking for in the last few days of the summer window. If you look at Azpilicueta, Marseille do not want to discuss a sale until the summer. I would hazard a guess that Torres will leave in the summer unless his form returns. It won't do the player or the club any good to force him to stay. So it is not possible to write a simple summary explaining what will happen, because nobody knows for sure right now.}

We cant loan out lukaku to a other club than anderlecht until the summer! {Ed002's Note - Lukaku can be loaned out.}

So Ed, just to clarify, Chelsea didn't want the interest to get out, but they didn't really believe a deal could be even done for January?

Is this right?

PR! {Ed002's Note - The two are unrelated. They certainly did not want the interest known. They really don't care about the timing of any deal, but you are now going beyond what I said.}

hey ed wouldnt neymar be the perfect signing, young, unpredictable and eligble to play in the champions league unlike higuian or cavani who were linked with. do you know what efforts are being made to sign him or is he out of the question? {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in respect of Neymar. The whole transfer of the player and the timing remains vastly complicated as I explained over the summer.}

hey ed has anything new surfaced about any of the players weve been linked with also have any new players been thrown up that we're linked with lately? {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

ED2 when you have been asked about Mario Gotze you have always said 'There may be some, so far unpublisized, interest from elsewhere announced soon' and now the Sunday Times is saying that Chelsea are looking to buy Gotze. You have also said that a replacement for Lampard is being looked at but have refused to name that player to us and I don't know why. Can you say anything now and are we looking at Gotze?

{Ed002's Note - Given that speculation seems to have come to a frenzied head, it will certainly do no harm to say that the long anticpated but previously unpublisized interest in Goetze is indeed from Chelsea. The reason I did not previously say who the player the club were interested in was simply because the club was very keen that it were kept quiet, particularly given that there is no assurance at all that a transfer will be achievable, certainly in the January window. Dortmund also want to buy Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid, and are aware that Chelsea among others have an interest in him. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan. So there you have it.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Best news ive heard in a long time, he is the best option for us i feel, lets hope Chelsea can pull this or the Hazard transfer off.

PB {Ed002's Note - Whilst Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest in Hazard one extrememly influential party still the player as having a serious attitude problem.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to have a conversation with that influential scout/coach and convince him hes worth the money.

Any update on Lucas Ocampos by any chance?

PB {Ed002's Note - Nothing new and I doubt he will move to England this year. Ocampos has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea still maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy and that seems to have ended any brief interest that they had. Inter Milan, Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus (not either of the Milan clubs) made a bid of $15.5M.}

Ed002 you are a absolute Legend!

Thank you for this brilliant information!

Jst regarding Gotze, i no the price doesnt matter but what do Dortmund want for the player? Will he be available for purchase in January if the price is met or is this a summer purchase. Lastly have we been in contact with Gotze officials and discussed a package and salary yet.

Thanks ed

PB {Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate over the price. There is no feeling if this might be something that even if they could achieve it would be in January or the summer. Chelsea will not talk to Goetze or his representatives without the agreement of Dortmund - so no.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So Chelsea considering talking to Dortmund about a deal?

PR! {Ed002's Note - No. It is perfectly clear already - you are going to make a straight forward situation really convaluted.}

Ok thanks alot

I am pretty sure Götze will not move in the January window. Unfortunately Dortmund are in no need to sell him or Hummels anytime sooner than the Summer. This has been stated by their president Watzke in many interviews here in Germany, as well. Although I know officials don't always say the truth he looks very assured and calm. They are second in the league right now and Hummels and Götze are just way to important to their game that they would have to give up any chance for the title when selling them, even if somebody like Reus, who I also rate highly, came in. The summer is a different matter and Götze would be an amazing addition to our squad. Although prices don't matter; for those who care: I guess he won't leave Dortmund for anything less than 35-40mio, Euro that is.

Greetings from Germany and KTBFFH

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - Why would Chelsea keep this quiet when nearly all of the big teams in Europe are interested in him and Dortmund would want the rest of the clubs to know this so it budges up the price? Also you said that there was no chance that United will sign him, perhaps in around fifteen years you said, so why is there a chance Chelsea will sign him, but not United, Arsenal or City?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Most clubs are not keen on their transfer dealings being made public. Your view about Dortmund makes it sound like some sort of public auction - and I would have thought that you would know that is not how clubs do business. I am also not clear how you can bundle Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea together like that. I don't recall saying that he would not sign for Manchester City or Arsenal either. What offer is on the table for Goetze at the moment? I have made matter as clear as I can Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - I understand that Ed, United are one of the most secretive clubs going when it comes to dealings. I know City, Chelsea, United & Arsenal have different levels of financial power, but sometimes it is down to where the player wants to go and not who can offer Dortmund the most cash. In the past he has mentioned United, Barca & RM, so if United are willing to pay the money for him and neither of the Spanish clubs want him, then surely United have as much chance as Chelsea, AC Milan or anybody? In October we had a lengthy discussion on this subject and this is what you said:

07 Oct 2011 14:22:44
Ed002 - I suppose it will depend on the method of payment too wouldn't it? How much will be paid upfront etc etc. I guess it also depends on who wants to buy and whether or not he demands to join a particular club.

