Eds can you please try and explain to me why Neymar wants to stay at Santos just so that he can play in the world club championship against Barcelona.. Surely if he moved to Real he would play them at least twice in La Liga...
Doesnt make sense to me but then again I am thick

Cheers {Ed002's Note - There is a lot of prestige in playing in the World Club Championships for South American players. That is all it is.}

Has Sam Hutchinson officially come out of retirement? {Ed002's Note - I understand that there is some evaluation going on. He spent time in the Middle East and the States seeing what could be done.}

ED002 i wondered was there ever an interest in Ronaldinho when he was in his prime i seem to recall a lot of paper talk about it before? {Ed002's Note - There was certainly interest from Manchester United when he was at PSG and I don't recall anything but speculation over interest from Chelsea.}

If we are to challenge for the title this year we Need to sell kalou Anelka zirkov mikel, get wage bill down and bit more transfer kitty and get in done good exciting players, push for aguero, pastore, snijder would be brilliant buy but not sure were even interested, eds is there any interest in erikson or hazard, oh and I'm gutted neymar will be playing on Spain next season,

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Add Malouda to that "out" list and you may have something there...

Ed..Do you know anything of our interest in Alan Gatagov the Russian U21 midfielder? {Ed002's Note - He is a kid who plays for Lokomotiv if memory serves. Arnesen was interested so perhaps.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Yes he is at Locomotiv and the Arnesen connection certainly makes sense of someting that seemed off the wall.
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes thats the player.I was a bit sceptical but the Arnesen connection make sense of it..thanks.

If Real Madrid were to snatch Ag ero, would that make it logical for chelsea to approach Di Maria and negotiate easily?

Any of you guys on ere heard anything about wot AVB plans to do with sturridge? Im a toon fan and we would love him up here {Ed002's Note - Unless he asks for a transfer or a loan, I suspect he will stay at Stamford Bridge.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Cheers Ed He looks full of play and thats what we like up ere Or we will have kalou if he available haha good luck this season coming Spank the mackems for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he plays first team next season up front on the right of a 4-3-3 with Torres and a signed left winger

ED002 any news on the person that was sent to argentina last night who was he looking at? {Ed002's Note - No, as I said I doubt there will be anything to report unitl the end of the week.}

Ed, what other options does modric have if he has to leave spurs other than convincing the club? {Ed018's Note - being an unhappy player fot Tottenham is his only other option.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2011 14:26:36
ed018, with Argentina out of the Copa America do you think we might move for Di Maria and Aguero now? I fully believe that Aguero would rather join Chelsea than Man City as we are the bigger club. {Ed018's Note - i think chelsea will make an effort for Di Maria, Aguero im not so sure about right now}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2011 16:59:44
could modric refuse to play for spurs {Ed002's Note - He would then be in breach of contract and not be being paid. Spurs could sue for any loss in his value. Does not sound like a master plan.}

Ed jst read that cfc are ready to make an improve bid of £22m for lukaku is there any truth in it.cheers {Ed002's Note - I suspect it is conjecture. I provided an update yesterday and nothing will have changed today. Chelsea may discuss a bid tomorrow.}

ed what about sissokho were always linked and hes be a good replCEMENT for essien heard anything {Ed002's Note - I assume you mean Sossoko of Toulouse. I think it very unlikely.}

Cech
Ivanovic-Luiz-Terry(c)-A.Cole
Lampard-Ramires-Fernando
Sturridge-Torres-Di Maria

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Lampard should be bench, replace with Modric

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a more offensive right back. put Ivanovic centre back with Terry and put Luiz right back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ivanovic is offensive and defensive
he is a perfect RB... he scored 4 goals last (2010-2011) season :) this defensive line is perfect :D for midfilders i would put essien(ramires) - de rossi
lampard
attack
torres and aguero
drogba

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres cant play behind the main striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Luiz would not be a good rb he would take down any1 who runs at him and when we play spurs he will get sent off for fouling bale

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2011 13:29:55
Ed what can Modric do now from a legal point of view? Can he just leave or does he have to buy himself out? {Ed018's Note - theres not much he can do, he has a contract he must see out, he has no buy out clause. all he can do is ask to be sold and hope spurs will sell him}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Personally I hope Tottenham do stand by there word as I'de prefer to see us go for Nasri.

17 Jul 2011 12:36:15
OK ED CAN U PLEASE TELL US THE PLAYERS THAT WE ARE LOOKING AT AND ARE ON OUR WISH LIST SO WE CAN HAVE HOPE AND LOOK FORWARD TO IM NOT SAYING WHO WE ARE GOING TO SIGN JUST LINKED TO THAT WAY YOU WONT LOOK SILLY IF/WHEN IT DONT HAPPEN CHEERS ED (PS) CHILL OUT :) {Ed018's Note - seriously, this is discussed every single day on here}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

rather than us wasting our time over the same questions, over and over about players we are definitely not getting like neymar, arguero, ganso, pastore, pepe falco, hulk, di maria and kaka. ed pls can you tell us based on your sources and realistic information out there what players we are actually getting not fantasy players, cause this aint fantasy football. just players that might actually be in the team by the start of the league in august. thanks again. cause this is my only source of knowing what is going on at the club before it is reported {Ed002's Note - It is impossible for me to say which players will be arriving. Nobody knows the answer to that question.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2011 11:44:56
"Chelsea suffered yet another snub yesterday when Neymar, the most-sought after young talent in world football, rejected their advances and agreed to join Real Madrid" if this is true ed, what is our plan b or other option since our plan a is definitely not happening. {Ed002's Note - Reports of Real Madrid having "signed" Neymar are wide of the mark - all that exists is an agreement between Perez and Ribeiro at this time, although it seems likely that a deal will be struck for him to move in January. It is im,possible for me to answer any "what comes next" questions.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2011 11:37:35
Messi, higuain, aguero, pastore and tevez all succumbed under uruguay pressure. ed, what is your opinion about the quality of aguero as a top flight target for chelsea in terms of premier league combative nature and solid-rock defences? {Ed002's Note - So you are writing them off because of one game? I think Aguero would do fine in the EPL.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

