Modric is a deeper lying playmaker where Pastore can make more advanced runs. Pastore would be a nice long term replacement for Lampard. Long term being probably next season. I wouldnt be suprised if Chelsea make strong pushes to sign both but, they still need to try and get some wings. Which if they get one of the two, they may turn their attention to bringing in a winger ]

Heres hoping the rumours of PSG wanting Anelka are true. One of the most frustating players ive ever seen, can look a worldbeater on his day but why the hell does he drop so deep and slow the game down? Do Do Do Au revior Nic Anelka {Ed002's Note - Or a big pay day at Anzhi Makhachkala.}
Yeah I agree, he's got pace to burn but never uses it and instead just slows the momentum of our attacking play right down. Defo time for him to leave me thinks.

Modric definitely, good work ethic, team player, what you see is what you get. you know if you put modric on the pitch you'll get the performance, not like with other waste players.

Not so sure myself. Modric's PL stats aren't exactly great & I think he's overrated. Pastore, Sanchez and Neymar are the three players we need and the club should do everything in its power to land the three of them {Ed018's Note - But Modric is proven in the league and it is a very difficult league to settle in to. Given that now Modric has openly confessed that he likes to make a dream move to Chelsea, what are the possible ways he could make a move now?
Also I would like Ed to throw more light on the below queries:
1) What if Modric hands a transfer request , will the club then has to sell him?
2) Is there any PL rule book which says that if player hands a transfer request and he is been threatened by the club then he has to be sold?
3) Are there an chances that Tottenham will stick to the release clause of Modric (BTW, what is the release clause for Modric)?
I know these are lot of questions but will be pleased if you could throw some light on these.

In England players dont have release clauses, its not part of the contracts over here. In a few european countries yes but not here.

I think Modric will sign after his statements.
Chelsea should offer 20 million and mikel and maybe someone else like benayoun so modric can have number 10 if he wants it and we would offload two of our worst players
I would be happy to see Modric come in exchange for Yossi and some cash, but i dont want to see us hand Spurs more than 25mill really, i dont think he is worth more. {Ed002's Note - I concur.}

Yes, indeed, Ed. The release clause is actually 30M , but Falcao has agreed to a renewed contract (not yet put on paper) that settles it on 45M . {Ed002's Note - So he has not signed it. So for now it remains at 30M euros.}

Palermo have signed a midfielder called Varela. Is he a replacement for Pastore and does this mean his transfer will now happen sooner? {Ed018's Note - palermo may be resigned to the fact that pastore will leave, but they will hold out for as much money as they can. after the copa america things will probably start to become alittle more clear on what will happen}

As well as Pastore ed018? { Ed018's Note - yea, a bid has been made, but we will probably have to wait until after the copa america before any progress to be made with pastore. he is certainly a player they want though}

Hi ED's new to the site so cut me some slack, just wondering if you reckon Pastore is more likely to go to Chelsea or City or Real Madrid etc. Also if you know anything new on Falcao, also do think Shane Long could be a smart investment for the future around £5-8 million and he's proven in the championship. Any Comments welcomed. {Ed002's Note - Pastore has options to consider right now - I would guess Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are most likely. There is nothing new on Falcao aside from Porto trying to get a new contract signed. Shane Long is not going to happen.}

I hope that our club makes asmart and calculated investment and bid for Scotty Parker. If not for Mourinho preferencefor Thiagos and Smertins, he would have been perfect for us long term. He would cost up to 8 mil. Is 30, could be available for a three year deal at about 60K/week, is homegrown and judging by the form of last season would be our starter in the midfield, easily. Doesn't look like Mikel isgonna cut it, doesn't seem like Essien will be healthy long term and Lampard could be evergreen, but wont make a 60 game season on consistand high level. To have a player of Parkers experience and class would be a perfect addition. We have to understand that Sneijder, Schweini, de Rossi, Alonso and quite a few other fine midfielder aren't exactly begging us to take them on board, so we should frankly set ourselves achievable targets. Plus our squad is too thin in personel to handle a 4 competition seasin, especially with ACoN in Jan. {Ed002's Note - Parker's problem at Chelsea was a long term injury in his final season. Nothing else. He will not be rejoining.}
Ed, I'll stand my ground on this. His last season, as you have mentioned, happened to be his first one at the club. Never got a proper chance and was shipped when other targets became available. Not that it didn't work out for us, but we are left with our pants on the ground in the midfield this season. Only Ramires looks like a safe pick. Even if we get Pastore and keep McE in the first team - we are still at least one midfielder short.
{Ed002's Note - Parker's first season at the club was from the winter window when he moved to Chelsea until the summer. He managed to break a metatarsal bone which kept him out injured the following season. He will almost certainly not be rejoining Cheslea.}

That's interesting news ED, making modric are top priority. So how do you see spurs selling when they clearly said he will not be sold? And 1 more question ED, whats happening with regards to wigers. Chelsea clearly lack in the area so who are we targeting? {Ed002's Note - A club saying a player will not be sold is not necessarily the end of the matter. I don't know of any "targets" that are exclusively wingers other than those already discussed (e.g. Di Maria). Kakuta has returned from his loan already.}
Do the club plan on keeping kakuta, he looks like he will be the future of chelsea {Ed002's Note - There are no plans to sell the player but enquiries have been made to take him either permanently or on loan. Unless the new manager has decided he is surplus expect him to be at Chelsea or on loan next season.}
