Ed, do you think that Chelsea will turn to Luiz or make a move for Lombaerts? {ed's note - Luiz was priced out of Chelsea's reach a long time ago.}

So Ed, all these rumours surfacing about Chelsea having a 17.5m bid being rejected and they refusing to pay higher than that margin are false? {ed's note - they want well over 20m for him, that was what I mean by being priced out.}

Hi is it true that a deal for subotic has broken down and now chelsea are going to bid for david luiz also is there firm interest in alexis sanchez ? {ed's note - I have not heard that.}

Chelsea exec confirms deal for Paizon 'highly unlikely' as preferred destination is Spain.
Deal for Van der Wiel at Ajax ongoing with fee to be agreed, around 10m.
Gary Cahill is wanted by Carlo and a 17.5m bid has been rejected by Bolton, who only want to do business in summer.
Attention is now turned back to Neven Subotic with an expected 18m offer to Dortmund.
Roman has also given the green light after talking to Ancelotti, to get season back on track with bids in pipe-line for Pjanic of Lyon and Lakalu of Anderlect, combined total of 30m. seen as ideal long term replacements for Lampard and Drogba respectively.

Finally another Blues Fan who actually reads what is written an knows what he's talking about, The days of Chelsea Buying Silverware is over, we may need to purchase a player this Window but don't expect more than £20m being spent an that's possibley on 2 players, there rumours on us buying these top players arnt happening we do have some problems as of late, but it short team, if you want some speculation i don't Believe Drogba will be a Chelsea player next season, an a top striker will come in the summer to replace him, ED or Sharkey do you agreee, but don't expect £30m or Pato or anyone like that, maybe £20m if we get a good price for off loading Drogba!

I am also surprised that (a) you do not understand the home grown rule in the Brumo, Van Aanholt and Kakuta all qualify as home grown players and will not count toward the foreign contingent; (b) Chelsea have discussed removing Benayoun from the list of players for the second half of the season iof there is an issue over the foreign contingent numbers.}

Editor, If you scroll down you will see plenty of examples of people expecting a massive influx of new players. I just want them to be realistic, if its a wishlist then fair enough but if people are expecting Roman to go out spending vast amounts of money again then they will be very dissappointed.

Thanks for reminding me about Bruma, Van Aanholt & Kakuka, i forgot they are indeed homegrown, or certainly will be. Its just Matic & Rajković who will not be classed as homegrown. I am aware that they could be leaving out Benayoun but i do not believe they need to. I think two players tops will come in.

Lombaerts is a good shout, Pienaar is a massive shout and a replacement for Bosingwa if he leaves although we may see Ferreira & Ivanovic play there until the summer. I know Ivanovic does not want to play right back but i think he will realise that its either that or a place on the bench.

So Editor, why not have a prediction yourself? I am sure everyone on here wants to know who you believe will be brought in by the end of January as much as i do. I don't mean who we are linked to, as like most top clubs we are linked to everyone, who do you think will be Chelsea players by January 31st?

Here's my prediction = Lombaerts in, Bruma out on loan. Pienaar will be bid for, i think we will be unsuccessful. Bosingwa will stay. If he leaves then Ivanovic & Ferreira will fill in til the summer. What do you think Editor? Lets see who's closest come January 31st.

apparently subtic won't be leaving his german side in january so i read that chelsea could make another 20m bid + fierra cash-player deal.

What are your thoughts?

Repeating my response from yesterday and from the day before yesterday: I understand that a bid will almost certainly be made Neven Subotic and that the bid will likely be rejected as Borussia Dortmund want to hold on to the player. The purpose of the bid will be to see if Chelsea can get Dortmund to enter in to discussion over the player. The bid may also bring other interested parties to the table, or remove them entirely so at least we will know where we all stand. If it comes to nothing, I think Chelsea may revive their interest in Zenit's Nicolas Lombaerts.}
