CHALOBAH SET FOR WATFORD MOVE

Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is having a medical at Watford tonight ahead of a permanent move to Vicarage Road, according to Sky sources.

We understand Southampton and Swansea were also interested in signing the 22-year-old midfielder, whose Blues contract runs out in a year's time.

The England U21 international will sign a five-year deal with the Hornets, who are set to pay an initial £5m fee for the player that could rise to £7m.

Baker won't make it if that boy not done.

13 Jul 2017 23:07:06
I'm sure it's his choice. He wants to play regularly which is completely fair. With the likes of Kante and cesc we cannot offer him what he needs at this time of his career. I only hope we have some form of buy back clause (if it exists)

13 Jul 2017 23:20:38
Playing time and 12 months remaining on his contract made it tough for us to keep him infairness the board were going to offer him a new deal its a case of another talent gone out the door for us.

This transfer has made me feel sick . I like baker but if chalobah doesn't make it into the Chelsea team nor will he. So gutted as I genuinely feel this kid had the talent to be thrusted into the first team, and it's horrible to see a youth player who has been at the club since a kid leave when I thought he may of been given a chance.

Challabah has Kante and now bakayako in front him, plus matic I here for now. He's 22 he's done the right thing, I would of played minimal football and at that age he should be playing regular.

CHALOBAH'S WORDS:
“He showed faith in me in pre-season and he liked the way I was working. That was a confidence boost, ” Chalobah said at the time. “As a player, you just get the vibe.
“It’s a very high standard at the club and the club has an amazing academy and produces really top players.
“It’s just there’s that barrier getting in there and staying in there. You’re playing for one of the best teams in Europe, they’re in the Champions League and the demand is high on winning. ”
HIS WORDS ABOUT THE CLUB IS GOOD, MAY BE WE MIGHT STILL SEE HIM AT CHELSEA IN THE FUTURE IF HE IMPROVES. LET'S HOPE THE CLUB WILL GET IT RIGHT.

Chalobah apparently set for a medical at Watford and will sign a 5 year deal with them. Nate leaving makes me incredibly sad as I believe he's a very very talented midfielder and we'll rue the day we let him go. He's Chelsea through and through.

I guess this means Matic will stay then. This transfer window is starting to annoy me. Big time.

13 Jul 2017 22:47:15
To be honest I'm starting to wonder what the club are playing at! What's the point in ploughing money in to a youth academy if you're just going to sell every kid who comes through showing signs he could actually get in the team. I mean let's be honest, he can't be much worse than Matic was last season, the guy can barely run. We're going to regret not giving Solanke a chance, he'll be top scorer for Liverpool next season. Chalobah is a massive loss. If we're being genuinely serious, Loftus-Cheek could have the season of his life next year, win the PFA player of the year (that's a joke by the way) and Chelsea would still sell him, just because that's what we do! I've had enough it's pathetic. If I were Mason Mount I'd start fishing for clubs now. We're becoming a joke!

I'm sure the club will continue to sign quality players during this window but I am very disappointed that Chalaboa and Ake have been sold. Two players with a big future and I'm convinced they will play many times for their respective countries.

13 Jul 2017 22:55:57
Give them 2 years and we'll sign them back. Ahh champions but this window is doing my head in. Selling the wrong players in my eyes. Nate and Nath should of stayed.

13 Jul 2017 23:01:30
If both Matic and Chalobah leave then who the hell are we going to bring in? We'd only have Kante, Cesc and Bakayoko as CMs. That's definitely not enough, especially since Bakayoko will miss the first few games of the season because of his injury.

13 Jul 2017 23:11:33
NO Chalaboa buyback clause. I know we were over a barrel with just one year left on his contract but he has been at the club since he was 10. This is all madness. Christensen will be sold before the window is closed.

Keep your knickers on boys the chelsea will move on id be shocked if chalobah ever turns out to be a top class player he's decent i think ake is much better and would of suited us . chalobah made up his mind when we went and brought bakayoko an can u blame the lad he wants to play football week in week out i hope he does great things at watford always liked him.

Guys let's be realistic. To be playing at Chelsea you must be top class.

Unfortunately some of the youngsters that are being sold are not as good as the ones that are being purchased. I appreciate the argument that 'game time' will make them batter, however, at Chelsea it's about results. I don't doubt that 1 or 2 may bite us in the future.

Unfortunately the days of norturing a youngster who then can be be integrated into the first team seems long gone. The pressure is high at club like Chelsea. Conte knows what he is doing or would have given more of a chance.

You could also look at it anthor way as sad as it is we've lost these lads were getting them out and they should be playing week in week out there the future of england and they need to be playing for an elite team such as we are you cannot throw kids in who aren't absoulutley exceptional i think chelsea have done the best by them and not the club itself and in a way that merits respect and who knows if they do make it someday they will come home.

I think it's all very strange - is Alonso better than Bertrand? Is Rudiger that much better than Ake? Is Rudiger better than Christianson? Was selling Troare and not really pushing for Solanke necessary especially now that we only have Bats up-front? Did we really need to sign Caballero when we have Jamal Blackman? Lukaku? De Bruyne? Now Zouma - why buy Rudiger when we have Zouma? In my opinion, John Swift, Dom Solanke and Nat Chalobah will all play for England as will RLC. Supposedly we didn't buy Dle Alli because we thought that RLC was a better prospect - maybe he is - but we'll never know unless we BLOODY PLAY HIM! Rant over and out.

It's hard to see Morata or Aubameyang deals happening now, what with both players travelling overseas for tours with their respective clubs. If Aubameyang was anything more than an enquiry, surely BVB would have kept him in Europe?
Expect Bakayoko to be confirmed around lunchtime tomorrow followed by a new wave of tabloid hysteria over the next round of transfer targets. Sheesh!

I have lost faith with the media especially with the Bakayoko transfer. For the last month it has been either "next week" or "next couple of days" the medical and deal should be done. It's clear that they don't know what's happening with it and are playing the guessing game. They initially stated that the terms with the player were agreed and the fee with the club was outstanding. Then it switched the other way around and now back to the point that a fee is yet to be agreed.

Only person can shed light into this issue is ED2? Any chance you could come back this transfer window mate? Some of us have been following this site for many many years and would absolutely appreciate your response. It's not the same without you on here.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is simple mate, Bakayoko suffered a knee injury which held up completion of the deal as he wouldn't have passed a medical. That is all that is holding things up, him passing a medical. Chelsea have had doctors checking his knees out, so now it is just waiting for their findings. No idea how long that takes as it depends on what tests they did and I have no idea what they did.}
