Hi Ed, Jose said in his presser that we're after "one more player", presumably a striker, now Metro reporting that we're interested in Jackson Martinez. I thought I read on here that Porto are asking 40m or more for him. Is he a possibility or is it nonsense? Cheers

I don't claim to be 'in the know', but I think it's probably recycling of old news. I know we enquired previously about his availability and I'd hope as soon as we were quoted anything like 40m we ran a mile. I thought Atletico was his most likely destination, although I don't know how the arrival of David Villa would affect that?

ed any truth in falcao being transfer listed by monaco due to tax reasons being forced on them from french football authorities.

NWBLUE {Ed018's Note - I've asked and haven't heard back yet. So I really don't know}

The rumour came from a report from Marca (real madrid's newspaper basically)

It rumoured that Ligue 1 will force the club’s players to pay the top tax rate of 75% like the rest of France

And so it bloody well should.

And the idea is that the Russian owner will have to pay near 100m euro's as a fine or instead sell some players, and as we know Real were interested in Falcao. Maybe they've been told they won't get suarez so have tried to start this to get Falcao? who knows i'm merely speculating.

I personally think it's outrageous that Monaco can get away with this. Imagine if the Isle of Man was an almost tax free island and they're football club entered the Premier league, no other clubs could compete with the wages on offer and players would soon flock there. Hopefully this Monaco situation will be sorted soon.

Lets put in another bid of £40 million. If they have to sell they will sell!

Can a player play for more than one club within the same transfer window?

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't be listed, the sale will become void

@The Guvnor
I believe one player can move more than one time in one window but it is very very uncommon. I think Dietmar Hamann did it a few years ago but that's the only one I know of. I hope this story is true and there is a huge twist and Falcao will push through a move to Chelsea

Am I right in thinking you cannot play for three teams in one year?

Agree0 Disagree0

You can register for three teams but play for only two. Its not worth worying about though as this is rubbish!