17 Jul 2011 10:49:09
Ed, do you expect Chelsea to make any moves for players in the next few days and if yes who? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but it is impossible to guess at timescales.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

So what players are we interested in? {Ed002's Note - Please could you take the time to read through the other posts where there is plenty of discussion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2011 10:37:49
Now Argentina have been knocked out of the Copa America, how long will it be before we hear more on the Pastore, Aguero, Di Maria and even though it doesnt concern us, the Tevez deals

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I would love Di Maria, he was class at Benfica, Pastore would also be good, I think Aguero doesn't care which club he goes to he only wants money so let Man City Fork out 40 million + wages for another robinho who will soon get bored and ask for a transfer but end up sitting on the bench or on loan because man city will want more than what they paid for him and clubs wont bid that or be able to afford his wage demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you are right. Let's concentrate on Di Maria and Pastore.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2011 09:51:18
Ed - have spurs really bid on Dzagoev? that would be really annoying as he is a good player, especially if they keep modric. I cant see us beating city to aguero - the only hope is if he doesnt wanna go there i guess.

I still hold a slim hope for neymar? Still a chance? All very quiet on him right now? {Ed002's Note - Reports of Real Madrid having "signed" Neymar are wide of the mark - all that exists is an agreement between Perez and Ribeiro at this time, although it seems likely that a deal will be struck for him to move in January. As for Dzagoev I don't know of a bid by Spurs but Arsenal showed a lot of interest in the player in March. They sent a number of people to Moscow to watch him play.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

17 Jul 2011 09:23:19
I hope Chelsea give up their pursuit of Modric soon and move for Pastore or Ganso (that boys vision and passing abbility is unbelievable) Real Madrid tying up the signing of Neymar may be a blessing in disguise as Di Maria would appear to be surplus to requirements in Madrid. Beat City to the signing of Aguero and that's some attacking force

Cech
Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole
Ramires
Pastore Lampard
Aguero Di Maria
Torres

Believable12 Unbelievable7

This is quite possible

the sunday star.
Chelsea will now have to fork out £40million if they want to sign Porto striker Falcao.

ed, surely we should not now sign this bloke as he signed a new contract last week which will end up squeezing more money from chelsea.
hardly sounds like this player has chelseas interests at heart if he decides to join? {Ed002's Note - No, he had Porto's and his own interest at heart.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We can forget Falcao.

17 Jul 2011 09:17:44
Ed shall we take the lack of response to our offer to Aguero as a no? Is he waiting to see what MC have to offer? We need a player like him to be able to break down defenses especially when we play the likes of MU and Barca. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what you are talking about - sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You said we put an offer on the table about a month ago? {Ed002's Note - Yes, and you said there was no response, and I have no idea what you are referring to.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok I take it the answer was a no then {Ed002's Note - I have explained that both Chelsea and Manchester United failed to put a package together that was acceptable to the player after discussions with his representatives. Juventus then spent two days with his representatives and whilst we don't know whether they came up with the right package for the player, they did make an offer to negotiate a fee with Atletico Madrid, but that was rejected. I would not yet entirely rule out Chelsea and I am not certain that Manchester United have completely removed themselves from the equation. Now we have Aguero and his representatives trying to get Roma and Bayern Munich to make a bid and Manchester City declaring Aguero as a target.

Agree0 Disagree0

In a bidding war with citeh is pointless, one of us will end up paying well over the odds, we should make a deal on targets, they go for 1 player we go for the other, it will save both club a lot of money and stop these overinflated wages and transfer fees

Agree0 Disagree0

Understood. Thanks Ed.

Ed, any interest in pato? He is a similar player to aguero, would (i assume) be on lower wages, is Brazilian, which would help him bed in, and he can also play on the right, which we need, any interest? {Ed002's Note - None at the moment and he has not had a good season last year.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2011 01:30:44
ed018, AVB yesterday confirmed his interest in Scott Parker. I thought we were suppose to be bringing in young players with flair? Luiz can quite easily fill in for Essien while he's out can't he? {Ed018's Note - i was a bit suprised that AVB acknowledged that in his press conference today. i personally cant not see parker being anything more than a squad player and maybe they thought they could or can get him cheap. but ill take mikel or ramires in that position before parker. but if they want to buy him cheap to come off the bench for a season then fine. as long as they fill the positions they need to fill}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Do you not think he might just be playing mind games with the other clubs, kinda like to throw them off scent.

ED018 you willing to share the speculation you heard mate ? {Ed018's Note - i want to see what i hear back on monday}

17 Jul 2011 00:39:32
Ed is there a chance Chelsea could add a player to a potential deal for aguero which would free wages up aswell or is that not an option? {Ed002's Note - It is not an option - and freeing up wages is not a specific issue in the case of Aguero.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Ed it's a shame that we most likely might miss out if man city come in since he is great player and would suit us well.Is Lukaku considered a more realistic option at this moment Ed? {Ed018's Note - lukaku is more of a realistic option at this point but they play different positions and i dont think they are comparable in those regards. i hope chelsea do come back for aguero and they can figure out a package that will suit him}
