Ed002 Interesting that you have dismissed various newspaper rumours regarding midfield players we maybe watching.
I think you said the club are looking at alternatives to Essien so who would they be ?
Thanks {Ed061's Note - The club still holds the most interest in Fernando.}

Is that Fernando Reges of Porto? I would be very pleased if so. He is an incredible ball winner. Thanks Ed061. -James13 {Ed061's Note - It is James, and no problem mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidal is the midfield steel we need unless we start playing Romeu.

Thanks for the info Ed 061 lets hope it works out.Is this feasible in january do you think? {Ed061's Note - I guess so, it would depend on injuries I would imagine. Probably more likely at the end of the season though as he is seen as a replacement for Essien.}

Agree0 Disagree0

According to Wiki his contract finishes in June. If that is true and I realise its dubious,they may well listen to a few quid in January I suppose.
That would certainly help with Mikel off to the ACN.

The various rumors in last week are suggesting we will spend 60m euros to land Falcao in next summer.......
no one of us doubt the Falcao's goal scoring ability......
but still spending 60m euros on alone striker who will be more than 27 yrs old doesn't make it a good transfer deal for us........
imagine we sign him for 4-5 yrs deal for 60m euros.....
n then after he completes his 30 we don't offer him more than one year contract extension because of the policy chelsea fc following.......
n then we sell him a year before he finishes his contract for relatively less amount or let him go for free when his contract expires......
well falcao was brilliant and didn't take anytime after his transfer from porto to atletico madrid.....
but he did struggle in porto for first 1-2 seasons.....
so even if he comes to us we can't expect him to show the same form immediately which he is showing rite now.......
means we will be spending 60m euros for a player who can give us not more than 3 good seasons......
though i would prefer falcao joining us......
i am not in favour of spendin such huge amount of 60m euros on single striker taking into account that FFP will come into force in 2013........
i guess torres is doing decent job though not brilliant as he scored goals against stronger opposition teams like man city(in FA Community shield) n against new castle, arsenal......
torres has now 6 goals in 12 matches and if he keeps performing with this he will easily get 30 goals in this season......
so i don't think we are in any urgent need of spending 60m euros again for a single striker......
i personally think if sturridge signs new contract we won't sign any new striker....
n if sturridge do't sign new striker then we might sign new striker but will be much cheaper n younger to that of Falcao........
may be some one like robert lewandowski....loic remy.....andre schurle!!!!