It was probably a silly question, I think we can agree on that one mate?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Dortmund fill an 80k seat stadium pretty much every week, they are German Champions and any interest in the player will include a number of high profile clubs. I would say that he will not be moving to Manchester anytime soon (say within the next 15 years or so).}

Ed002, but how can you be so sure that (a) City or United will not attempt to sign him and (b) that he will rather move to AC Milan or Bayern over Manchester United? I regard your opinion very highly, but how can you be so sure that he will not be moving to Manchester when he leaves Dortmund?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Because my focus is on the reality of it all rather than on some Fantasy Manager game or on what happens on Match of the Day, or on who is the hip player at any moment in time. Teams are simply not built that way by most sustainably successful sides. I did give leave the window open to him joining after 15 years though - so it is not all bad news.}

You were pretty adamant that he will not play for City or United, my question is why? Why is he more likely to join AC, Chelsea or others over United?

Sydney!

{Ed002's Note - Things change all the time Syd. I agree he wioll join Manchester United in January. OK.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - Come on mate I know things change, that is kind of my point. Just because United are yet to put an offer on the table, it doesn't necessarily mean they never will. They can enter the race anytime. One minute Arsenal were going to sign Mata and it falls through, next minute Chelsea snap him up, things change, that is all I am saying Ed.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - It seems to be a waste of my time explaining any situation as it is Sydney. Let's just assume that he and Gaitan and all of the other players you want will sign for Manchester United in January and I won't need to provide any information at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - I don't believe we will sign Goetze or Gaitan in January, I am not sure we will sign anyone in January. All I am saying is things change and if United have spoken to Dortmund regarding Goetze, is it so unrealistic that we will not enter the race for him in the near future? I value your inside knowledge very highly and appreciate what you do for this site, but I just wanted to know why Chelsea have a chance of signing him, yet United don't? Couldn't United be keeping things quiet themselves? Perhaps we should leave it at that Ed, but don't think I am not grateful for your time on here, I am.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - The problem is Syd is that I am providing an update to what we knew and you wish to, for some reason, enter the slightly surreal world of "what if". If Manchester United have an interest in the player they need to follow due process and approach Dortmund, make an offer etc.. So the best thing for me to do is say that, yes, he will be moving to Old Trafford in January because I have no other way of satisfying you.}

ed have we missed out on vargas, who will we target instead? {Ed002's Note - We knew that there had been interest in Eduado Vargas from Italian and English clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea, Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and probably others) but there were concerns from the English clubs as to whether or not he will be able to obtain international clearance immediately making England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia. If he were to move and go on loan, then an English club is taking a risk that he continues to play competitive internationals for his country. Chelsea, Zenit and Napoli made offers. Zenit's offer was not welcomed by the player and Chelse could not offer commitments about where the player would be come the summer and a six month loan back to Universidad as it is unknown if a work permit could be obtained. As such, Napoli is the most likely destination with the parties reaching an agreement.

hey ed, is it true that avb pin-pointed neymar for this january transfer window!! thanks {Ed002's Note - Are you reading something 6 months old?}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

No he not avb said it 2 hours ago {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in respect of Chelsea and Neymar. It pre-dates AVB even arriving and someone specifically has been dealing with everything in South America. But I am able to tell you that since he left Santiago very late Monday night he has been oin Colorado. Santos, Neymar and the entire circus has been in Yokohama this week.}

Avb said neymar was his top target after the club world cup final

Just a few questions Ed.

The daily mirror is reporting AVB has told Mr Abramovich Neymar is his number 1 target. Is there any update on the situation as it stands?

Also The People are reporting Mesut Ozil has had a bust up with Mourinho and has been given a Ultimatum that if his performances dont improve he is gone. He would be a fantastic addition yo our midfield, would Chelsea be interested if he became available?

Thanks Ed

PB {Ed002's Note - I cannot comment on what the papers are suggesting and Chelsea's interest long predates AVB joining as manager. Nothing has changed with respect to the player though. UNless something has changed, there is no intersst in Oezil.}
