ed. can't believe we let sturridge go.
I saw him today. looks fabulous.
good first touch. working really hard. his pace is too good.
we sold a up coming british center forward for 12 mill?
he is miles better than BA and Torres.
goodness me. {Ed002's Note - He wanted to move on, an acceptable offer was made and he went.}

Players always look good when they have something to prove. Trust me feruz and Bamford will both be a lot better than him.

Sturridge would've been by far more suitable to the team than Ba and Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he wouldnt. the thing we have lacked is a physical focal point for our attack.
We have plenty of small quick and technically gifted players this season. Sometimes its useful to bypass midfield when the oppo parks the bus.
Ba created Mata's goal just by competing for the high ball.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sturridge isn't good enough. Never performed in big games. Bottled chances in big games. Never scored big goals. Bottled every challenge he went in for. Cost us lots of goals by not releasing the ball. Never liked him. -James13

Agree1 Disagree0

How can you say he doesn't perform in the big games, look at the goal he scored for liverpool against city. Watched a few of his games for liverpool and he looks like a gem we never new we had. Should have given him more game time, with the right coaching this lad can be world class. he's already got 5 goals there, there must be something to him.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sturridge was a great player but there were broader issues with his attitude which have been alluded to. I'd have liked him to stay but now he has gone let's move on, back who we have and look forward to new signings this summer. No point pointing out who we should have kept - if we did, we'd be here all day talking about Parker, glen Johnson, drogba etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont forget how many goals he got under AVB and he was only on the wing there, no doubt about it he would have scored goals given the chance (cant be worse than nando) but in the long run it was better for him to move on and good luck to the lad! once we buy falcao (fingers crossed) he wouldn't get a look in anyway

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not blaming Sturridge for Torres time at Chelsea but the amount of times he could of played ball instead of shooting from silly positions Etc then Torres would have had it more goals. Glad we got rid of Sturridge. Give
It little while and His Ego and Attitude will surface again

Hi ed can you explain why it is not as simple as that for us mer mortals would be so greatful as you said the same about falcao swap with courtois and cash thanks in advance
Jambo {Ed002's Note - The Courtois situation was easy as no such deal had been mooted. The poster has said something like "Torres and cash for Falcao - simples" or some such abuse of the English language. It seems easy for everyone to ignore such matters as ownership of the player? Atletico Madrid own only part of the player and are seeking a replacement on a similar part ownership deal so it is enormously complicated. A number of businesses including Doyen Sports Investments and Quality Sports helped Atletico Madrid with the financing of the purchase of Falcao and have a significant financial interest in him. If he were to move to England that would need to be addressed.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

This is very well understandable. Question is are we ready to finance this deal. Third part ownership is prohibited in England. Therefor my question is whether the mooted 40-50 million pound transfer covers all three ownership parties or just the Atletico interest?

JG {Ed002's Note - It covers the player outright - the point is that it is not a simple negotiation.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi again ed that's great thanks for that so basically if we did a cash plus player by the time the cash is split between owner ships athletico will not get that much cash
Jambo {Ed002's Note - I don't want to go there. Think of them as separate negotiations.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed! "or some such abuse of the English language" looks like our favourite editor is on fire tonight!

Hi Ed, great job on here.
With David Moyes stalling on signing a new contract do you think he is in the running to become the next manager?
I think he would be a good fit with his no nonsense attitude, might be what some of the prima donnas need.
Rob

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Your joking right? Sorry but david moyes is just a flashy big sam lol. I like mata behind the striker no need for fellaini behind the striker long balls please plus he is a 442 guy, might be good for everton not what we need right now

Hi ed just wondering if Chelsea are looking to sign a possible Terry replacement in the near future, as we are lacking a thouraghly vocal defender who can organise our defence so we do not concede as many goals, as Terry does. Someone like Mats hummels I see as an option but even with our wealth I can see the price tag being a bit high. Any ideas on who we might go for as a potential Terry replacent, if we are actually looking for one.

Thanks Ed,
Webbo {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has four centre backs returning from loan in the summer, although it is clear one of those will be sold. As such, Chelsea is well covered in that position for now and I am not aware of interest in Hummels or anyone like Hummels at this time.}

OMEROU-AKE-KALAS-CHALLOBAH. let's actually bring through some youngsters.

ED,

hi ed
is there any truth that we are about to sign cristian cuevas?
thanks matt {Ed002's Note - Yes Matt. Cristian Cuevas had a trial at Chelsea last year and since then it had been reasonably quite aside from interest also being shown by Udinese. Cuevas was assessed further at the CONMEBOL 2013 South American Youth Championship to convince a representative from Chelsea to push an head for the player and make an offer. Chelsea has subsequently had an offer accepted for Cuevas of just under $2.7M - which was a figure Udinese did not want to match. Keep in mind he is just a kid so don't expect to see him in Chelsea's first team anytime soon.}

Is this a sign that Piazon will make his deal at Malaga permanent? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Hey Ed. A Spanish source reports that Athletico have expressed an intrest in re-signing Torres in the summer. Any truth Ed?

ViC {Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid are in search of two forwards for the summer and they have an interest in Torres. Their problem is money.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Very simple way to solve both Chelsea and atletico problems, we give them torres and money and take falcao ;) simples {Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Are his wages a stumbling block Ed02?

JG {Ed002's Note - I have no idea if they are an issue or not, sorry.}

ED are Atletico Madrid interested in signing Torres?
Johnnycfc {Ed002's Note - They have interest in several strikers and Torres is one.}

Who on earth would gamble on torres he is shot to bits!

ED is it true Athletico asked Chelsea to include Torres in a deal for Falcao? {Ed002's Note - I would not try and tie the two potential deals together. Atletico are going to be looking for two forwards but will have limited funds and in at least one case will be looking to a part ownership deal on a player and money will be their biggest driver.}

Hey ed002,

Sorry to ask you this but could you do a list of all the players Chelsea have expressed an interest in recently. I remember you last doing a list about 6 moths ago and finding it very informative so it would be greatly appreciated?

MB {Ed002's Note - Perhaps nearer the start of the season. The club has certain clear targets that they are looking to (as discussed) and obviously is continuing to have players watched and scouts are continuing to go to games etc.. There is a good understanding of who is likely to leave but equally players will be coming back from loan and will need to be looked at by teh new manager and by the coaching staff - so things will change.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So you think rafa is defo going to be released {Ed002's Note - He won't be "released", his contract only runs until June. I told you that when he arrived Kevin.}

Ed would you expect an early appointment of a new manager

Say end of May early June as he has a lot of work ahead of

Him {Ed002's Note - I have no such expectations.}
